@luserdroog Patience is key with cats. Just give them time, and have your mom/any guests give them space and let them approach :)

And just like that: we have progress. Last night at my bedtime they were snoozing on the bed with just enough room for me to squeeze in next to them. A little gentle petting and they both rolled over for belly rubs.
I'm also eager to get them used to brushing. I found a tiny spot of matted hair on Fannie so now I want to make sure there aren't any other matted spots on either of them.

Hi all. Needed your views about this. This puppy usually comes near to me hoping for food and then he would sit near me and sleep.

Today, I noticed something strange. He just wanted to sleep. Like he is very tired. But he slept away from others. Then he came towards me but unlike other days, he didn't even try to look towards me nor hoping for any food and went away.

Also, it looked like it had some walking difficulty.

I tried to call him but looked like he wasn't energetic. Usually it comes near to me when I make some noise, but this time it didn't happen.
It didn't look afraid of anything. He just wanted to sleep.

@Vikas I am so much not a vet nor an expert, but I think something is amiss.
No idea what exactly, though.
Yeah. The way it behaved and especially walk looked different than before. Is it possible it got infected with same disease from its sibling? (The dead body was removed from there after 2 days)
There are probably a few dozen possible reasons. I don’t think he got anything from his dead sibling, but if the other had an infection, that may have been transmitted.
You are in India or vaguely that part of the world, right?
@Stephie Yes India near Rajasthan border
Note that there’s also rabies still around, and first symptoms can be rather unspecific, like fatigue, weakness and lethargy.
@Stephie Yes it resembles somewhat these symptoms. I also tried to stay careful after thinking about this.
If I surely know if Rabies could be reason, I would inform maybe head of that area.

Usually I’d say haul them to a vet / find an animal help group, but I know that that’s not an option, sadly. And if it is rabies, there’s no treatment anyway once it has progressed after a certain point.
But most people around there looked careless. I even asked someone owner of a nearby farm that can other puppies also become sick because one died? They said they won't.
@Vikas unless you have an animal showing very clear symptoms or do a lab test, you can’t say.
Yeah. The other puppies looked normal.
Hope it survives at least next 1 week. To rule out the possibility of rabies
Then there’s nothing you can do beyond offering food.
Yeah.
Hope it changes in future. Some rules and care is needed.

Sadly, if your pups survive into adulthood, they will likely contribute to the pool of stray dogs in your area. High losses are to be expected, if everything is left to nature.
And if they came from a household where the mother lives and the owner is somewhat consistent, expect the next litter in just a few months.
(Have to step aside to calm down a bit.)
@Stephie Yeah that does happen. Already many stray dogs on roads
