Don’t mind me, just doing customer service for someone in Antarctica.

@Xirema Haha well thats good enough to see where my mistakes are on that

1:17 AM
@BESW Nice

2 hours later…
3:06 AM
If I polymorph into a lich I don't have a phylactery right?

System? Method of polymorphing?

Windows 7, heat-shrinking.

If you polymorph using Windows, you'll need a phylactery and the twenty something patches and libraries to support it

Should be pretty easy to hide the phylactery, though:
(I can tell Randall Munroe and I are within a few years of age by the life-stage of his ZIP-disk usage.)

3:18 AM
Heh. My dad was an early adopter.
He had five or six daisy-chained devices at a time.

Also, wow. Been a long time since I saw a good old-fashioned campaign research question.
One of the purest examples I've ever seen, too.
1
Q: Size of family-owned farms

KSchankI’m attempting to draw some maps for a village I’ve dreamt up for a campaign in writing. Many towns and villages I’ve read about in published campaigns are home to a number of family-owned farms. I’m wondering... how big (by acreage and volume) were such farms in medieval times? How many square...

3:32 AM
Oh neat
Oh but it's kinda off topic huh?
Whoops

1 hour later…
4:44 AM
@nitsua60 you fiend, I disappeared down an XKCD hole because you left it lying around
I'll get you gadget
Next time
My equivalent of that excavation is probably the book I tried to write
I didn't hit a full page before I burned it
And not to a CD if you catch my drift
I never liked poetry very much so writing some poetry is just something I have never attempted
It feels like a story the author doesn't want you to know the details of

5:12 AM
So we found a cool magic weapon and fought a huge thing in yesterday's CoS
Was fun, although we survived the fight barely and mostly because I figured out the puzzle of the boss
And succeeded in three consecutive Dex saves vs fireballs and such, taking no damage while compleying said puzzle

Was it a weapon to surpass metal gear?

Was it a "microwave corridor"?
Wtv that is
I still don't understand the Metal Gear games I actually played

Everything I know about Metal Gear, I learned from awkwardzombie.

5:27 AM
Lol
That's how I know there is a microwave corridor

Including what a microwave corridor is!

But I have played a couple of the games

@MikeQ Sadly, I don't know yet. It needs attunement

@Miniman that doesn't fully explain,... Why it exists though
Which is kinda what I actually meant XD

@trogdor Oh! It's a corridor flooded with microwaves. So you're basically getting cooked as you walk through it. Presumably it's a security measure.

5:30 AM
@trogdor In-universe, it's a security measure to keep unwanted people out of the server room. Other than that, the designers probably wanted to honor the first game's minigame of button-mashing to survive torture.

But that's a dumb security measure
Sooooo dumb
It means you can't put techs on that sub to maintain it and keep everything working until it does what you want
XD
But that being said

MGS is a dumb series

@kviiri yes

Unless they swipe their access pass to switch it off while they walk down it? Or put on their hazard suit?

I was going to say it in aore convoluted way but that works

5:33 AM
Adorably dumb, but still, it makes very little sense in many places x) and Kojima kept retconning it all the time to make it even less and less sensible

@Miniman but that's obviously not a thing because then Snake, or whoever it was, would steal that #_-$#$ immediately

A metal box would work against the microwave corridor

MGS is dumb
XD

And Snake uses boxes all the time

@kviiri thankfully I quit playing any of them way before I found out he was returned conning stuff
MGS is dumb

5:34 AM
@trogdor But of course the bad guy's plan was for Snake to actually get through so IT MAKES SENSE for the security measure to be a bit daft x)

@kviiri then why have it? Aaaasssasdggfhchggh
XD

@trogdor If he was that smart, he would've gotten the robot to do it without him. Or at least to scout ahead.

M.G.S I.S .D.U.M.B
I had a couple worker who was obsessed with making MGS make sense

@trogdor Each installment of MGS makes more and more sense. Not more sense than the one preceding it, though, but definitely more sense than the one following it.

It was basically torture having him around
@kviiri looooooooooooool
The first game almost made sense at all
Almost
It was definitely downhill from there
Honestly I almost wish I only knew MGS from awkward zombie
That would be great

5:38 AM
MGS 3 is also remarkably sensible, to be honest. Although its sensibility has been retconned away.

As is though I do only Know the newer games mostly by awkward zombie so it's fine
@kviiri which one is that? Is it snake eater?

