@GcL @Rubiksmoose Do feel like including the missing word in this comment for me? It's a spot too old for me to fix it myself :(

GcL
@Someone_Evil @Rubiksmoose can you make that the default duplicate post text for this site?

Q: Would a nuclear weapon be morbidly efficient against an Antedeluvian?

Ivan T.I am a warrior of God, fighting the menace that bloodsuckers present to humanity. They're grave sinners against our Lord, nothing short of hellspawn, and for that, they deserve nothing, but total extermination. Yet, I feel I have failed. One of the chief servants of Hell, something called among ...

@Someone_Evil Fixed :)

Q: Should/can we change the Duplicate notification?

HellSaintCurrently, the duplicate notification says This question already has an answer here: and links to the "original" question. I find this, at least, misleading, considering we close questions as duplicates if the questions are duplicates, not if "This question already has an answer somewhere e...

@Someone_Evil Nice try, but I know better than to wade into that mine meta field

4:05 PM
@HotRPGQuestions I haven't played much of Vampire the Masquerade, at all... BUt I guess a nuke would kill everything short of a god?
@GcL But... you suggested the change? (or I'm getting lost again :P)

So I've just edited multiple questions without realizing this pretty much obliterates the "Active" questions filter. I'm trying not to feel too awful, and am wondering how much damage will this cause?

GcL
@Helwar Yes, but I'm not going into meta. I don't have antlers or shiftable facets!

Hahaha. Fair enough

GcL
@Medix2 Probably none. They were actively edited, so it's not lying.

@GcL Well at the very least our Meta is better than MSE ;)

GcL
4:11 PM
@Rubiksmoose Which is better than having a cigarette put out on your bare arm.
Way better than a bear arm too. Those are connected to bears.
Which are not actually as snuggly as I wish they were.

@Medix2 There's not a ton of real harm. Just try not to flood the active page when possible, especially with trivial edits to older posts. People do use it to keep track of the major things happening.

GcL
Druid uses speak with animals, "I want a hug."
Bear replies, "I gave you a hug yesterday."

@GcL If the druid has the right to bear arms, then they are guaranteed a bear hug

I am very confused

I certainly do not recommend hugging actual bears.

GcL
4:16 PM
@MikeQ Isn't CONstitutional justification is mostly for barbarians?

@GcL Only in 5e. Otherwise, barbarians can't have lawfully protected arms, because lawful barbarians lose their angry powers

GcL
@MikeQ But the trade of is they can wear placate-mail armor.

@GcL Advantage on Charisma (Diplomacy) checks.

GcL
@Yuuki I thought it was a CONciliation check

Is there a way to re-ask a feature request? I'm mainly thinking about this question:
https://rpg.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/7681

GcL
4:27 PM
To bump it? or something different?

Yeah I suppose bump it, it just seems like a really good idea to me

GcL
Suggesting helpful defaults does seem like a good plan to me as well. It does appear that the suggestion selection is baked in a way similar to how the linked question operates.
Maybe ask the question on the mainsite meta?

They may be a bit too busy at the moment to implement a feature request

4:53 PM
you mean with the drama?

Devs should be separate from mods

Just noticed 41 active questions today, which is a bit more than I'm used to seeing. Everything normal?

wow

@nitsua60 The wish tag was added to a bunch of questions that should have had it.

Aah, gotcha. That'll do it. Thanks,

@nitsua60 What's a typical number of active questions?

5:01 PM
what's everyone's favorite map/building generator?

Beavers. They're very good at generating buildings.

:-\

5:15 PM
@MikeQ couple-dozen a day isn't unusual, but 41 in a couple hours caught my eye.

why do we have so many active questions

edits, I assume

@Gwideon More people drinking more coffee

5:41 PM
@goodguy5 Anyhow it will depend on what type of map you'd want to generate

@Gwideon Ah yeah apologies about the active questions thing, I edited through a lot of questions to add the [wish] tag without knowing/realizing that that marks them as "Active"

oh okay

5:58 PM
I'll probably just draw the darned thing. I just don't like taking pictures of drawings.

I want to sketch out this burned out orphanage

6:22 PM
@Yuuki I just read that in reddit :)

> In Unearthed Arcana today, three new subclasses march forward for playtesting: the Rune Knight for the fighter, the Swarmkeeper for the ranger, and the Revived for the rogue. Read them here: t.co/06hTg3BusW?amp=1

At last I can finally create Dr. Bees
With the power of bees, the ranger shall reclaim its position among the other classes

> Hill - Haug
> Fire - Ild
> Frost - Ise
> Stone - Stein
> Storm - Uvar
> Cloud - Skye
I think I can tell where the creative juices ran dry.

@Yuuki hahaha

Hmm... for Rune Knight's Rune Might (try saying that three times fast) feature, does your size change affect your weapons?

I would've settled for some Beast Master swap that allowed swarms, but having an angry bee cannon is way funnier

7:43 PM
Probably not, I think.

@Yuuki Sure, creative juices. That's just Norwegian with poor spelling. Haug, Ild, Is, Stein, Uvær, Sky.

That blurb for the Revived sounds so... broad. Like you could tack that onto any class.

@Yuuki I'm confused about it too. I think a teleporter subclass works for rogue, but I don't see how the rest of it (including flavortext) synergizes with the base class mechanics
Especially in a system where characters can be resurrected

GcL
@MikeQ You rarely here about them being surrected in the first place. Just always re-surrect them.

@Yuuki The mechanics are really unpolished too. As written, the 3rd level feature stacks with itself, eventually gaining proficiency with all skills and tools

GcL
7:55 PM
@Yuuki Aren't they supposed to run clear when it's done?

