My major is CS and minor is chem. I did some comp chem researches, but they are much more CS than chem. (like searching a 3D structure within a substance) submitted by /u/Striking-Warning9533 [link] [comments]

Q: Does the 3D structure generated with MolView violate the wedge-dash rules of "above/below the plane"?

RighterI've been taught that in a wedge-dash diagram, the wedge represents a bond above the plane of the paper, and the dash represents a bond below the plane. Accordingly, I expected the structure of this particular conformer of 1,2-dichloro-1,2-difluoroethane to have the fluorine groups in a trans ori...

Q: If two atoms join, do they lose their original spectral lines?

SolitonEach element and even isotope of element has its own set of unique spectral absorption lines. What happens to these lines after two or more atoms join together into molecule? Are all of the lines that pure element has in monoatomic form lost? Or is it that some or all lines are preserved? Also, d...

I have a Mixture of Ethyl Acetate and hexane at a ratio 58:42 by volume. Total Volume at hand is 1500 Litres. (The solvent mixture has undergone thorough blending and the ratio was determined by a QA-QC Lab personnel). I want to make the ratio of the mixture to 50:50.I used the following formula to find the amount of Hexane to be added, ((50/42)*1500)-1500 = 285.7 L of Hexane. But

Q: What is the most probable AI?

Zeruel017then I have a difficult question to ask. Let's imagine that in the distant future of our universe, through the arrangement of atoms that move in empty space, various objects are formed, any object can be formed, the important thing is that it does not violate the laws of physics (to know in detai...
