@Trish I think every game dev needs to be very conscious of not just the things we write, but the things we leave out. The empty spaces where the table is left alone, say just as much about the game we're making, if not more.
When I wrote Goblin Court there were kinds of gameplay and story that I felt would be bad for the game. I didn't just say "don't do bad things," I cordoned them off with mechanics that redirected the action to other options, and I tried to use language which did the same at a conceptual level.

@bobble yuck

12:48 AM
@NautArch Since when is it not allowed to mention the limitations of D&D? Chat folks have been doing that regularly for years now.

@MikeQ Because there have been a lot of frequent and vocal complaints about the system repetitively from certain users and I'm putting a stop to it. We can absolutely talk about system issues. But if a user continues to bring up the same system and it's problems, then they are no longer participating in good faith and just using it as a bludgeon to say a system is bad.
There's having a discussion, and then there's bashing. When someone has a history of bashing, then it's time to ask them to stop. Which I am now doing.

@Ben We were chatting about your earlier. The determination was that you were probably in Australia sleeping. Upside down of course.

Ben
@GcL Well I feel recognised :D
It's currently 11.30am

@BESW Have you ever seen a SawStop?

@ThomasMarkov Is that the one where they showcase it with a hot dog and the saw stops right before it?

Ben
1:29 AM
@ThomasMarkov The CamelCase on that made me think of it like a GameStop. Lol
@NautArch That's my belief

@NautArch yeah, here’s the video: youtu.be/SYLAi4jwXcs

Ben
@G.Moylan asking for someone's name is like saying "what sound do I make with my mouth to attract your attention?"

Absolute madness how cool a table saw can be.

@ThomasMarkov I'm fairly certain I remember that coming out, but I have to check the year.

GcL
@ThomasMarkov Safety features on a piece of equipment that avoid catastrophic injury are nice when they're a bit of plastic that doesn't impede the professional use of the tool.

1:33 AM
While we’re on the subject ALWAYS FOLLOW LOCK OUT TAG OUT PROCEDURES OR YOU WILL DIE

Ben

My old man is an Electrician. So many stories.

On the other hand, some tools are amenable to safety features. Hammers come to mind. It's difficult to make a hammer that won't whack you in the hand if you're not careful.
Knives... the dangerous ones are the dull ones. Not a lot of safety features for a knife aside from a close or sheath that is amenable to single hand operation.
I don't see safety features impeding an RPG design though. Seems analogous to the bits of plastic or a guard that generally help most people avoid mishandling the tools, and they can be removed intentionally by people that don't like them or know what they're doing.

Ben
General Safety:
1. Wear your seatbelt
2. Hammers
3. Don't run with scissors

GcL
Don't hammer your seatbelt with scissors

In case of scissors, have an emergency rock readily available

Ensure proper disposal of rock with paper

@MikeQ Once finished, wrap with paper.

Q: Can a Half-Orc's Relentless Endurance trait save it from its soul being stolen when it dies?

Mike Z.Half-Orcs have the Relentless Endurance racial trait: Relentless Endurance. When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can't use this feature again until you finish a long rest. So what happens if a Half-Orc is directed by an effect th...

But cheese good cheese.

@BESW fun!

Coming up with supportive rants based on the Chats with the Void mini comics
All while I should be working.

I have no idea what I’m doing for tomorrow’s blog article (which I should be writing), I’m not studying for either of my last two finals tomorrow (I probably should be), and I’m not sleeping (I should be), so I’m playing online sudoku for no reason

@BardicWizard why not? Sometimes you just need a bit of active escapism. Sleep doesn't do the trick because you;re not really aware of it.
You can see where my heads at currently XD

@Ben I’m just waiting for this week to be done, honestly. Also, I have two finals tomorrow and must sleep before hand
Also I didn’t sleep well last night (I had IDEAS) and sleep is important!

@bobble have you tried cheese flavoured popcorn???

