00:00 - 22:0022:00 - 00:00

10:00 PM
I miss Muds sometimes... :/

We had one guy trying to make a wolf pack sort of thing and use his position as "leader" to try to take advantage of female characters
Stopped that really quickly

IRE?

Yeah

There was one dude that played his character in a way that he was supposed to be innocent/naive/clueless about things, but he used this as an excuse to get closer and closer to my character and then grope her. I wasn't that great at putting my foot down at this time in my life, but eventually I did.

It was innocuous at first, obviously, to get people to join his group. But then we found out what he was doing and I went maybe a little bonkers

10:02 PM
But that dude would find me all the time.

I'm not sure what that acronym means

Iron Realms Entertainment

ah

It's a company that has the same server-basis for their MUDs
@Nyoze Me too. I just can't let myself play them

ah

10:03 PM
And honestly, at this point, it's mostly missing them because I loved making systems for them

I've not personally played a MUD with a tile interface, and people sometimes balk at the idea because "it's not MUD-like!" But I feel like there are probably at least a couple out there by now.

But now I'm going to hopefully satisfy that urge by making an app for shadowrun!

@Codeacula make shadowrun into a mud :P

@Nyoze Maybe after. :P

So are there any non-command based MUDs?

10:08 PM
I already have an idea for an Avatar MUD I want to make flap
@Sandwich I'm not sure that's poosible

Its possible
I played a game on BYOND that was a FF4 clone

@SPArchaeologist I actually have played Everyone is John once, my objective was not pony related at all

But you could choose one of the classes and walk around
Get into random battles, level up, etc.

How would you do anything? Or do you mean command in the sense of...

Like you used WASD
To move around
Final Fantasy Style

10:09 PM
Yeah, I was about to make that comparison
When I read "command based" I'm thinking of "sending commands", in which case even WASD is a command

It was like that but multiplayer

Because you're commanding your avatar to move in a direction

Sending commands would be like
LOOK
MOVE

Yeah, I get it now :)

JAZZHANDS

10:11 PM
But if you don't JAZZHANDS how will anyone know when you're done talking?

I always used JAZZHANDS when I was in the middle of talking :(

Now, for S&G's, I want to make a MUD based solely on quick-time events

You should make a MUD with randomly generated dungeons that you can walk around in on a sprite populated game board
LIKE CASTLE OF THE WINDS
But multiplayer

I should make a Shadowrun 5e website so we'd finally have some decent tools for chargen and campaign management :(

You should, but licencing :(

10:16 PM
Nah, licencing isn't an issue
As long as I don't give copies of book content to everyone
Now, I can give it to my "friends"

Ah, fair enough then.

(I asked their legal about it)
Since they're partnered up with Hero Labs they don't exactly condone it, but
They technically can't stop it as long as I'm not wholesale putting in the rules
AND giving them out to the public
My other hope is I can make this a framework for others to work off of for RPG's that could benefit from it
I dislike that Hero Labs charges so much, but I can't fault them for it because they're trying to make money

29.99 is really expensive

Yeah, money helps....

It'd have to be REALLY good software for me to justify that kind of drop

10:23 PM
It's not just that, but it's 29.99 + 29.99 for every other book
Sorry, 9.99
But, also
I want to use my tablet
And my fiancee's tablet
And my smartphone

So you buy the stuff on one and then use ES File manager to port the files over

Or, I can use the opportunity to learn a new style of coding, play with a new database, and make a web-based tool that I can give to everyone and hopefully not be as buggy as the other free alternatives :D
Or make some progress and give up

xkcd helpfully diagrams pluto's secretive features.

Nice!

Isn't Mons an abbreviation in latin for the word mountain
Wouldn't that make "Mount Mons" "Mount Mountain"?

10:31 PM
Yep

yes :D

Heh heh. That's funny.

10:42 PM

Am I late?

For what, Maid? We haven't started yet. Probably in an hour or so.

Great.
Is everybody here?

@Pixie Plutoception
But like everything in that show is shaped like hearts though

@Sandwich shhhh

10:47 PM
Lol

It is definitely not a completely expected coincidence. :v
No, not at all. :v

I can't star a post on my phone :(

(personally, I think it looks more like Mr. Peabody.)

Remember that old cartoon called Time Squad

@Pixie hahaha, great.
@BESW this is also good, and I can see that being a Mr Peabody as well.

10:59 PM
@Sandwich barely

@Sandwich bearly

I probably saw,... 1 or 2 episodes of it

same here, but also i wanted to do bear-based wordplay

Your honeyed words are turning me on Doppelgreener
I cant bear the fact that we live in two different countries

Haha!
bear references.

11:06 PM
Also
BEARORISM

OH NOOOOO
THE WORST

So who all here does the pony thing

in what sense

@Sandwich I think it's just going to be you, Nyoze, and Althis, if you mean Maid.

Watches episodes, enjoys ponies

11:13 PM
I do not watch episodes but I enjoy the stuff that gets posted in chat

Alright, that's a good one

Actual real-life TCG playmat:

Thor needs to get a move on. This thunder is ridiculous.

11:23 PM
One of those things where it's light and breezy outside one moment, then you look outside and see a) it is very dark and b) the wind has stopped. That's when you know it's about to get real. :B

The embalmed head of the director of Nosferatu has been stolen from his grave in Germany. Occult connections are suspected due to wax residue found nearby--also because someone stole the head of Murnau how is that not going to make you think "occult"?

Welp Germany is gonna have some vampire problems pretty soon
Best get out the Vampire sourcebooks and garlic

And/or a silent film renaissance.

I could deal with a German silent film renaissance.

Just as long as it isnt French

11:34 PM
I like French silent films toooo. :P But I gotta say, German Expressionist are my favorite.

And, after a brief trip down the Wikipedia rabbit hole, we find that "2nd Phone Booth Youth" would be a great name for a band.

Our is "The The Illuminati"

"The The The Illuminati"
Because there are three Thes
Which makes a triangle

("2nd Phone Booth Youth" is the role description for Willem Dafoe's part in The Hunger. Dafoe played the lead role in Shadow of the Vampire, which is a re-imagining of the filming of Murnau's Nosferatu.)

11:50 PM
Oooo, a Shadowrun question!

That sounds like it'd make a great Techno song Besw
Lets turn that into Hexadecimal and make a song out of it
