@Bookworm Somehow this question about the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Bible managed to reach HNQ status.
That'll keep my samovar warm ;-)

While trying to replace the bare URLs with meaningful link text in this verbose answer I ran into the character limit for answers, so I had to replace double hyphens with em dashes (—), remove redundant spaces at the end of paragraphs and in the end I still had to remove some of the information I originally added to the two links.

@bobble The secret of the Disciple hat has been revealed: you can get it by following eight questions.

I have received the hat and have unfollowed all the extra questions

In case anyone's looking for a dose of Sheen-Tennant dynamic since Good Omens, their latest series Staged film almost entirely with webcams as they play fictionalised versions of themselves trying to rehearse a stage play online, is objectively awesome

Wow, that's a lot of @Tsundoku on the front page.

@Randal'Thor Lots of links are just bare URLs, which is bad for accessibility. My most recent edit removed a link to a presumably copyrighted story, hosted on a site that triggers a security warning both in the browser and on the Linux command line.

@Tsundoku If you want to get edit rep on SFF, here's 600 answers with mostly bare-URL links :-)
Although it'll take you a while since SFF has a rule that at most 5 of the top 15 posts on the front page should be last edited by the same user.

@Randal'Thor That's on my to-do list ;-)

@Tsundoku Oh cool!

@Bookworm This went HNQ. It turns out that the story was a French novel.

@Tsundoku And Spagirl leapfrogged ahead of both verbose and Gallifreyan in the rep leagues.

This may be the single best answer I've read on Lit SE. — verbose 2 days ago
@verbose Hold that thought ... the quarterly best-of meta post is coming up.
@Tsundoku And it got you the site's first Archaeologist badge - congratulations.

Q: What does "ungenerously, wishing I could help her" mean in this context?

Pasta AddictI would like to know what "ungenerously, wishing I could help her" means in the following sentences: ‘I don’t mean to pry.’ She shifted, visibly uncomfortable, vulnerable even, but not nearly as much as me. ‘Tell me honestly – does Janusz have another girl?’ A part of me wanted to laugh out loud...

Q: What does "as soon as you can" mean in this context?

Pasta AddictI would like to know what "as soon as you can" means in the following sentences: ‘I know you are not in the Party,’ he said, his voice barely more than a whisper, ‘and it’s too late to join now anyway. Even if you wanted to.’ He lowered his eyes, maybe embarrassed by what he was about to propose...

Q: What does "little earth" mean when used as an adjective?

JohnVIn the following sentence (from a story called Messenger by A. Blackwood): Nothing upon the earth— familiar, friendly, well-known, little earth—could have brought this sense that pressed upon the edges of true reverence. What is the meaning of "little earth"? Also, is the "edges of true reverence"

This meta post has been in planning for some time, but I sped it up a bit since there's a hat for starting a meta discussion
I'm guilty of chasing Soapbox as well (and I got it, so there)

@bobble And this meta is how I got it ;-)

Q: Is the stormy weather an element of Naturalism in The Shining, by Stephan King?

DanIn Stephan King's novel, "The Shining", there seems to me to be a correlation between the weather and the sanity of Jack Torrace. Namely, as the Torrace family becomes more isolated (i.e. people from the hotel are leaving), the closer Jack gets to insanity and the more powerful and violent the st...

Rand al'ThorHere's the latest installment in the regular best-of-quarter collections, intended to gather some particularly good Literature Q&A in order to get some easily available links to showcase our site. @verbose I was wondering if you happened to have time for a (presumably) easy question and a chance to get the Snaphat?
It would be a question about the Bhagavad Gita.
Otherwise I'll just add it to my growing stash of unasked questions.