Sep 9 '19 at 0:55, by BESW
@BlackSpike Have you tried spiced popcorn? You can pop corn without oil pretty easily, then spray on just enough for spices to stick and sprinkle whatever flavors you want. I'm fond of garlic salt and curry powder.
Sep 9 '19 at 0:56, by BESW
Sometimes I heat up peanut butter and drizzle that on it.

Well, well well, if it isn't BESW with helpful culinary ideas. Should've know it.

8:41 AM
@BESW I'm still looking for a spray bottle or way to dilute the oil to make a finer oil mist for coating. Any ideas?
I use a regular spray bottle with oil, but often it sprays unevenly.

Q: What is the interaction between Gift of the Ever-living Ones and Dhampir Vampiric Bite ability

Sam LacrumbThe Dhampir Trait (P17 of VRGTR) Says: Your fanged bite....add your Constitution modifier....deals 1d4 Piercing damage..... You regain hit points equal to the piercing damage dealt by the bite. The Eldritch Invocation Gift of the Ever-living Ones (P57 XGTE) Says: Whenever you regain hit point...

@Akixkisu We usually have a can of pressurized cooking spray for other things, and I just use that.

I don't know about @Akixkisu but that's what we have at home

@BESW yeah that would do it. I like using my own oils, especially for things like sesame or peanut so that isn't an option.
The issue that I run into is that the air pressure doesn't do the job well enough once the bottle isn't filled up to about the 1/8th mark, and even at optimal levels (about 1/2 to 3/5), the mist doesn't distribute as even as I'd like.

Sounds like you need some seasoned advice...

8:54 AM
@AncientSwordRage that is a good idea.

9:09 AM
I haven't been to Seasoned Advice in ages.

9:46 AM
Woo Discord now lets Mac users stream computer audio.

@BESW yay

This is gonna significantly simplify my prayer meetings; previously if there was gonna be music, I'd have to share a YouTube link in the text chat and have everybody listen to it on their own.

that sounds less than ideal

It worked but yeah, it was clunky. Especially since some of my friends aren't super familiar with Discord so switching to text chat was confusing.

10:11 AM
Worked but clunky, yes, that sounds like the Internet.

@BESW I've only ever used discord for text
ok, so I talked over it once or twice but the echo was awul on my phone

Yeah, you can tell its roots as a gamer VoiP service, designed assuming that everybody's got headphones.

10:28 AM
Ahh that sounds familiar
I started using Discord to co-ordinate Pokemon Go raids, but no one local seems to use them
Then I noticed a bunch of YouTubers using it to facilitate discussion on their videos

Yeah, because it was designed to host large numbers of people in often competing groups, it's got a really robust system for server structures and permissions.
But because it was designed for hardcore gamers, it's got a pretty intense learning curve compared to something like Zoom or Hangouts.

Still, one of the reasons I'm doing a prayer meeting on it, is because at least one of my friends was getting a bit twitchy about Zoom and switching to a totally different platform helped reset expectations.

I've been using it for years now - including moderating several servers - and I still haven't figured out how to use all of Discord's features.

@Mithical Same. I bribe a friend with cute dog videos whenever I need to do anything at all nuanced with server structures.

10:49 AM
they sound like excellent bribes

They're among the bribiest.
And they're bespoke dog videos, fresh from my friend who sends me pictures and videos of her dog weekly, if not more often. I'm the pupper's godfather dogfather.

I'll have to start using my cat photos/videos the same way
although I much prefer just putting them into memes

@Akixkisu @ThomasMarkov @enkryptor (@molot, but your not in chat), the Satyr post has been edited
0
Q: Which satyr is better - satyr of Thylea or satyr of Theros?

AnikiI plan to make a frontline-based bard - high AC, mostly melee attacks with a bit of magic (war caster feat), who also has nice social skills. Which of Satyr's racial traits synergize better with this kind of playstyle? Sources: "Odyssey of the Dragonlords" & "Mythical Odyssey to Theros".

I don't think it's clear enough still....

12:08 PM
@AncientSwordRage I asked them to specify which bard college. That will inform the optimization approach

@KorvinStarmast I suspect swords.

