@AllisonC oh nice, I am glad then; for me, I have never had a "mild" one even once, they all have been of similar intensity, unbearable without pain relievers.
When I was younger they were like that (I needed prescription medication to help at all, and all that did was get me to a point where I could go home and sleep); now I know more of how to avoid and manage them when they come on, so I take painkillers right away, use some "supermint" stuff, and go right to bed if I can :)
Last time the sound sensitivity wasn't too bad, so I actually just laid in the dark with an eye mask and listened to podcasts for an hour or two, didn't even sleep.
@lila it's a product made by a local-ish company, a beeswax-based stick with menthol and peppermint (and other things) in it that gives headache and migraine relief. I usually put it on the back of my neck, and a dab on the temples if it's really bad.
The combined smell and "cool" feeling from it helps a lot
@C.Koca Only ok right now... pretty busy today (vice versa your situation - writing papers for school), and my dog just swallowed a mask and is currently at the vet :(
@C.Koca yum yum yum I would love waking up to that, it would not only boost my appetite but make me appreciate my cats hunting skills and love for me that they defended my property and then brought me the bodies of the invaders ;)
Mine thankfully only hunt bugs, usually with minimal success, but they're all indoor-only cats
@C.Koca Cats will eat some stupid stuff. The local cat-owner facebook group has a post from someone who's facing huge emergency vet bills after their cat ate a nerf dart.
I've had an issue with a couple of mine wanting to eat plastic. I've moved everything over to covered trash cans, but they go find cases of bottled water and gnaw the plastic wrap holding them together...
Oh yeah, mine have destroyed some bags of treats. It's why I keep them in drawers or on extremely high shelves now. (And the ones on the shelves are moved to containers that close up very tightly.)
He was in the room I moved in and we named him Latte :) Later, we learned that some other household is also taking care of him and named him Paul. But apparently, he was a microchipped cat with the name Sonny :)
After I managed to get him as my pet, I changed his registered name to Sonny Latte Paul :)
Haha wow what a rollercoaster of events, he had so many identities, as if he was preparing to run away one day, cut all contacts (including even giving up the loyalty card for his favourite store with groceries) and start a new life in Mexico :D
I am inspired by this scifi SE post and wonder what kind of pets the regular users have. I for one can't really shut up about my cat(s), and I am sure many users here would love to share photos of their pets with the community. I am also curious what kind of pets people have and I'd especially wa...
Starting some more tag edits, many apologies for the tsunami of posts that are about to be bumped! (a necessary evil, but apologizing for it anyway!) :P
@C.Koca Wow, did you learn the art of spying from your cat? We have had the exact same discussion with my new friends on Agora, how is that possible? :D
In the style of The many memes of meta
Catchphrases and concepts that spread from person to person are known as memes, which, courtesy the internet, can now explode across the earth like a highly contagious virus (hence "going viral"). As with their IRL counterparts, some infectious diseases ar...
Ok edited 10 posts for tag clean up reasons - I will stop for now, then edit the next 10 tomorrow, then 10 more, and then the final 5, and then I will be done (well at least with the shelter and rescue-organizations)
