I see that you have created the (technology) tag. It might be useful to create also tag-wiki or at least tag-excerpt. It might help other users to use the tag correctly. Another reason is that the tags used on only one question are automatically deleted after certain time unless they have tag-wiki. — Martin Sleziak 54 secs ago

A new tag was created on meta by Ben Webster. (The tag-info was left empty.)

Q: What to do if you want up-to-date answers to an old question on technology

Ben WebsterOne issue with the site lasting as long as it has is that technology has changed quite a bit since its early days, and so discussions of technology are extremely out of date. In particular, when doing some research of my own on online collaboration tools, I encountered the question Tools for lon...

@MartinSleziak The question was deleted, so the tag is now gone.

@MartinSleziak I think fits, and maybe also . These questions from 2010 would be probably closed as off-topic now.
If the question Cardinality of symmetric group is bumped, the deprecated tag could be removed from it at the same time.

Q: Cardinality of symmetric group

ashpool Possible Duplicate: Cardinality of the permutations of an infinite set Why does the symmetric group on an infinite set X have the cardinality of the power set ${\cal P}(X)$?

@MartinSleziak The tag now has tag-excerpt and tag-wiki. Thanks to Stefan Kohl and YCor for approving the suggested edits.
I see that this also lead to a new custodian badge.

I think "technology" couldn't fit as a meta tag, but as tag on the main site. The meta tag 'exact-duplicate' would fit albeit secondary (the question is whether some kind of question should be asked in spite of being possibly technically considered as duplicate). @MartinSleziak would you have some suggestions based on your knowledge of other Stackexchange sites? Along the lines of "old questions", "updating", etc. Also a tag referring generically to soft questions would be useful. — YCor 22 mins ago
@YCor AFAICT we do not have a corresponding tag on Mathematics Meta.
I have checked a somewhat similar type of question on Meta Stack Exchange: How to deal with obsolete answers?
Meta Stack Exchange has a tag called obsolete-information. But the tag is not very big and I did not find find it on per-site-metas with the exception of Unix.
On Meta Stack Exchange there is also a tag called [updating-questions]. But it only has 10 questions and it seems to be used inconsistently.

I see that I have forgotten to include link to the tag updating-questions.

As a side note, since a tag on meta is discussed, it would be nice to have some confirmation whether tag-pruning works in the same way there. (I know that one exception are default tags.)