@trogdor yep

Ok cool
I agree with you then
I don't know about the ret cons, I'll take your word for it on that

Original version: A defecting US agent collaborating with a rogue Soviet Colonel causes a diplomatic incident which Snake has to defuse to prevent WWIII.

It was definitely still silly but it also almost made sense

5:41 AM
Post-retcon, it was all America's plan after all and there were spies everywhere to ensure Snake stayed on rails and completed the mission

That is soooo dumb
Repeat after me kids

Speaking of ridiculous writing and over-the-top storytelling, I've been wondering if there's a good JoJo's TTRPG that's easy to pick up. A while ago I suggested using M&M3e because it has some potentially applicable mechanics, but the system (especially character creation) is too cumbersome.

MGS is dumb

@trogdor MGS is dumb!

It is it is!
XD

5:43 AM
Although I must admit, MGS made a lot more sense to me after I realized how much anime tropes it uses

I'm glad I neglected to play most of those games ater the first one and Snake eater

Not the plot, but "why is it like that".

Lol

@trogdor MGS V is actually a superb game, save for a few annoyances. The plot is still stupid of course.

That's,... The newest one right?
The game play looks fine from what I have seen but

5:45 AM
Well, there's Metal Gear Survive which I think is a bit different in terms of genre

But that's like a spin off or something right?

I guess, yuh

I mean the newest like main title game I guess

MGS V has some stupidities of its own, like forced multiplayer

Huh?
Really?
I didn't even hear of that

5:49 AM
It's sort of an indirect multiplayer. IIRC you have a base, and other users can interact with it

Yep, you have a Forward Operating Base (FOB) that you can upgrade with security and other players can raid it for resources

Oh
X(
That R Dumb

MGS V also has an obviously fanservicey sniper partner for Snake

At the very least that should be optional
Oh quiet
Believe me I heard the nuclear fallout on that one

@trogdor Okay
(just kidding) :)

5:52 AM
Apparently she has an MGS is Dumb reason for the fanservice right?
Not that that was not a thing to expect in MGS

@trogdor Yes! Kojima made a huge point about her fanservice being important and that once people understand why she's scantly clad, they'll be ashamed. ... turns out she breathes through her skin.

One had fanservice character,... As did snake eater I think
Though don't remember nuclear levels of MGS is dumb to justify them ...... Not that that should Matter I guess?

Sniper Wolf is about as fanservice as PS1 could produce :>

MGS is dumb
Nuff said XD
@kviiri that was it
Has he heard of the thermian argument?
XD
@kviiri fair enough

I was going to say MGS 4 doesn't have much fan service but ayayay... now I remembered the bosses of the game.

5:55 AM
I think I mean Merle from either two or snake eater

@trogdor What's that?

Oh god now I have to find that
@BESW help me oh be one besw you are my only hope
XD

I'll summarise it but the video on it is better
Oh there we go

@kviiri That's not quite as dumb as it sounds - absorbing oxygen through your skin would prevent the noise and movement that regular breathing involves, both of which (especially the movement) are problems for snipers. Still pretty absurdly stupid, obviously.

5:58 AM
TLDW it's the idea that it's still the authors fault if he made an in universe explanation for his stupid idea

"Quiet is scantily clad because she needs to breathe weird" should be flipped to "Quiet breathes weird because the designers wanted a reason for her to be scantily clad". I think that's the point, yes?

The video is very good for explaining it though

Basically, the Thermian argument (named for the aliens in Galaxy Quest who don't understand fiction and think all TV shows are documentaries) is defending a criticism about how a piece of media interacts with the real world, with a justification that it makes sense within the media's fictional reality.

@MikeQ that is a big chunk of it yeah

That is, defending a choice made by a creator, by treating the fiction as if it were not defined by creator choices.

6:01 AM
@trogdor Ok, the concept was familiar to me. The explanation was superb though
@MikeQ Yep. And many fans called Kojima out for it, too, because assuming her condition to be the kind of "oh my, now I feel sorry for objectifying her!" momebt he ostensibly went for was quite the low point for his alleged genius touch for making good characters.
Should be noted that there are dozens of characters in the game who have the same condition as Quiet but who do wear combat suits.

(The Thermian Argument as a form of criticism/reviewership is also a significant subset of video reviews; see "everything wrong with" lists.)

@kviiri Lol

@kviiri Sometimes I run into an online discussion about theory, criticism, media creation, etc., and I just want to set up a Clockwork Orange style viewing of Dan Olson's and Lindsay Ellis's video essays.

