Q: What passage of the Book of Malachi does Milton refer to in chapter VI, book I of "The Doctrine & Discipline of Divorce"?

John SmithIn book one, chapter VI, of The Doctrine & Discipline of Divorce, it is written: If Solomons advice be not overfrolick, Live joyfully, saith he, with the wife whom thou lovest, all thy dayes, for that is thy portion. How then, where we find it impossible to rejoyce or to love, can we obey this p...

Does the penultimate paragraph of this answer clarify anything, or is it just padding? I can't decide whether to delete the entire paragraph or leave it in. I know it doesn't add anything. It might, however, have the benefit of stating in more understandable terms what the previous two paragraphs say less clearly. Please lmk what y'all think. Thanks!

Also, on the grounds that we don't tag individual works in a series, I think doesn't need its own tag. Along with The Judgment of Martin Bucer, Tetrachordon, and Colasterion, it should just be tagged or, to be clearer,
it's like all of 20 pages long.
Granted, they're very dense pages, but still

@Mithical (I was quickly reading your post on meta.SE about the strike.) Is it moral to write do not flag this we are on strike on a spam post? Yes of course a reason and some links will be given to why it's happening.
My Defense: I am not saying I will write a comment like that.

@HenryWHHackv3.0 eh, I wouldn't

The strike is in effect.

@HenryWHHackv3.0 those are on Ask Ubuntu apparently
were, because they're gone.

@b_jonas Yes, it is on Ask Ubuntu.
It literally took a CM to delete one of those post. (Maybe that same CM handled all?)

any diamond would smite such obvious spam on sight
including a CM
(I also smite them but only with a spam flag.)
you don't need diamond mods to delete those posts anyway, a few spam flags by ordinary users is enough.

@verbose: My vote: don't delete it.

"You may only post a flag once every 5 seconds."
"You may only load the flag dialog every 3 seconds."

@Mithical I confess I have just been downvoting, but not flagging... Not sure if that is legit, but I will stop voting now.
We can't let AI take over our lives, this is more deeper than Stack Exchange.
Sorry, I went into my conspiracy theorists mode.

About my statement I understand that AI can be good thing or a bad thing. It just depends on how it's being used.

@verbose Not my original joke, sadly:
> He squints as he studies me.

> "There's something different about you," he says.

> "I've started styling my hair differently," I laugh.

> "Oh. I thought it was that you were a metre taller, a hell of a lot broader, look like a werewolf and are naked except for that bit of cloth around your waist. But you're right - it's the hair."

I am reading the moderators strike post over again to better understand the issue. (It's normal for me to not understand what something means on the first read, but after 3+ reads I will be like: OHHH, So that's what it's all about!)

@PeterShor Thanks! Will leave as is.
@Randal'Thor ah. I gather it's from Darren Shan, but which book precisely?
@HenryWHHackv3.0 I have @Mithical's post open in a separate tab and will read it some time today. (My non-SE life is a bit over-full atm.) But I trust the mods (at least, the mods who are or have been active here—I haven't interacted with mods on any other community) and realize they'd not take such a step lightly.
I have read the open letter but not @Mithical's long meta post (and I see @Randal'Thor has a meta post too). There are other strike-related posts I would like to read as well. Until I have the time to read and assimilate them all, and thereby reach my own conclusions, I shall do as the open letter suggests and refrain from answering, commenting flagging, or voting. (I might change my mind after I have read those materials, but based on what I know so far, that seems unlikely.)
The strike is focused on the AI stuff, yes? AFAI can see, the code of conduct stuff isn't part of it? I skimmed the new code of conduct a couple days ago and it seemed anodyne enough, but I didn't analyze it the way one would a literary text to understand its history and subtext.
