If you have questions about the election process itself, please ask your question on the Biology Meta Site. Remember, folks stepping up to lead this community are committing a significant amount of their time, please keep all discourse civil and constructive.
@AliceD I think Kiny is referring to voting in the election which I think is 300 rep, not upvoting posts (though there might be a limit for meta that I'm not aware of)
Welcome all! This room is intended as a place to converse with candidates, discuss moderator traits, etc. For general discussion related to Biology, go here: chat.stackexchange.com/rooms/1997/the-biosphere
"SAY NO TO THE RIGGED ECONOMY THAT PUTS REPUTATION IN THE HANDS OF THE MILLIONAIRES AND THE BILLIONAIRES. AliceD IS THE CANDIDATE OF THE TOP 1%! THE ELITES ARE DESTROYING OUR SE SITE BY EARNING RESPECT FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE SITE. VOTE FOR SOMEONE WITH THE EXPERIENCE THAT REALLY MATTERS, VOTE FOR ResearchGate & Yahoo!Answers 2017!"
Repeating just since I didn't get an answer :) "For any of the candidates, I am curious how you view the role of moderators in current/active vs. older questions on the site. What do you think the role of a moderator is, if any, with respect to questions that have been inactive for at least 6 months?"
Mods do a lot of work nobody knows about, everyone complains if they make a mistake but usually nobody even realizes it when they do their jobs well. They are often the target of users' ire and are exposed to all the ugliness that their actions protect other users from.
This site has a structural deficiency of active (up)voters. Somehow people hold back on it. Personally I am a heavy voter (up and down for that matter) and that is what makes a site.
