In an «advanced calculus» course, I am talking tomorrow about connectedness (in the context of metric spaces, including notably the real line). What are nice examples of applications of the idea of connectedness? High wow-ratio examples are specially welcomed... :)
Looking at Wayback Machine it seems that it used to be tagged calculus. (That's probably how it got the tag-removed tag.)
I was not sure whether real-analysis and perhaps metric-spaces should also be added. I will leave this for the users more experienced with the tags around this site.

This question used to be tagged (calculus), which was merged into (tag-removed) as a result of this discussion on meta. I was not sure which tags could be added here as a replacement of (calculus) - perhaps (real-analysis)? (As this is not directly relevant to the question, I will remove this comment later - I will leave it long enough for the OP to see it. If needed, we can discuss the suitable tags for this questions elsewhere.) — Martin Sleziak 51 secs ago
