I was pleased at the reception of my latest question :) spent some time looking through the story for another historical-context question to ask, but the closest I got was "bugger a duck" which I decided wasn't interesting.

I've just merged the-fifth-season into broken-earth following our general practice on series tags vs individual-book tags. The system took it as a rename rather than a merge, so the tag wiki excerpt needs rewriting.

@Bookworm The question owner hasn't returned to the site for 22 hours. I am now tempted to turn this into a Flannery O'Connor question, since, according to Wikipedia, "[h]er writing reflected her Roman Catholic faith and frequently examined questions of morality and ethics".
