Q: Show off your hats! (2019 edition)

RobWe've obtained 59K hats so far, and just like the past two Winter Bashes (2017 and 2018) it's time to show off your new hats. Simply choose your finest hat, use the positioning controls to adjust it, and post a screenshot as an answer. Don't forget to visit the Winter Bash 2019 chat room for ti...

It's not as though I kept your hat for myself ...
Everyone else whom participated: Enjoy your one or two new hats.

Q: About earning the hat that has 2 hearts

IsaI'm refering to this hat Just to clarify, we have to start a bounty (no matter how many points, right?) on somebody else question (answers too?) at least 7 to 1 day(s) after the last day of hats, which is 2st January and so on the seventh day we award the bounty, at what time exactly? Also I...

Q: Have Winter Bash for Stack Overflow Enterprise

pacoverflowMy company has started using Stack Overflow Enterprise, and it does not have a Winter Bash. Activity on our site seems a bit light, and I think Winter Bash might be a good way to increase activity on the site.

@YaakovEllis when you said that both hats have triggers that "(never been used before)" that means it is some new trigger that has never appeared in some form in a prior WB?
@Catija nice to see you in here (even if it is a black hole). Wanted to ask you, do you still have your real cake hat?

@David cookie hat. 😉 I do not. It wasn’t in good shape after a couple of weeks so I trashed it. I cried.

@Catija what I thought you had that thing for a year in your freezer?

3:23 AM
Nah. I didn't have a freezer at that time. We had the beer fermentation chamber, which was a deep freeze, but that was usually kept around 72 f. I kept it in the fridge but it was really fragile. There were some issues when I baked it that caused the top of it to be very thin. Then I further damaged it when I painted it with the brown food coloring to get it a darker shade.
I'm assuming you've read the write-up I did in chat? Also, the buttercream was made with actual butter, rather than crisco, so it wasn't very stable after a while.

@Catija probably, but if I'm misremembering it this badly I dint know.

@Catija that's neat. (not sure if I has read that before or not.)

:D Thanks.
It was fun to do. I'm not sure if I would have the patience to do it now.

@YaakovEllis thanks for the new triggers. (I'm back into "figure the trigger out mode". It feels good.)

3:47 AM
@YaakovEllis one last question (for now) do that hat names (007 and Blue in the Face) and pictures have any semblance to their respective hat triggers?
@CinCout-ReinstateMonica I fail to see how the message from @Catija you linked in your edit says the trigger for mother of dragons was wrong. (the wording my be confusing, but the is the trigger.)
so the wording should be "first post" not new contributor. sigh
(its still a direct copy from 2017)

4:04 AM
I'm not sure if we even figured out all of the rules for Mother of Dragons back in 2017.

@Catija what you question my trigger? :)
who runs the WB around here? (that's right not me, it you all)

@David one of them definitely does
2

awesome! thanks.

@David I need to rephrase: I wrote the trigger sql yesterday. I did not make an exhaustive study of all hats ever to ensure that these were never done. But the likelihood of that is exceedingly low

ok got it! the trigger for Blue in the Face ask a question that gets 1995 views. </jk>
@YaakovEllis ok that's kind of what I thought, but if we find it was reused you'll be hearing from me. :)

4:11 AM
The blue in the face trigger never made sense to me ... no comments doesn't = blue in the face... which I associate with someone talking so much they don't take a second to take a breath, so they turn blue.

@Catija that was that trigger. for posting good comments.
I have no idea where this zero comments thing came from...

007 used to actually relate to the name. Zero comments on the question, zero comments on the answer, score of seven. :D
@David Hmmm... probably copypasta. :P

@Catija indeed it is from the heyday of the WB.

> Awarded for 10 distinct comments being upvoted, all posted during Winterbash.
Hmmm... indeed.

@Catija now where could that of come from...?

4:13 AM
I'm blaming Cesar.
:P

A: Winter Bash 2016 - All Hats

JamalSecret Hats Live updates during the Winter Bash can be found on this Google Doc (edit link can be found in the chatroom), discussion in this chatroom. All criteria listed are official. Don't Wanna Taco 'Bout it Edit or suggest an edit to 5 posts in a single UTC day, without commenting ...

Yes, yes.

sad thing about this WB, having less users interested, is that going by the numbers it looks like I won't get the universe brain hat. :( Why can't more people vote on the hat list?