6:27 AM
Lol
Kinky
Also horrible but kinky
If you're into wtv that would be called

Hey guys. Just want to throw out there, I just DM'ed my best session ever with TPK encounter.
These players rolled so much nat 20, it's not even funny
And to top it off, the fight ended with our fighter rolling with advantage on a shot into a cloud of darkness where our dragon enemy was hiding waiting for his breath weapon to recharge (black dragons are cowards). The roll for both d20's? Both nat 20's. I had to give him quad damage because that was too cool.
It ended up killing the dragon outright, ending the entire encounter, but that's a good note to go off on.
(so it ended up not being a TPK)

@JohnCarroll That's awesome! I'm glad the game ended in a way that you and yours players enjoyed.

6:43 AM
It ended up being so good with multiple clutch moments. I had the sunsoul monk transported into the Ethereal Plane to fight a shadow monk for a chance to ascend and get game-changing abilities mid-fight. The shadow monk took him down to 1 hp with a nat 20. My player responded with a nat 20 of his own and destroyed the opponent. This session was stupidly lucky.

Grats!

This level 5 party ended up fighting 11 monsters each at ~CR 3 over the course of 4 hours in one encounter. They halted the god from summoning more and somehow survived the ones that had already been summoned. Truly impressive. They felt it too. The session ended 3 hours ago. Still coming off of the high.

7:00 AM
Nice

@BESW I'm considering switching to Fate for my upcoming games, based on doppelgreener's recommendation from a while ago. But I'm accustomed from DMing more rigid systems like D&D. Do you have suggestions on how to adapt to Fate's style?
It seems to have a very different approach in terms of the DM's and players' roles and how the narrative and gameplay are structured
(This is an open question to anyone experienced with the Fate system)

Hmm.
Some relephant posts...

Q: How do I introduce an inexperienced player to the FATE combat system?

Chuck DeeOne of the things that I love about the FATE system is how flexible it is; even given the less than crunchy nature of the system, you have options galore. That's given one of my players analysis paralysis: in combat, she can't really function all that effectively and it's not satisfying to her c...

Q: How Fate games could go wrong and how to prevent that

K.L.I'm introducing a few of my friends to the Fate system, and we're using Fate Accelerated for a quick start. Reading answers for some questions on this site I found an interesting paragraph: One of the biggest, IMO, difficulties for traditional players is the proactive creativity that Fate bol...

I suppose I'm asking from more of a newbie Fate DM perspective. Based on the srd it seems the players have much more storytelling power in shaping the plot itself

Yeah, it's definitely got that option.
Groups can scale it back however much they want, but I really like the collaborative play element. [ponders]
Some rules of thumb I've found to be helpful:
- The only scene you have full control over is the opening of the session. If there's something you think "this MUST happen," have it happen first.

(Contrast it to systems where player agency extends to their character's decisions and abilities to resolve challenges; the DM has all the notes and set-pieces, controls the NPCs and world, and communicates the narrative to the players)

- Ask questions. Open communication channels with the players by asking them for input directly.
This, for me, stems from Fate's principle that you never invoke the randomization mechanic unless you can imagine something interesting happening no matter what outcome it gives you.
So if it seems like the players want to roll the dice and I can't think of interesting outcomes, I ask them what they imagine happening!
If you don't know why a player's doing something, ask 'em.
If you can't choose between two things, tell the players and ask for their input.

8:58 AM
Basically, the DM is expected to be more democratic and less dictatorial?

I like using Lady Blackbird's "leading questions" principle, too.
Yup.
As for players' ability to directly, mechanically influence play: Fate points and the Create Advantage action are the tools there and they're awesome.
Because you CAN play that Fate points and CA are limited to character agency but really that's boring.

The main appeal, for now, is the separation from character agency and character ability
Looks like the "things do what the mechanics say they do and nothing more" rule doesn't apply in Fate?
As in, I'm hoping for a "things do what they say they do, plus anything that can be justified by a creative explanation" standard
Unless I'm misunderstanding how aspects and actions and fate points work

Sorry, I'm making dinner and stuff.
> The Golden Rule of Fate: Decide what you’re trying to accomplish first, then consult the rules to help you do it.
> The Silver Rule of Fate: Never let the rules get in the way of what makes narrative sense.