@ThomasMarkov he edited in valor

Looks like the racial traits are freely available at the odyssey of the dragon lords site

@ThomasMarkov specifically here ?

12:22 PM
gotcha

The terms of service allege that all licensing requirements have been observed
The guide is free, so can we just put the thylea satyr's racial traits into the question?
seems fine to me

@ThomasMarkov I was thinking the same thing

A question doesn't need to provide answerers with the needed material. Even linking it isn't necessary (though an easy way to unambiguously refer to the material)

@Someone_Evil it would still be handy

I added the relevant traits directly from the free pdf

12:33 PM
@ThomasMarkov I linked the wiki

@AncientSwordRage haha that wiki I shared with you was wrong
I downloaded the pdf to check.

@ThomasMarkov :o
I was going to keep the link but asterisk it to say "This version does not match the pdf"

@Someone_Evil I'm now laughing at "I'm using homebrew material, does the book I'm using contain rules for X?" without actually providing the book

because they may end up using the wiki not the PDF? Not sure

@AncientSwordRage they linked the pdf page

12:38 PM
ah ok

12:50 PM
@ThomasMarkov I just read the first two paragraphs of that blog post and I'm already rolling my eyes. The place has already been described as both "unspoiled by civilization since the dawn of time" and also describing it as having "sprawling ruins". Like, how are there ruins if there were no civilizations to build them?

@RevanantBacon logic fallacity? Maybe they defined civilization as non-human?

@Trish That's OK, I have the perfect solution to this problem.

Here There Be Dragons

@AncientSwordRage The issue is here not that we don't know the source material. The stats and idea outline are a beginning, but it is still unclear what level range the campaign will be and what setting they will play.

@kviiri that conversation needs to be taken to a suitable venue, I think
@Akixkisu Ooh, I didn't ask about campaign length in comments, and I should have. Good point.

1:05 PM
I think somebody else did. Most of those comments can probably be cleaned up

Ugh. Multi-move why you no work
@KorvinStarmast moved to HBD as a band-aid, but I feel somewhat uncomfortable doing more at this time with mods having been invoked and all.

Q: What's next for the issues raised in the community check in?

Thomas MarkovAs I am writing this, it has been 45 days since the 2021 Community Check-in. Many of the answers identify observed site trends, with scores indicating community agreement with those observations. So what do we do now? I think many of the observations made warrant further exploration, but I'm not ...

@kviiri well played

I still need to work today so I'll try to keep my own stance brief: personally, I don't want to "gag" criticism of any game system here, but this isn't supposed to be a hate club with Acceptable Targets you should just smash at very mention. (pardon the injection of humor, but deadEarth might be the exception)
So before we have a more thorough agreement on what is fine and what is not, should we find ourselves needing one that is: please keep your criticism relevant to the discussion at hand, and be excellent to each other.
I trust you to be lovely people, please don't fail me now.

@Trish Trish, a constant stream of negativity harshes the groove of this chat room.

@KorvinStarmast no not that game

@AncientSwordRage Sorry, I'll step aside, I don't want to create a groove harshing comment stream
@kviiri Plus Eleventy Five

1:35 PM
@KorvinStarmast thanks

Thanks.

And as a final note of convenience: Anyone can ask for a discussion to be moved to HBD if the discussion is uncomfortable in any way, or simply taking too much space. Room owners (italic names) and mods (blue names with diamonds) will be happy to move the messages.

@kviiri I'm happy to drop it

@Trish we have an accord.

Has anyone played Magical Kitties?

1:39 PM
Do you play kitens in it? I might need to grab a copy...

Magical Kitties Save the Day by Atlas Games, You are magical kitties. You have humans. The humans have problems. Use your magical powers to solve their problems and save the day!

@AncientSwordRage That looks interesting.

@XanderHenderson it is!

In the sense that I have been looking for something to introduce TRPGs to my daughter with.
My plan was run some Mouse Guard over the summer.

