@ChristopheStrobbe He might not be the best choice for widening diversity, since we already have five questions about him (one of the most asked-about French authors on this site). Any others who have lots of publicly available short stories?

@Randal'Thor I don't know any other 19th-century French author of his stature who has written so many short stories. So there's still a lot of room for new questions. One alternative might be Daudet.
