it's funny how using something in an environment that needs it to be reliable makes it eventually become stable :p
06:37
Umm @lyxαl the site doesn't work
yes
I am aware of that
who do you think broke it? :p
14 secs ago, by lyxαl
who do you think broke it? :p
user :p
me :p
I was cleaning some files up on the server and deleted something that in hindsight, I probably shouldn't have
06:39
oof
yeah
turns out I deleted the folder that has all the pip installed libraries
the V2.4 one still works
yes
because those are separate accounts
I didn't touch the 2.4 site
I was touching the main site
should be fixed
Is the folder the same?
@lyxαl cool
different accounts
like actually different accounts
06:41
yeah that works now
@lyxαl ik but is the pip folder the same there
maybe, depends on when num2words was added a dependency
thank goodness PA comes with sympy and numpy pre-installed :p
Thunno 2 doesn't have any dependencies :D
it also doesn't have a number to word builtin that has been used to cheese challenges in the past :p
+ no alegbra
which has in the past caused way too many ace exploits because someone decided it'd be a good idea to use exec in sympy
but hey, at least if you ever want to know the antiderivative of 3x + 8log(x), you don't have to go any further than the ∆i element :p
(it's 3*x**2/2 + 8*x*log(x) - 8*x btw)
and if you want to go the other way

can anyone share one of the gists i once saw
a list of vyxal functions
thnx
trying to challenge chatgpt on coding up these functions in python
ok i was thinking about something like a text file?
or is it depreciated?
and not elements.txt
yessssss
thanks
Do note that it's severely outdated
09:12
it doesnt matter
👍
Do the Lyxal have moms?
@lyxαl actually i was looking for this
im gonna have to write better descriptions for 400 entries and filter out 300 of them for chatgpt
#mylifebelike
10:12
@NumberBasher oh that's the first v3 element list draft
That's from June 2021
My goodness that's really outdated :p
10:39
for my purposes its best
since every element is on a single line
looks similar enough for me
probly not best
but still, good
since all i really want is a list of function specifications
@TheThonnu ME
@user you should change your "about" to match the other user's about as well :p
so then no one will know who's who lol
RED ALERT, IDENTITY REVEALED
lol you actually did it
10:53
@TheThonnu done
you realise network wide rep is also a giveaway? :p
+ total message count
O_o
11:10
@user btw you should link "this user" to stackexchange.com/users/current
(https://stackexchange.com/users/current)
11:22
@TheThonnu I don't know why, but this doesn't work.
Probably because new users cannot post links.
that's right
if you don't have enough rep, links don't get linkified
a spam fighting thing
o_O
learned that one myself on two different occasions (once from wondering why a rickroll in a spammer's bio didn't actually link and once from reading that it's an actual thing somewhere)
Well anyway my profile is now similar.
@user minus, you know, all the rooms real user owns + network rep + total messages sent + chat profile age :p
I am user.
@lyxαl can we make user RO to get their name in italics?
I actually like being able to tell the users apart :p
come on, it'll be funny :p
11:33
+ I need to be able to tell which is real user for v3 development purposes :p
also, I'm still not 100% sure who the account actually belongs to :p
I may be lax with adding ROs, but I like knowing whomst is whomstd've before doing so :p
maybe it is just user pranking all of us lol
nah, different timezones and speech patterns :p
> whomstd've
11:35
I've interacted with real user enough to be able to tell 95% of the time
@TheThonnu you've never heard of it?
you're part of today's lucky 10000 :p
it goes as far as Whomst'd've'ly'yaint'nt'ed'ies's'y'es outside of that video
I suggest you check out youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOuRUMB9wjlq0CPjHxM7fAiQp4J--ae_O when you have the chance
peek surreal entertainment
same energy as whomst'd've

@TheThonnu I am baking your mojis.
Hmm, why mod entered here
ysthakur pushed a commit to Vyxal/v3-momentum-branch-2: Fix VNum#to to use Inclusive
I really don't like that monadic and dyadic maximum are the same element
Also, can we have a maximum/minimum by element? (I know there's a modifier but I'd like an element too)

@user I am doing user's schoolwork. I hope you appreciate the A+ I got you on that last exam, nerd.
1. I am no longer in school 2. It's summer break anyway
But I do appreciate the effort, VyxalBot
Surprisingly, lol
Oh no @user changed a name
Fun ended :(
It was just too confusing

Yes you are lyxαl
@TheEmptyStringPhotographer bye!
Sorry The Empty String Photographer, I'm afraid I can't do that.
@TheEmptyStringPhotographer No help is available for that command.
@TheEmptyStringPhotographer You do not have permission to run that command (must be a member of group "admin"). If you think you should be able to, ping Ginger.

@lyxαl @realuser btw if you need anything with the v3 stuff, I'm happy to help
(just because I noticed it's basically just you two doing all the work)
20:21
@TheThonnu That would be amazing!
We're going to merge the momentum PR soon and then you can help by implementing elements
Until then, you could get started by setting up Scala and reading the docs to see how the codebase is designed
gtg rn but I'll post links later
The documentation folder should be helpful
And feel free to ping me or lyxal about anything
20:41
If you're planning on doing Scala stuff in general, I'd recommend installing Coursier
After that, you can run cs setup to install some essential Scala stuff
You can also work on Vyxal without installing anything extra, but then you won't be able to try out the Scala REPL
Once you do that, you'll want an IDE/editor. VS Code has an extension called Metals that works okay
Acts goofy occasionally when I work on Vyxal but maybe I've just screwed it up somehow
To learn Scala itself, here's a guide to Scala for Python devs

1 hour later…
22:05
@realuser I feel like that was going to be a thing anyway
@realuser it's goofy in general
It be like that
@TheThonnu welcome aboard!