@XanderHenderson Mouse Guard is AWESOME
it's a personal favourite :D

1:41 PM
@AncientSwordRage Good to know. I've been reading through the rules and trying to figure it out.
Though I am planning to skipping most of the setting, the system looks pretty good for a 9 year old.

@XanderHenderson I like how the rules book talks it through in a way that feels appropriate to read to people of that age

@AncientSwordRage mechanically seems like a throwback to SR3: number of d6 and you count any die above a given number.

Indeed. It is a nicely written volume. I like that you determine how much equipment you can carry by drawing it on your character sheet.

@XanderHenderson that'd be A LOT XD
@AncientSwordRage Rats is nice too

@Trish I'm not familiar with that

1:45 PM
@RevanantBacon to pull up on the little discussion of last night: the continent of Aventuria in TDE is meant to have little to no magic used in military by design.

Q: RPG with Rats as PCs?

TrishI am tryting to remember what the name of that (German?) RPG was where you play a rat in some sort of decrepit house or mall or something. One of the worst enemies would be Cats. (It was definitely rats, and not mice.) I remember that it used a rather simple mechanic of just d6, some keywords on ...

oh, wait, it's Packs! in english...

@Trish oh Ratten? I've already upvoted the post so I must have seen it...
Fair enough. But can we agree that there should be both a Muppets RPG and a Pixar RPG? — Hey I Can Chan Jun 25 '20 at 13:03
yes, yes we can

@AncientSwordRage yep, it is super cute how you are described "There's a huge box of metal in front of it and there are white bulges on it that start to glow red and green when you press on the round thingies."
@AncientSwordRage can we agree that a muppet RPG might contain some NSFW jobes by old puppets? And can we include Sesame Street?

*Statler and Waldorf cackling*

@Trish yes and yes
@Trish how I'm described?

Prepares shipping crates for shipping...
@AncientSwordRage eh, how you are described encounters - that tidbit is a fusebox. But the DM is actually banned from (ok, more: encouraged not to) using human names for some items to make it more Rat-focus.

1:51 PM
@Trish oh I get you. How encounters are described!

@AncientSwordRage yep. Like... "You stand in a thing of metal bars. Many of them. They criss cross. The ones going away from you all are over those that go left to right. Then, those bars also bend down at the edge of the tilted plateau, more bars offering easy climbing to the plateau going all around. And then there is that strange thing like the horns of an ant going up on either of the high ends of the plateau." What might that be?

Im not usually one to worry about downvotes, but sometimes they confuse me. Why would someone downvote my meta post?

@Trish cage? shopping basket?

@ThomasMarkov Change is bad, mmmk?

1:57 PM
@AncientSwordRage shopping cart actually.

@Trish I was close!
it sounds better for running a Rats of NIMH game than mouseguard

Has anyone ever played CRASH PANDAS?

@ThomasMarkov Nope, but I think i have a trash panda hound.

@ThomasMarkov No, but are the pc's real pandas, red pandas or trash pandas? Because only the last two are cute :3

@Trish It's about a group of raccoons driving a car in an illegal street race.

2:01 PM
@ThomasMarkov AMAZING

@ThomasMarkov so a group of trash pandas trying to be red pandas!

has anyone seen the choose your own adventure style racoon twitter thread

@ThomasMarkov Brilliant game concept

So each turn, each raccoon makes a decision about what theyre going to do with the car, such as turn/accel/brake, except youre not allowed to tell anyone your move, and then the GM resolves everyones moves for the car.

2:03 PM
You are a hungry raccoon. The start of Joe Sondow's twitter thread

@AncientSwordRage ye

@ThomasMarkov Critical Role did a one-shot of it if you're looking for some actual play

The Lost KittenAfter 30 years, a few of my friends and I finally managed to get together and play D&D. We've managed to play 2hrs once a week for the last 6 weeks. TW: sexual themes discussed

@ThomasMarkov doesn't hit the point at all, becasue MAID actually is meant to have some of that in, but not all the time

I think it's actually quite helpful... but eh
Since the problem there is the explicitness and detailedness of it, not its existence

@ThomasMarkov I have

@ThomasMarkov I tried to make the difference clear in the question I just threw.

