Basically the only thing in the chat that happens after 10k is that profanity flags from Russian StackOverflow become visible

The only ones that ever come up are from Russian StackOverflow where they swear like sailors

(There's actually a user who dislikes being above 20K because of the privileges and so will often go on a bounty-spree when they nudge across 19K.)

At 2k, edits go without peer review. That's at least one of those people don't always want.

One of the normal use cases for that is losing 100 rep due to having a post deleted for being spam or rude/abusive. Because that indicates you were less prepared than we thought for the privileges you have earned.

Anyone have a good print-on-demand service they like? If the prices are reasonable there are a number of .pdf rpg products that I'd probably use more if I had them staring at me when I turn to those shelves.

I think there's a lot of metaphor shear in RPGs, especially for users who approach it by, for example, treating game rules as physical laws.

I think it's also a useful term when talking about stances.

@BESW I'm going to have to do a more than cursory reading about this later tonight.

I think the more time we spend in actor stance, the more susceptible we are to metaphor shear.

I don't even know if my character is proficient in shears... ;)

So talking about how to maintain "realism" and "immersion" is really talking about how to avoid metaphor shear.

There does seem to be a lot of "fight me" around peoples' attachment to actor stance.

Well from what I'm understanding this is clearly one of those things that seems like it would devolve into "no my way of thinking is right" when really, we are just talking about the different ways people perceive and enjoy things.

Not really. There's no need for prioritization or exclusive choice.

My group bounces between the stances multiple times in a single evening: they're tools that can be used as needed.

Some groups only ever use one tool and that works fine for them, but I think it's useful just to know it's not the only tool available even if you never use any of the others.

I liked TMNT 2012 a lot, but I've been otherwise lukewarm on the Turtles so I don't have a lot invested in any other iteration.

Additionally, the Turtles are 4 different breed of Turtle (I believe Leo is a Snapping Turtle?) And Master Splinter, formerly meant to be the Wise Old Tutor, well past his fighting days, now looks like he has rabies.

And that he uses that to his advantage

Apparently there's a TMNT RPG, (terrible system), and to create the original 4 turtles, you effectively have to break the rules of character creation. But, their is an expansion of "after the bomb" or something like that, where Anthropomorphic animals are the main population in the world, and there is a short comic on the back of the supplement, where 4 turtles "return home". An elder responds with "Mikey?" to which they reply "No, Master, Mikey is gone.."

And it's not like the whole thing didn't start as a mean parody taken waay too far. I have a hard time taking "changed it now it sucks" seriously before we've even had a chance to see the thing. (DuckTales diehards, anyone?)
