don't think so. some patterns are better at showing the iridescence though

As you could see in that vid, that mostly black retic shows it a lot better than wildtype retics, because there is more going on behind there

Yeah, the eye is attracted to it because the body colour is so 'plain', for want of a better word.

it's sheen that's normally mostly overwhelmed by the rest of the pattern