2:33 PM
@Trish Good title.

apparently, Maids are like cats... catgirls? ;)

UwU
@Trish Perhaps I'm missing something with your MAID Q, but how is the issue specific to MAID and not just "my players would rather play silly sexy-time rpg than the actual purpose of the game, what do?"

@G.Moylan You might want to look at the MAID Rpg book... then you see how that book might put the expectations of the players into that corner.

yoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@G.Moylan Based on the genre of the game, it seems likely that passersby could infer "silly sexy time" as the inherent purpose of such a game.

2:40 PM
@G.Moylan which actually is a problem of lost in translation - the connotations of the Japanese text were lost and became somewhat creepy silly sexy time.

@Catofdoom2 hello Cat, remember our words yesterday about chat messages

Wouldn't that be solved by a conversation before actually playing to discuss intent?

@Catofdoom2 hello

@Trish Someone else noticed that and redirected the chaos - the game is called "Retail Magic" (drivethrurpg.com/product/140692/…) and it's about a magic item shop that works in a manner suitable for a children's fantasy cartoon: everything is exploding all the time and you'll probably turn into a newt and get better.

@Trish Is the japanese version different from the English? I'm not seeing something where sex has to be a part of the game.
And honestly, a trope of sexy maid harem that has a master they must obey and serve is a bit concerning from someone not familiar.

2:41 PM
@Glazius This reminds me, I need to work on adapting Candlekeep Mysteries into a Sofia the First campaign for my daughters.

@AncientSwordRage all i did is say good morning

@NautArch yes and no: a lot of connotations are lost in translation and made creepy sounding in English

@Catofdoom2 oh, there's nothign wrong with a hearty YOOOOO
I just remember that enthusiasm spilled over yesterday, into other messages :D

It's even acknowledged in the "nun Approved Files"
> So, the author basically wrote this game as a huge dose of ironic humor at this whole Maid phenomenon. As such, he used a lot of references, gags and dialogue text that can be best described as “sexy funny”. Problem is, when we did a straight-up translation into English, some parts came out as “creepy sexy”.

@NautArch This was my observation. Based on my brief perusal of the wiki page for the "harem anime" genre, it seems rather reasonable that an uninitiated reader would think silly sexy dating sim was the point.

2:43 PM
@AncientSwordRage enthusiasm is a good thing, isn't it?

I mean, this page simply says "optional rules for inter-character romance and secuction.. Which suggests...don't give them the option?
@ThomasMarkov But that would be uninitiated players, not random readers passing by.

@Catofdoom2 yes

but again, I haven't read the full rules.
But if the summary says sexytimes are optional...then don't give them the option.

@NautArch not reading the rules doesn't make it okay to break them

@Catofdoom2 it doesnt make it not un-okay to loosely observe them and interpret them obscurely either

2:46 PM
@ThomasMarkov wut?

@ThomasMarkov i'm so confused on what you're saying. that's a double negtive
@NautArch exactly

@Catofdoom2 I rest my case.

@ThomasMarkov what case!?
@ThomasMarkov that's a double negative

@Catofdoom2 Phoenix Wright: OBJECTION! Asked and answered.

Please don't confuse others wantonly!
I'm confused too
:D

Also, the Ensign of the Week redesign continues to be postponed until I have a playtest g

As a friend of mine likes to say: "Children must be confused, so they don't get burned."
(I assure you this is much less confusing in Finnish)

something something pickled fish?

WRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

2:52 PM
@kviiri So basically, slapping their hands when they try to touch the stove, and they get confused about why they got slapped

@Feeds @BardicWizard so you did get something written!

@ThomasMarkov More simply, it's because the same verb means both to "stir" and to "confuse" or "perplex"
Still, instilling confusion in controlled doses can be very good for anyone

@kviiri Oh my. Are you a witch boiling children? "They must be stirred or they will burn"

anyone want some apple sauce?!?

