A: Requirements for making a game

bluejaykeWell if you use the word "Hogwarts" and you make an exact copy of the game, there would probably be copyright issues, but regarding those, you should ask on the Legal Stack Exchange website, or just look up the laws of copyright. So you're next clear question is: where do you find people to make...

Thank you so much. Can you tell me a approximate of how long such a project could take, and if i could also get people to work on it with me
@VAMSIKRISHNACHILAKAMARRI wel I could theoretically help with some parts of it like coding if you need (for a percentage of the total profit it would make, if any), I personally don't know anyone else (in person) who does unity so I don't know, other than just going on random sites like fiverr and finding people, but you kind of have to know what you're looking for specifically, like modeling or coding, but you need to either manage it yourself or get some kind of manager. The length of time it may take may very, but the coding is the most important part. Have you done coding before?
I havent coded games before but I am familiar with the logic and syntax for a general program. I am also quite good with it. And if I were to begin unity now with the final aim of developing this game, where should i start?
You should definitely start with movement and collision detection and the camera, even with no models. Unity has a built in CharacterController script you just have to call moveTo on it (I think), you calculate the direction to go using vector math or manually. Basically get keyboard input of the right or left arrows to rotate the player, based on an incrementing variable, keep track of that variable, then to calculate the X movement, take the Cosine of that direction (in radians, convert from degrees by Math.PI / 180), and to go the Y movement, take the Sine
atnity may not be the best platform to make games on, there are many bugs with the editor etc., but it can be good for beginners to start something, but preferably the best way would probably be to design it from scratch with webGL etc. then calculate the collisons manually, but that would be a bit harder
Thank you so much. I will start learning right away. Can i contact you if i need help along the way?

Ya you can email me at [email protected] or here on the chat if you need some specific advise
BTW here's a quick script I found online you can copy off of / test for your purposes (or just download the entire project and build off that): github.com/dbircsak/blog/blob/master/…
Yes thank you so much for your help
so far:)

And btw could you suggest a site where i can learn from?

@VAMSIKRISHNACHILAKAMARRI @VAMSIKRISHNACHILAKAMARRI it depends what exactly you want tp learn ingeneral just the unity documentation should be enough but if you have a specific question just google it and find it on answers.unity.com or youtube.. Did u start with that test project?

1 hour later…

No i didn't start that test project. I was learning to use rigid body dynamics, add forces, basic unity stuff, etc.
After i get the hang of it im gonna start that test project
