Universal question: Why would anybody want to be mod? What's in it?
Oct 11, 2013 17:49
@Undo hehe yes, go ahead ... let them feel the pressure early on, adjust to what is expected of them LOL
Oct 11, 2013 17:46
@Undo pah, vanity

Q: We need to step it up with the questions!

called2voyageAll right, currently our biggest "Needs Work" area (in my opinion) is our questions per day. Our visits per day is also in the "Needs Work" but we are still a fairly young beta and we have been doing some promotion. Our questions per day is pretty bad though. Currently we have about 861 users, an...

I don't need a proxy most of the time, it's just these government networks give me the heeby-jeebies.
Oct 9, 2013 17:33
@Undo I do that too. I have two tunnels (one perpetually open, one that I can open in a few seconds), plus a shortcut to Tor.
Oct 8, 2013 19:12
Understood. It seemed to fit though ... as Earth's gravity is giving Juno a 'kick in the pants'.
Apropos the comment - I concur (+: "My preference would be to keep the two separate" Last para in me answer
Oct 8, 2013 18:51
Hm. Is Juno slowing down headed into the Grav ass?

Sadomasochism is the giving and/or receiving of pleasure—often sexual—from acts involving the infliction or reception of pain or humiliation. A subset of BDSM, practitioners of sadomasochism usually seek out sexual gratification from these acts, but often seek out other forms of pleasure as well. While the terms sadist and masochist specifically refer to one who either enjoys giving pain (sadist), or one who enjoys receiving pain (masochist), many practitioners of sadomasochism describe themselves as at least somewhat of a switch, or someone who can receive pleasure from eith...

Q: iPhone 5 suddenly wants activated; can't connect to activation server

UndoMy iPhone 5 suddenly wants activated - when unlocked, it shows me my wallpaper. After sliding to unlock, it asks for my passcode. When I enter it, it takes me straight to the 'Activate iPhone' page - like it wants to be set up. The text on the page: This iPhone is currently linked to an Appl...

Happy World Space Week to all!

I also can't advice strongly enough to immediately delete such links used not to forward new victims to such sites with seemingly our blessing to go there.
Oct 3, 2013 18:14
@Everyone Ok, then we need to edit it to say 'astronauts'. On English-language sites we use 'cosmonauts' to refer exclusively to Russian astronauts.

NASA is on a siesta, please come back when the government does
Oct 1, 2013 18:57
So... pieces of insulation are now the most likely culprits?
Oct 1, 2013 17:25
I could well imagine that some things might change, but talking to spacecraft is a 24/7 ops, you can't really take a break from it.
Oct 1, 2013 13:32
We need to convince some NASA people to come here, as it looks like they have the day off.

I actually have two small samples of the silvery thermal blanket material that flew on the Hubble. During two of the servicing missions, they replaced some of the blankets. The blankets that were replaced, they cut up into small pieces and handed them out to folks who worked on the project.

I mean... why in heaven's name are you going somewhere without a proper internet connection?
Sep 6, 2013 00:13
But it does read almost like spam for the moment... I know, it's just awkward wording and we probably all do it - well, not mods obviously, we're infallible :P
Sep 5, 2013 16:08
@PearsonArtPhoto Which got me thinking we should go through those XKCDs and maybe find inspiration for new questions ;) I mean, there's only a few thousands of them, should be a breeze :))
Sep 5, 2013 13:41
@PearsonArtPhoto I recall this one, something about everyone in China jumping at once I think?
Sep 4, 2013 19:29
Yeah, it's kinda funny how measuring practicality in its self is actually quite a bit impractical.