I would

2:55 PM
i got 8 right here

@Catofdoom2 home made or motts?

@NautArch haven't had homemade apple sauce in a long time
@NautArch so, it's some of that Musselman's unsweetened apple sauce

@NautArch I've never had home made

@Catofdoom2 nothanks.Motts FTW.
@AncientSwordRage I live in an area with lots of apples ;)
And I just planted 3 apple trees.

@NautArch gimme!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

2:59 PM
@Catofdoom2 I dont think Naut has 11 to give.

@Catofdoom2 They're pretty small still. Just about 4-5'. Not sure we'll get apples this year.

@NautArch I don't think there's a lack of apples in the UK
I've had Colmans before

Just that my region has a lot of apple orchards, too.

gimme apples!!

Hey is BW back? I thought they left.

3:04 PM
@TheDragonOfFlame I think they're on at other times mostly, and not for super long.

GcL
@NautArch Family farm has an orchard, but I still buy those cosmic crisps

@GcL We're very much a honeycrisp/pink lady family. And that's what I"m trying to grow now :)

@NautArch Apples? Jonagold all the way.

I've taken to Caracara, Blood, and Sumo oranges lately.
But I can't compare apples to oranges

@Catofdoom2 Pro tip: it takes an average of 6 years before apple trees start actually producing apples. As an old saying goes "The best time to plant a tree is 20 yeas ago. The second best time is right now"

3:14 PM
@RevanantBacon Hah, I like that

@kviiri The "when to plant a tree" bit? Yeah, I don't even remember where I heard it, but it's definitely true. Trees take FOREVER to grow :p

Is it just a local thing or are apple trees spliced as almost-a-rule in the States as well?
No wait, no, not spliced, what's the word...
Grafted
Grafting is honestly one of those magical things I almost couldn't believe when they told me about it in school.

Grafting is why the non-GMO crowd needs to get a better understanding of genetic modification.

My ex's aunt once grafted a tomato stalk to a potato rootstock, that's a nice trick

@NautArch Grafting is one of the reasons why the non-gmo crown needs a better understanding of genetic modification.
There's also stuff like selective breeding, which, for some reason, is also slapped under the GMO label

It is? I thought that was just normal breeding.
Like, the type we've been doing since time immemorial, as a species.

@kviiri Yes, that's the kind I'm talking about
the non-GMO people aren't the brightest bunch

Huh. I honestly haven't heard anyone conflate the two in opposition to GMO (in support, yes, to highlight species haven't exactly been immutable before either)
But we hail from different places, different cultures, different discussions

@TheDragonOfFlame Early in the UTC day I think but only for like 15 minutes a day?

And I don't just mean selective animal breeding, but also selecting the seeds from the largest/hardiest/best tasting/most pleasing to the eye fruits and vegetables as the seeds for the next generation
Which somehow also counts as genetic modification

There are of course good reasons to oppose selective breeding too, at least in it excesses

3:24 PM
@NautArch I've never gotten on with Pink Lady, but that may be just a supermarket thing

@AncientSwordRage Crispy deliciousness

too sweet for me, I like tart apples mainly

speaking of trees, our lemon trees never produced ... until last year. Then we had lemons overflowing. And then the Feb freeze came. We now have zero lemon trees, not two.

@kviiri Well, you really just have to avoid excess inbreeding, although other animals are far more tolerant than humans are.

