@Skippy I think having quotes are fine as long as it's not the entire answer (and yes, I'm familiar with your style from CogSci, and in general I think it's fine there as well). I think people are micromanaging the site a bit too much. Certain things need to be nipped in the bud (like blind, malicious plagiarism), but other things can be cleaned up later (like extra tags, marginal answers, etc.).

One thing I've learned from Chem.SE is just going with the flow a bit and understanding that it's a different animal than other SE sites, so it's not always just going to be a cut-and-dried clone of SO.