:( So that's why you have to post it every year? ;)

@Catija no joke. that is why. You get many hats from that every year.

4:22 AM
Actually, the posts that include the non-secret hats are really valuable and I don't think they were tracked as far back as the secret hats. So when we go looking at triggers from the past, we have the hat art but don't necessarily know what the trigger was.

@Catija for real? wow. So "my stupid idea" did in the end prove to be useful. Nice. It great to hear it was useful not just to us trying to find the hats, but for you making the triggers too.

I mean... there's probably spreadsheets in someone's folder somewhere but, yeah, they're really useful to have on MSE. Much more so than squirreled away in Google Drive.

@Catija if they even still work for the company... :/

4:46 AM
@David yeah, so they are two different things no? If it's confirmed you must update the post though

@avazula The Milliner is for 11 different hats on the same site. Right now you have 7 on IPS, so when you get 4 more there you will get The Milliner.
@CinCout-ReinstateMonica you can. nothing saying I need to be the one to edit it.

why didn't I get 007 under the new rules for this post?

A: How to get the digits before some particular word using regex in c#?

CinCout - Reinstate MonicaDo this: (\d+)[^\d]+some[wW]ord You need to accept anything other than digits themselves. Also I considered both w and W since your examples contained both. Demo

@David Are we sure about it? I will edit if I'm sure

@CinCout-ReinstateMonica I do not think the "new trigger" is correct.

@CinCout-ReinstateMonica I was sure when I put the first one there. yah make it FP

4:51 AM
@David done. Now on to finding a new site where I can get the hat ;)
@Ælis @VerNicksaysReinstateMonica @Draco18s both tests failed :(

@Rob thanks for the bounty, that will help in Eliza Doolots :D

@VerNicksaysReinstateMonica huh?

@David Both tests failed!!!

@VerNicksaysReinstateMonica what were you trying?
(I'll add it to my data)

4:56 AM
@David There's a comment on the answer that you might be interested in.

@Catija of course I already saw that.

@David Not me, std::Cinstd::Cout - Reinstate

I get pinged from that post :)
I also need another 1300 views on lego. Lets hope for another HNQ...

For Fashionable?

Q: I can't see hats in user profiles on sites which are I'm not joined

ArulkumarI can't see hats in the user profiles on the sites which are all I'm not joined yet. I have verified the same in most of sites, which are I'm not joined. For example: I'm not participated in Mathematics, when I'm checking the hats in the Winter Bash site's Leaderboard, I can see a user wear a ha...

Q: User that "hates hats", but wears a hat on their avatar

CharoIn the site I moderate, I notice a user that appeared in this list as having earned the "Warm Welcome" hat. I noticed that this user has disappeared from this list. Nothing strange since here, since such user has told me they have clicked the "I hate hats button". The curious thing is that the av...

Dunno, but I got "Where in the World" hat too. (I guess it's 'anyehere' in the world).

@CinCout-ReinstateMonica :(
I popped the DV off that one post (grumble, my comment got deleted, had to find it the hard way).

2:40 PM
@Draco18s how did that happen

Probably got flagged in some manner.

@YaakovEllis Please remove my old hats.

4:02 PM
@Ælis meta.stackexchange.com/a/245123/278094 "Leeway on date-based hats" there is a total of 50 hours where you can earn a date bailed hat.
@Rob see this message.

@David Wow, that's a lot! (but that's also nice)

Its basically a "time zones are hard" thing that puts a buffer on both sides that are pretty generous just so there aren't "I totally did the thing on the date, see?" posts.

Q: Offer hats as bounties

Peter TurnerIn the interest of getting new folks tools to get good answers and have fun, it might be a fun wrinkle in the December months to let users who get hats offer them as bounties so that Catching Them All (tm) might be a more attainable goal. Doesn't seem like a terribly hard thing to program and S...

Q: Hat for the December 21 vote ... Is this a joke?

  iluxa1810 Stalin gave his birth date as 21 December 1879 (Old Style date 9 December 1879). Q: Aren't you exposing our hidden communities when we earn hats on those communities?

IsaAren't you exposing our hidden communities when we earn hats on those communities? If everybody can see where we earn those hats, then so they will know about out hidden communities, no? Or since they are hidden, then the hats that we have earned there, won't show off?