@KorvinStarmast ouch

3:26 PM
For some reason, I understand that excessive inbreeding has made Dalmations into more difficult breed to deal with ... sorry, remembering a long ago conversation, not sure if it's even right

@KorvinStarmast Immediately thought of dogs, then realised you mean apples

@KorvinStarmast No, that's probably right. If I recall correctly, they were actually selectively bred for aggressiveness to guard the firewagons

@TheDragonOfFlame I mean dogs as regards dalmations. My favorite 'Dalmation' ever was the lady who was our tour guide in Croatia (along the Dalmation coast) - after the tour she said 'yes' to my invitation to dinner and we had a wonderful date. Sadly, ship pulled out the next day ... so it goes

It's also the reason that pugs look the way they do now

@KorvinStarmast oh I thought dalmation was a type of apple too or somthing IDK

3:29 PM
@RevanantBacon Yeah, I'm mainly concerned on the animal welfare side on the implications of dog phenotypes with poor implications on the animal's welfare (eg. being physically unable to breathe properly) and on the plant side, I can see the point for example in cases where most of the crop of a given plant is so closely related it becomes very vulnerable to illness or a particular pest and cannot adapt anymore

@kviiri for a severe cast of this, look up citrus disease; a major issue in Texas, Florida, California, and IIRC Arizona.

@kviiri Oh, yes, that definitely has to be watched out for.

@kviiri A couple more weeks until we get our genetic testing back on the dogs. I like the idea of contributing to that database (I do not like the idea of me sharing my own genetic code.)

@NautArch clone wars: don't let it happen in your life time! 😲

@NautArch Funny coincidence, my furry roomie's genetic testing just came back. Both parents are "supermixes", with dobermann being the "dominant" breed with 13% match.

3:33 PM
@kviiri I'm fulling expecting supermix.
WHich service did they use? I'm guessing FInland probably has their own, though...

Scare quotes because if the most prominent breed in her ancestry only claims 13%... she's very mixed I'd say. As a layman who doesn't know particularly much about dog breed genetics.

Still leaning on black and tan hound primarily.

@NautArch Hum, I could ask, I think the dog's owner is asleep but I'll try

@kviiri it's possible that it's just 13% that is unique to doberman

I'm in the luxurious state where I get to pet the pooch without having to take any responsibility

3:35 PM
@kviiri Does she look like a dobie?

@NautArch Not really. You might've actually seen a picture of her

@RevanantBacon i know they take years, i've had my own for about 4 years and it hasn't had 1 blossomn yet.

@Catofdoom2 did you reply to the right message?

@AncientSwordRage nope. i misclicked the name

few, now I know you're not planting dogs and growing them like trees

3:47 PM
sorry about that

@Catofdoom2 Yup, that sounds about right.

@AncientSwordRage how did you know!!??!
@AncientSwordRage wait, um, yeah i don't do that

@Catofdoom2 no problem :D

@RevanantBacon we had a really bad hailstorm beat up the tree so it might be a but slower growing still

@Catofdoom2 Did it break off many branches?

3:50 PM
i wish the video game site had a room like this. just people with common interests talking about whatever
@RevanantBacon about 34% of branches were broken I'd say but almost no leaves were left

Does Arqade not have a chat room?

@MikeQ yes, but it has a different culture than this one

@Catofdoom2 Oh, that's pretty bad. I'm surprised the tree survived something like that
@AncientSwordRage penecillin?

@RevanantBacon amoxicillin, I think

@MikeQ they do but its not a general chat you don't get to talk in it it's only those question notifications most of the time

3:53 PM
@G.Moylan Paracetamoxyfrusebendroneomycin

@RevanantBacon the dogs helped save the tree from a few hits
and now the tree has some good all-natural fertilizer.

@AncientSwordRage Gesundheit

nice, nobody is brave enough to respond to me!
lol

@Catofdoom2 sorry I'm multitasking multiple chats and work on a deadline, so I can't respond to everything promptly

lol
@AncientSwordRage it's perfectly fine

3:57 PM
@Catofdoom2 I'm curious on what the dogs did to protect an apple tree from a hailstorm

@RevanantBacon played fetch with the hailstones?

Chased the clouds down the street?

@AncientSwordRage I'm just imagining the dogs leaping around snatching hailstones out of the air anime-protagonist style.

They gave the trees a stronger bark

@RevanantBacon you know that noise a dog makes when it's hurt or if you step on its tail? the one that will break your hurt whenever you hear it?