No worries... My goal is to move away from systems where players have a fixed toolset, develop strategy, and react to challenges, and move to a system where players are given a general direction and fill in the rest with creativity

> The Bronze Rule of Fate: In Fate, you can treat anything in the game world like it’s a character. Anything can have aspects, skills, stunts, stress tracks, and consequences if you need it to.

9:10 AM
How easy is it to introduce external/homebrew subsystems into Fate's architecture

Super easy. Check out the toolkit!

I'm not seeing too many built-in dice mechanics that use uniform distributions
Seems mostly gaussian/normal per the -1,0,+1 dice
If I introduced a new mechanic that uses uniform distributions, would that break things, or be too incongruous with what the system is trying to achieve?

I'd ask myself why I wanted to do that.

Let's say randomized character attributes in character generation, e.g. appearance, accessories, personality quirks

The fudge dice curve has distinct effects on gameplay: because unmodified outcomes drift toward zero, there's less fear of failing at things you're not good at, and even one invoke is a significant advantage.
It shouldn't break things to do that in chargen, no. Though... [rummages]

9:19 AM
So if the subsystems/mechanics are used frequently, they should stick to the drift-toward-zero model?

Not necessary, but it's more elegant.
The fudge dice curve should be used for resolving the outcomes of significant/interesting choices during gameplay. Character generation is kinda different, I guess.

Alright, I'll keep looking into this. Thanks for the initial suggestions.

9:39 AM
I suggest that, if possible, you start out using a pre-made setting like one of the Worlds of Adventure for Fate

what distribution are you running on it? raspbian?

@Carcer I didn't know, had to ask. Yes, raspbian

if I tell you to open a terminal are you going to run screaming?

no
i have opened dozens of terminals since I work here (six months ago)

okay

Ok
I've saved it in a bookmark, I'll check it in 2 hours when I get back,
I have to go they close the office for lunch :P
I'll tell you how it went later, thanks!

11:05 AM
sadly I don't have a linux machine handy to experiment with atm (I'm home sick)

@Carcer No need, thank you anyway! And get better!
I'll be back in 2 hours, sorry for leaving just when you are helping me >_<

s'cool
go get lunch

1:10 PM
hooray, AmE/BrE dialect arguments

1:20 PM
Can't say I didn't try with this question on relationships, but It hink this is starting to highlight a potential meta issue on stackable questions that have unstackable answers and what we can do to improve the community.

yeah that one is a tricky one
to be honest the top answer is the best on topic answer we could give for it

It applies generally to every similar type of question where a good answer needs to be general. The stack just doesn't seem to do well with those types of questions by providing and upvoting answers that aren't stackable.
We want those questions to be here, but we can't seem to answer them appropriately. So this just keeps happening.
I used to try and close them as Opinion-Based, but I've tried to hold off on those types of closures now. The problem is that they generate opinion-based answers that get upvotes, perpetuating the cycle.

@Carcer To be fair, when it comes to mechanical terms in 5e I do think we might want to use the spelling that the books uses.

@Rubiksmoose Nah. When it avoids potential confusion with similar terms I'm on board with being specific, but there is no use for being so specific otherwise

Opinions are quite Stackable. Unsupported opinions are not Stackable.

1:28 PM
@BESW Right - but those types of questions often generate unsupported opinions that get upvotes.
and that's the problem.

@NautArch the answer that basically goes "obviously you're actually falling in love with the player" is quite egregious

Yeah, the problem is that some users think certain kinds of questions are exempt from the site's basic policies.

@Carcer egregious...but not necessarily wrong.

That's... not really a question problem.

I mean, sure, that was my first thought too

1:29 PM
@BESW Nope, it's not a question problem. It's an answer problem.
And that's a community problem.

but if the OP says "no, we are just friends" then I can accept that at face value

@Carcer because people are always honest about their feelings, especially in public forums? But yeah, I agree that in this case, we have to accept it.

there's nothing in the question which is fundamentally incompatible with that assumption
and I have definitely known people who could have had this kind of problem without any kind of OOC romantic attachment going on

@Carcer I'm not sure I agree with "no use". Using two different spellings of a word in the same context in one answer can be very confusing. I'm not set on this and I don't think it is a huge issue I'm just not sure I see a compelling reason not to use the spelling as written in the book for important mechanical words.

On the one hand, correcting regional spellings in order to adhere to a quirk of publishing locale is going to make the Stack less friendly and welcoming to people who are already often struggling uphill to learn the site's protocols, may be working with amateur translations of the manuals into their native language, etc.

