@BESW I love this.

user15026
@BESW I second this rec.

user15026
@Feeds ooooh noooope. Romancelandia is gonna hate you if they see this

user15026
Heck I still have trouble with the answer even though it is a good researched one because it neglects so much beyond a small slice of romance novel history

user15026
And no, I'm not going to write a different one

user15026
It just frustrates me that people here wanna tweet out something that just will smack romancelandia in the face after its been working so fucking hard to get away from that image.

user15026
12:22 AM
Wait wait wait I have a tweet for this

user15026
On second thought, I won't post it, it's not entirely kind and I am not feeling entirely kind so I will keep my thinking to myself

user15026
Just....i am tired, the whole genre is full of people who are tired of people stabbing at our history when they don't know and mocking us for existing when they haven't ever read a damn romance novel and I am just exhausted by all of it

user15026
Honestly, that's part of why I don't ask romance novel questions here. I don't need people who don't read them poking at the genre. (and let's be honest here, I am most likely to get an answer from someone who has never read a romance novel in any real sense)

....I feel like the first five and a half minutes are all they really needed.
Trope Talk does a lot of good stuff, though.

@Ash Sorry 'bout that. That wasn't my intention at all :|
(I... should probably stay away from stuff like that that I'm not familiar with.)
@Randal'Thor Well that was an interesting twist.

Book rec thread (@Ash!):
📚📚📚It's #WorldBookDay! 📚📚📚 Let me celebrate with some new-ish books that I enjoyed and think some of you might like/learn from, too. Some fiction, some non-fiction – w/a sprinkle of #polisci. Warning: I like lots of different book genres. Proceed with caution.

user15026
@Mithrandir its okay, it's a touchy topic for me so I am sorry too.

user15026
@BESW oh boy. Gonna check this out in a bit but I suspect my TBR is gonna grow again

Today in "Dear Amazon, y u do that":

user15026
So according to @AmazonKDP - putting my book under LGBT Poetry means it is Erotica. How fucked up is that?

user15026
So I checked, and most of Button Poetry's poets are in there :/

user15026
Likely because of the same reason

user15026
10:59 PM
This is like all the problems they have with categorizing romance, but worse

11:15 PM
@Mithrandir [gestures above] That's representative of how romancelandia gets reduced and simplified and then marginalized or vilified based on that misrepresentation, leading to attitudes like this from people who are more interested in cleaning their house of its actual problems than debunking the misinformation over and over again.
