Good morning
07:03
Vaguely relevant but I don't think anyone here is dumb enough to do that
@JourneymanGeek That is just amazing...
> The dog recovered after his wife identified the water as the possible source of the illness and told Aiken to stop giving it to him
I can imagine that conversation
They seem like a couple made of two very different people
Well, someone has to have the brains
Apparently
And maybe this is just a German thing, but who gives their pets bottled water?
07:13
\o/
who gives their pets woo woo water?
woo woo?
uh, how do I translate that
"a term used by magician and skeptic James Randi to denote paranormal, supernatural and occult claims"
The stuff that comes out of the south facing end of a north facing male cattle
The only time ash got bottled water was when we used to drop by a supermarket after dog park, bought a drink and he was annoyed he didn't get one. :D
Well yeah or maybe on a long car trip I guess
I mean our cats tend to drink everything that is not clean water anyway
yup
Ash was picky, but that's "clean"
apparently this dog wasn't :D
Its a chihuahua after all

3 hours later…
10:41
hi
Hiii
How are you lila?
I am tired of this holiday (May 1st was holiday and groceries were closed, May 2nd was not holiday but it was Sunday so groceries were closed, May 3rd was holiday and groceries were closed), I am happy that today they are finally open, but in general I just feel average, nothing too fancy, at least the Sun is shining through these milky fine-strand semi transparent clouds (cirrus); and you?
Oh, Monday was not a holiday here
Here the sun does not get through and the overall mood is just very grey.
I am oki, trying to keep myself busy at work...

1 hour later…
11:52
@SerenaT Ha! Same here. Tastes better it there’s a slight greenish tinge.
lol
Ash was picky, and also would sometimes wash his beard in the water bowl, then expect it to be changed
as long as it was his water. Dog parks are water bowl buffets

2 hours later…
13:49
@JourneymanGeek Woo woo water ~~wizards~~ technicians.
I too can transmute water to non potable liquids
"Instant liver failure - just add water!"
......
Well not instant
more a slow lingering sick
Don't crush my joke! D:
Twas a good joke truly

And at the risk of rehashing, I'll just point out that the one username change I've seen that I think is most appropriate at this point is "{oldUsername} - Remember Monica".
It's no longer a situation that can be changed nor should be argued over. But it should still be remembered.
I generally don't care much for username changes in general; it gets hard to try to keep track of who's who (especially if it also comes across as someone making an attempt at hiding past behavior) and breaks some of the comment sequences on answers (can't tell who they're referring to anymore). I get it with that situation, but it's over and done now.
@Sarov it shouldn't be a bandwagon though
And sometimes, you do more hurt (if its someone for whom the place had painful memories) than good
@AllisonC Agreed. I am who I am, not a user name. I have even kept my Gravatar on purpose. Started out with the green, kind of missed the convenient point to switch, and then it was kind of too late to make sense.
@Stephie Same here
@Stephie Same here; I think my avatar is somewhere linked into my google login and has been attached to me the whole time I've been a user here. Regardless of how it got there, I'll keep who I am, thanks.
14:20
Yay - I made it on the waiting list for the vaccination!
(Just got the news.)
@Stephie A waiting list for vacation?
Germany. Bureaucracy. We have restrictions for who can get the vaccine first, second, etc.
Oh vaccination?
I read this as like: At my office we have a waiting list who can go on vacation :D
But yay for making the waiting list! Now we are on there together :D
Autocorrect... sorry
Fixed.
But hey thats good. I really feel like Germany is finally picking up some speed
14:25
@SerenaT that's my workplace :D
How many of the vaccines does Germany have in use right now?
@JourneymanGeek Oh no :D
@AllisonC three. BioNTech/Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca
I can never spell Pfizer
and when i do it looks wrong
14:28
@SerenaT my team is permanantly one team short so we need to organise around our team lead to cover us
@JourneymanGeek That really does not sound great at all
@SerenaT it isn't, I was/am looking for a new job
@Stephie Interesting. It's three here, but a different combination (Pfizer, Moderna, J&J)
(I have no problem spelling Pfizer because my dad was a doctor so we had piles of pens and notepads with pharmaceutical company names on them)
And the founder came from Germany, so that’s easy - it just gets pronounced differently than a German speaker would.
I thought it was a german company
14:33
Nope.
One of the many emigrants.
Karl Christian Friedrich Pfizer (March 22, 1824 – October 19, 1906), known as Charles Pfizer, was a German-American businessman and chemist who co-founded the Pfizer pharmaceutical company with his cousin, Charles F. Erhart, in 1849, as Chas. Pfizer & Co. Inc. == Life and family == He was born Karl Christian Friedrich to Karl Frederick Pfizer and Caroline (born Klotz). Like his older cousin, future business partner and brother-in-law, Karl Erhart, Pfizer was born in Ludwigsburg, Kingdom of Württemberg (now Germany). He emigrated to the United States in October 1848.Pfizer married Anna Hausch, in...
So actually a Swabian name, methinks.
@Stephie nice.. I've got my appointments booked for mine (1st dose will be on the 12th)
Yay!
@AllisonC I wish the comments auto-updated on username changes. Though I realize the difficulties there.
@JourneymanGeek Fair. My comment was more along the lines of "If you want to jump on the old bandwagon, better to do it this way than the way it was done a year ago". But yeah, best to avoid altogether unless it's authentic.
@Sarov and frankly parts of SE are still terrible
and its worth putting effort and pressure into fixing that
How d'you mean?
14:43
Smaller sites basically got ignored for years
the CM team was stripped down to the bone
Basically find somewhere SE's failing, learn to speak out, and keep doing it
Its hard, its thankless but we don't have enough people who can
Ahsee.
@JourneymanGeek Thank you. (Ha! Proved you wrong! >:D)
@Sarov Sometimes its not good enough :(
Aw.

2 hours later…
16:58
Have a random pet story.
One time, my mother pulled out a chair and was about to sit down on it.
Meanwhile, cat bolted across the room, leaped two metres, and landed on the chair just before my mother could sit down.

Cats.
17:23
@Sarov 🤦🏼‍♀️
He-who-has-an-injured-paw-and-can’t-play-outside got a new toy: One of those treat-dispenser balls. Dinner is being served all over the living room floor tonight.
17:36
Aaaaand all gone. Why does the poor starving puppy get oh so little food? So sad.
18:35
@Stephie how exciting :) (My poor starving kitties feel his pain)
