Oh, and just another meta post that went like "Here's a new feature for you, now like it" and people are like "But we don't! Why didn't you ASK anyone BEFORE forcing this on us?". And history repeats over and over again...
I don't know if "polish" is the right solution. I think "rollback" would be a better step.
Which I'm not saying as "oh it's change I hate it!" but as someone whose weird double-major selection made me more conscious of visual design than the average programmer.
@JourneymanGeek I'll agree with that, but it's a design created by programmers who didn't consider how the average person will look at it (which is kind of a major failing in MANY UI designs, not just this one)
Well, a visual rollback. Demoting the visual significance of the important stats and raising the visual significance of the unimportant one (views) is not good UI.
I don't care how much something's been viewed, and I'm not sure anyone else does either. I care about the votes, answers, and accepted answers.
But now it's scaled the three scores to the same size, but added a text color and icon that draws attention to view count, giving it a higher visual impact
Yes, now that I'm scrolling a bit, I'm seeing a "watched" badge instead of just hilighting the post (which had a better visual impact)
@JourneymanGeek I would not be surprised
Well now that I've used it briefly, I have a whole new complaint too. Title and Tags basically blend together; the height is the same (yes, the tag text is smaller, but the overall element is the same height as the text), and the color between title text and tag backgrounds on unread questions is identical.
