@Bookworm Your question is a little premature, Randolph. The Holy Thursday in question isn't till May 9.
@GarethRees ooh, nice catch!
@GarethRees Ah, I'm mostly lost outside of English literature, alas. Well, in Bengali there's also Tagore: Gora; Gitanjali; Card Country. Actually too many to name in every genre, just picking the best known.
@Tsundoku who dat? I shall Wikipedia him.
@Tsundoku oh of course.
@AnkitSharma Congratulations on the marriage and the move to Canada, good luck on the job search, and happy anniversary for next month!
Have a good Friday, everyone.

@AnkitSharma if nobody is able to identify the short story before your offered bounty lapses, I'll offer it as an open bounty. I need to start bountifying anyway.

@Bookworm Holy Thursday experienced in the HNQ
I thought both the question and at least one answer needed upvotes to go HNQ, but apparently I'm wrong, because this went HNQ despite the answers' having zero upvotes.

@Tsundoku I don't know enough about the output of most of the folks you mention to opine, but I would dispute Hughes. He's well-known as a poet but his plays rarely are staged, if ever. I couldn't name a single one of his novels either. There are far better known novelists of the Harlem Renaissance. I'm not disputing the quality of his output; I'm just saying it's a stretch to say he's well known as anything other than a poet.
