@Rosario It will use a least squares fit if the system is over-specified, and error if the system either is under-specified or has no solution.

Hi everyone!
Dyalog is applying for Google Summer of Code 2025 (https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/). It is a program to promote open source software development where organisations with opensource projects apply and receive contributors from the platform who work on the project and they get a stipend.

For GSoC, Dyalog needs to make an idea list of projects we think will be good for contributors to work on. We would appreciate if the community would also take a look at the projects we have chosen, give their opinions on things that should be added or subtracted or changed from these ideas

TinyAPL 0.11.0.0 just released! The biggest addition are dictionaries, which are pretty interesting, but there's lots of other stuff. Like always there's an accompanying blog post.

OK OK so I was being somewhat optimistic with my estimate of when we’d upload new images. However, it has finally happened, so you can download the latest 18.2 and 19.0 images from https://www.dyalog.com/download-zone.htm or, for the Raspberry Pi, from https://packages.dyalog.com/. We’ve also updated the dyalog/dyalog Docker images on https://hub.docker.com.

The installation images in the Download Zone are exactly the same files as are on my.dyalog.com.

Announcement: As the the Dyalog comp has now closed, I've just published my intro to APL book: xpqz.github.io/learnapl/intro.html. If you find any errors, I'd appreciate you raising an issue in github.com/xpqz/learnapl. My thanks to @RGS and @rak1507 for reviewing -- any remaining errors are 100% mine.

@dzaima In unrelated news: CTO watched my demo of your IDE, and now it looks like we'll start making Android builds so you can get a native interpreter to play with for it.

I'd expect it to be negligible. The length of an array is directly readable from its memory pocket.

I've just published an APL implementation of the yard-sale model (a model that predicts that the rich will get richer while the poor get poorer).

https://github.com/romilly/yard-sale

I need to tidy up the notebooks but background and essential code are in the README.
I'd love some feedback.

Announcement: We're about to launch a site that verifies solutions to the APL Programming Competitions' phase I problems for the last few years. Let me know if you want to test the site (you'll probably have to solve the problems) and/or write some APL code to implement lenient checking of user solutions.

Hi everyone! So the news this week is that I have now left Dyalog. I've started working on implementing an APL-like language with new symbols and semantics and have plans for another array language as well. More on both later.