Gonna look at the UA in a moment, am trying to fill out the survey for the last UA.
I really, really, really hope the Twilight Cleric makes it to a Sourcebook, I was really excited for that one.

> When you gain this feature, roll 3d4. You grow a number of inches in height equal to the roll.
What system is this for again?

@MikeQ No, it doesn't: "You can replace this proficiency with another when you finish a long rest."

GcL
@Xirema I would, because I like plum bobs, but my trigonometry is too rusty to really provide any useful information.
@Someone_Evil The UA mystic nomad had something similarly as absurd

@Someone_Evil With a literal reading, "can" would mean the replacement is optional... no?

8:00 PM
> When you finish a long rest, you gain one skill or tool proficiency of your choice.

@MikeQ Oh, I see what you mean. I find it difficult to believe WotC doesn't have any pedantic they could run this stuff by on staff.

ugh copy-pasting from pdfs is so annoying

@Someone_Evil I think that person is us. XD

@Yuuki If I'm copy-pasting a truly large pdf I use a screen-reader and a speech-to-text function, but that's probably far less of a reasonable option to people besides myself
@Yuuki You can also copy-paste into a search bar and then copy-paste that to remove formatting (normally)

@Xirema You didn't get your check from them this month?

8:20 PM
@MikeQ Yeah, there's an easy fix, too: "When you gain this feature, you gain one skill or tool proficiency of your choice. At the end of a long rest, you can replace this proficiency with a different one."
Done. Loophole closed.
> Revived Capabilities
Uhh, do they think d3's are standard for most D&D players?
Like, I know you obviously just simulate it with a d6, but still.

a d3
i've never seen a d3

@Gwideon My d3 is a pyramidal barrel.

wow

One of my groups has a whole bunch of d3, used for a homebrew system. They also have d24, d30, and some other strange ones

I'm kind of meh on all these options. Granted, Fighter Ranger and Rogue are my least played classes, (and with Fighter and Rogue, I've only ever personally used them as 1-3 level dips for other characters), so maybe I'm biased in that way, but the only one really offering anything novel is the Rune Knight.

9:21 PM
@Xirema I am meh as well. This is "toss some noodles at the wall and see if any stick."

@Xirema But think of all the bee-related puns you could make as a bee ranger!

Hey did I offer good advice on that new question
1
A: What techniques can I use to seduce a PC without arousing suspicion of ulterior motives?

GwideonMy honest advice is to just make an NPC your players can grow attached to. Incorporate them into the story in a natural way and let the players make bonds with them naturally. I’ve done this before to great affect in a campaign I ran for friends a while back. I got the tiefling gunslinger attache...

9:38 PM
@Gwideon It could use more elaboration. How did you introduce and play the disguised NPC? How did you (as the NPC) avoid suspicion?

@Gwideon For starters, get a good graphics card. All the PCs love good graphics cards.

@Gwideon How did it work out?
@Gwideon If you have not already done so, a read of mxy's post on backing up answers is worthwhile.
The meat of that is: a good subjective answer should tend to:

1. Explain “why” and “how”
2. Be longer, not shorter
3. Have a constructive, fair, and impartial tone
4. Share experiences over opinions
5. Back up opinion with facts and references, including specific experiences
@Yuuki Unless their power supply can't handle it ... 8^o

@KorvinStarmast Yeah, a power supply's a better idea. A graphics card comes off as you wanting something quick, just playing around for a game or two. But a power supply shows commitment, that you're investing in a relationship.

@Yuuki Ah, but if you gift a GPU, you are being nice, but also 'forcing' the recipient to up their PSU, making -them- commit to the relationship!

Today in your fantasy settings aren't weird enough: there is a variety of banana called the Blue Java Banana which has the taste and texture approximating vanilla ice cream. It is even actually blue as it's growing on account of a waxy coating it produces, which fades as it matures.

@doppelgreener My wife will be interested. We can make a banana split without ice cream.

@KorvinStarmast So you can make a banana in a bowl!
:D

user15026
@doppelgreener My brain is having issues with comprehending this

user15026
like it immediately goes "no it has to be made up"

@Ash Same. Like, first: blue!?

user15026
10:11 PM
@doppelgreener Exactly. My brain is like "nope food doesn't come in that colour"

Well there's blueberries but .... they're not like that.
Blueberries aren't cyan.

user15026
Yeah, that's like crayon colour blue

Or turqoise!

I like Blueberries but if they are fresh it's a little too strong for some reason
they are great in baked goods though
XD

user15026
Blueberries and bananas both fall into "I like you as ingredients better than as food"

10:14 PM
@Ash Ah! The blue is a waxy coating it produces while it's growing. It fades away as the banana ages, revealing it to truly have been vaguely yellow all along.

user15026
@doppelgreener ooooh extra weird

@doppelgreener but why? XD
why do these banana's need a blue coating? XD

@trogdor Today's your fantasy settings aren't weird enough just got even better. Vibrant waxy fruit!

lol

Seeing as it's gone quiet, I'll pitch my Dungeon app again :) It's Live for Testing. If you want to join the Test Program, send me your GMAIL (or whatever email you have for your Google Account! You must have a Google Account to join a Google Play Testers List).
I'v enforced Landscape Mode, set Exports to go to Downloads Directory, and given it a Proper name! :)
Still working on Save/Load (actually the Save works fine, but Load does't!).
Screenshots, and advice on layout, from other devices would be most useful.

Q: The correct way to ask about RAW/RAI

jgn(I ask this as someone who mainly asks dnd5e questions) Whenever I ask a question I get a lot of replies in the vein of "at my table...", "when I dm...", "in games that I've played...", "a common houserule is...", "most dms...", few replies directly referencing the rule, and often none actually ...

Oh, this should end well.