1:36 PM
@Rubiksmoose They're clearly the same word, though. I don't see how there's any realistic confusion

On the other hand, standardized spelling makes it easier to find the material later using the search functions.

@BESW so big search engines will already automatically fuzzy-match dialectal spelling variants

@Carcer I meant confusing for those searching.

@Carcer Right, but our search is pickier.

@BESW maybe that's the kind of thing that should be suggested as a site improvement then

1:38 PM
On the balance I think standardizing spelling to match the books doesn't add more benefit than the effort is worth, especially when considering the gatekeeping element.
And that a lot of our users are using regionalized versions of the books too!

@BESW Might using different regional spellings also potentially confuse those same people that may not have english as a first language?
Or I should say whose English is not super confident.
@BESW I don't think we should require it necessarily (especially since it would be very hard to enforce and would cause some of the problems you bring up.
I do think it might be something we can do with our own answers to make them a bit more friendly to read and search is all.

@Rubiksmoose you mean color/Colour or Aluminium/aluminum stuff, right?

@Trish "maneuver"/"manoeuvre" is the case in question at the moment, as per rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/131964/…

@Trish but with regard to more mechanical words ^
but you could potentially use armor/armour

I haven't seen anyone cite spelling confusion as a barrier to using the site, whereas I have encountered multiple reports of people finding spelling "correcting" hostile and personally affronting ("What, my region isn't as good as yours?"), significantly reducing their desire to participate in the site at all.

1:41 PM
@BESW That is a good point.

@NautArch armor/armour actually CAN make a difference: one can be capitalised to be a god... the other could be French for love.

@Trish One could be an eel

The only non-theoretical "problem" I'm aware of which might be fixed by editing others' spelling to match the rulebooks, is improving search results using the site's native engine. That's better fixed at the mechanical level rather than the policy level, and the vast majority of our traffic uses Google anyway.

And fwiw I hope people don't take my bringing this up as trying to forward a US-centric spelling. I honestly don't care how words are spelled in general and have been known to use some British spellings myself (as a result of reading a bunch of Brit lit).

@Trish ...only if you mispell it.
@Rubiksmoose america first?

Q: Should questions be closed because there are speculative answers?

user28291Why is the word "Rötschreck" spelled with an Umlaut? was temporarily closed with the reason that it is 'drawing primarily speculation/opinion' (emphasis mine). I'd like to point out that there is a difference between speculative answers that propose a theory based on facts and ones of opinion an...

1:43 PM
@NautArch dear god no.

This is kinda where I was going, but taking it to the next level of how do we educate the community to NOT answer like that without having to police good questions because of bad answers.

@NautArch dear, we had that LAST year! and we closed that stuff as "Designer Reasons = OT!)

@Trish I'm not going down the DR rabbit hole :) This is more about how do we get the community to provide better answers so we don't need to hold/close good questions.

@Rubiksmoose Yeah, that's exactly the kind of attitude that a standardizing policy will imply, though, regardless of actual motive.

@BESW To be clear I was never requesting a policy here.

1:46 PM
Fair enough.

But I don't disagree that that would be the unfortunate consequence of such a policy.

@NautArch I would say "if it is a Game Term, it becomes a technical term. Technical terms have only one spelling (IUPAC says it is Aluminium!)"

Just... yeah. I don't see any compelling reason that such an effort will produce more good than harm, and even if it comes out neutral that's still effort better spent elsewhere.

@BESW Fair enough. Just something that tickled my brain this morning.

@Trish Sorry, that was more about my concern about unsupported opinion-based answers getting upvotes and leading to question closures.

1:48 PM
@Rubiksmoose It's worth revisiting every now and then, sure! And that's just my conclusion based on my own understanding of the situation. If somebody produces actual examples of non-standardized spelling causing harm then of course I'll re-consider with that in mind.
@NautArch Maybe it's just time to break out the "Please avoid unsupported speculation" comment again.

@BESW Yeah, I'm definitely okay with altering spellings in cases where it does actually save on confusion - I just can't think of any off the top of my head, and can say for the record that I am aggravated when my spelling is edited for no other reason than to conform to dialect. I taught myself not to do that to Americans a long time ago

@BESW Did that solve the problem in the past (at least temporarily?) I did put up a meta about it.

My own spelling/grammar probably drives people up the wall because it's a mashup of Americanisms, Britishisms, local dialect, and BESW-specific nonsense.

@BESW but even with that comment, upvotes still happen and the community continues on it's merry way of not listening.

