Q: My gerbil is scratching like crazy at the corners of his cage. Is that normal?

A. S.So, I just got two gerbils. They have a four story cage with clear plastic in the front, and so far, everything seemed pretty normal. I put a sand bath in for them to bathe in, and then took it out after they were done. However, after I removed the sand bath, one of my gerbils ran to the top of t...

Q: Baby Leopard Gecko

SparkleZeeWe have had our gecko since October 1, 2018...we were told she was about 3 months and now 6 months. She would not eat anything for the first week. Then she started to eat meal worms (maybe 1 or 2 a day for about 2 weeks) then she stopped so we gave her parsley and kale for another couple of weeks...

@trondhansen well, they are kept as pets ;)
and very good for rodent control. Sadly they seem to confuse cats and small dogs for rodents every now and then

8:15 AM
the snakes one know of is ok it is the ones visiting that is scary LOL,but they do keep rodents away(the snakes living here is not very helpful for most of the year and they do not eat small pets lol)

JAD
@trondhansen pretty much the only reasons for snakes to get into contact with humans around their homes is because of the rodents that come along
or, in general, food

9:19 AM
@YvetteColomb why only horses? Why no campaign to stop indiscriminate merciless killing of hundreds of feral cats by the authorities?
@trondhansen have some private talks please come to the room

@YvetteColomb Is it common to find snakes and stuff in your sheds?

@Sonevol i am not here for private talks i am here as a result of my interest in animals, and to help people expand their knowledge about them to avoid any types of harm being done to any of them.

10:51 AM
So hard to get a good picture of my Albino Catfish
This guy is getting big! :)

@Sonevol cats are the perfect hunters and animals in australia do not have any protection against cats.horses do not harm the nature in the same way, they might be a problem for farmers but not for the nature.

@trondhansen you love cats but still you are saying this ??!!

11:09 AM
@Sonevol you find it strange that i love life?.i love cats but i love wildlife too and where i live cats limit the number of rodents but they do not exterminate them :)

@trondhansen if you ask me I will protect cats even at the cost of extermination of human species

11:25 AM
@Sonevol somebody needs to take care of the cats so the extermination of the human species is not an alternative :) even if we do our best at the moment with releasing climate gasses and changing our world.

11:44 AM
Anyway, I don't think there's a need to argue about who loves cats more and to what length you would go to save them. This room is all about our shared love of animals :)

Q: Picking a puppy when the dog mom is aggressive

HelenWe were trying to pick out a border collie puppy and met the puppies’ mom. She looked fearful, gave us the death stare, barked, and snapped at us and was extremely distrustful. Her behavior was a bit erratical, after a couple of minutes at some point she was comfortable enough to lie down show he...

@Henders have you ever tried to give your catfish brussels sprouts, the catfish i had did love it i used the frozen type and i put it in whole..
brussels sprouts can be used to remove snails from a tank too,the snails collect on it and is easy to remove.

7:12 PM
@trondhansen No I haven't but that sounds like a good experiment for Christmas!! :D
Good tip for the snails too!

8:09 PM
@Sonevol because they're not flying around in helicopters shooting indiscriminately. They're shooting at these horses. It's a strange question to ask.
@Henders very. I've had them in my houses. Even in by bedroom.

@YvetteColomb That page made for distressing reading. 2 things I don't understand: 1) How did the horses get there, 2) Why do they feel the need to kill them (whatever the method)?
