It has been years since I read Mrs. Dalloway, and I don't remember if Septimus Warren Smith's rank was ever indicated.
I'm vaguely left with the impression he was an officer. Was his rank ever identified?
So @GarethRees apparently they're planning to make it impossible for us to even see why a question was closed or who closed it, making it that much harder for us to fix someone else's question and get it reopened.
Shog9 said that inofficially at some point. But...I'd be immensely surprised if it hasn't yet come up in one of the 47 answers to the official announcement of this feature either.
Also, the assumption would be that the displayed message is dependent on the close-reason, too and you're specifically seeing the "unclear" reason there. Saying "your question needs clarity" when it's downright off-topic would sure be stupid. So you still would know why it was closed, even if it requires you now to make the leap from a fluffy sentence to a three-word SE term.