@NautArch It's all a question of community education.

1:54 PM
@Carcer Fwiw Carcer I do hope you do not feel that I am attacking you or the way you spell things. Just kind of exploring the topic aloud. It was not my intent for sure.

@Carcer I agree... I fought some editwars about citation technique done to my posts.

@NautArch So throw in a link to the relephant meta or help page, and perhaps flag as poor quality if it persists.
Ultimately, the community drives the site.

@Rubiksmoose don't worry, I don't feel that way at all

@BESW 100% - but how do we educate? That's the point of my question :)

An educated community can push the site to improve its quality, but if the community decides it wants to do something I disagree with... I'm out of luck if I can't persuade the gestalt.

1:56 PM
@Carcer Happy to hear it :) Never hurts to be too sure though.

@BESW Very much so - but it still goes back to how do we get the community to do this? I guess my question may get downvotes and the answer may be "we can't, the community doesn't do what we ask them to and that's the way it is"

Argue your position eloquently and give us a call to action using, as appropriate, comments, votes, and flags.
Comments/votes/flags are how you propagate an idea from meta into the mainsite environment.

@BESW And when that doesn't seem to have an effect? Are there alternative paths? I'm guess I'm saying that the standard response doesn't seem to be doing what we want it to with regard to these types of questions and asking if there are other ideas.
When the call to action is keep on keeping on, but that keeping on isn't working seems silly.

Hopefully meta will produce good brainstorming ideas?
Some years ago there was meta discussion about how very few mainsite users knew that help/meta/chat existed, much less how to use those tools, and that the site had an unwelcoming attitude.

2:02 PM
@BESW that's my hope!

I had a lot of free time, so I spent several months leaving a welcoming comment for every new user, directing them to the help, and the meta, and the chat, as seemed appropriate.

@BESW threw in my opinion. BIU and G/BS

Others picked it up, and a change in the site's education and attitude was noticeable within six months.
I've stopped leaving welcoming comments except on rare occasions, but the culture change of linking users to meta and help as needed seems to have stuck around.
> It's important to ["back it up,"](http://meta.rpg.stackexchange.com/q/3204/4398) so answers should cite experience or other practical support of the concept.

anecdotal comedy: It wasn't until relatively late in life that I learned that artefact and artifact were just dialectal variants. Because of the context I had seen the terms used in, I'd developed the impression that "artefact" was as for objects, and "artifact" was specifically for visual compression-related effects

Hee.
For a while as a kid I thought 'artefact' was a pretentious affectation like "ye old shoppe" because I'd only encountered it in overwrought fantasy novels.

2:10 PM
also understandable

But then, my context for what books thought was normal was always a little skewed.
I thought it was very exciting and exotic when Henry Huggins took a bus to the Y.

Play around in english and ell stacks for dialect fun.

Eh, I tried english.se several years ago and left quickly because of all the people who thought it was appropriate to use formal debate rhetoric in casual discussions.

na, you want to go to LATIN SE for all your "you can't write this" "Sure, I can, it's church latin around XXX" "Na, it has to be THIS in XXX, you write THAT only in YYY"

a short visit to the latin stack informed me how much I'd either forgotten or never learned in the first place.

I will now write answers exclusively in a transcription of my greatuncle's yorkshire dialect (the super exaggerated one he deliberately used when talking to extended family who were not from Yorkshire)

Q: Standardization of English, etc.

KRyanIn a recent (otherwise quite solid) edit of “Will changing an artifact sword to another weapon type impact game balance much?”, @okeefe changed the British spelling “artefact” to the American spelling “artifact.” Searching our meta, I see no rule regarding whether a particular spelling is prefer...

NautArchThis is somewhat related to this question on question closure due to speculative answers, but it goes a bit further. I'd be the friendliest guy around because all I know is mellon.

@DavidCoffron

@Helwar I wish I knew enough to just have a conversation in Elvish to confuse people

I name things in my games by referring to the Dwarf Fortress language tables

Blue flame? Sounds a bit StarCraft to me

my life for aiur

@Carcer Incidentally, I learned recently that click quotes are also a thing in WoW.

@Carcer I constantly quote that while playing online, any time I'm dying :)

I don't wanna do elvish Captcha solutions.

@Miniman Whenever you read this, I gotta let you know I really appreciate that advice on Bladesingers. Was extremely insightful.

@Carcer I still haven't tried what you told me before, one of my coworkers is hogging the raspberry u_u
