Lavarand was a hardware random number generator designed by Silicon Graphics that worked by taking pictures of the patterns made by the floating material in lava lamps, extracting random data from the pictures, and using the result to seed a pseudorandom number generator.
== Details ==
Although the secondary part of the random number generation uses a pseudorandom number generator, the full process essentially qualifies as a "true" random number generator due to the random seed that is used. However, its applicability is limited by its low bandwidth.
It was covered under the now-expired ...
It's easiest to write for the system you're working at and remember that other systems may work differently. But it isn't easy to write for some imaginary system that might exist that is very different from your own. Porting software to a foreign system is best done by users of that foreign system.
We've finally added the code:"x" syntax into the search tips on /search! It only took us... checking my notes here ...8 years. Oof. Sorry about that. Thanks for the request, we really appreciate it.
Genuine question, apropos of nothing in particular: if someone persistently spams this room with low-quality irrelevant questions betraying not even the barest modicum of effort or competence or care or improvement over time, how long would they need to do that for before one of that majority of regular attendees of the room with the ability to do so intervened to stop that from happening?
We cannot do that. We can only answer what you show us. If you cannot show your data, then you cannot ask a question. That might not be your fault, but it does mean that we cannot help you since you cannot give us the information needed to understand your problem.
KPIs don't explain everything. My suspicion is that Sara Chipps genuinely wants to make SO more inclusive, but is completely incapable of doing it because she's too self-centered to understand other people's needs.
That way, we can think of a way to automate it. But if you just tell us "I manually edit a file, but I don't show you the data nor what kind of modification, so you need to guess and automate it", we can't help

If nothing else, I see the CoC change flushed out a different, un-named moderator who lacked the self-control to avoid publicly calling people who identify as non-binary as 1) mentally ill 2) not ready to participate at SE. I don't want that person moderating. Seems to me we were desperately overdue for some political activism.
I'm afraid that SE is on a destructive course. Anybody who wants to try to move the community to a more welcoming place is welcome to contact me (drop me a note on SE and I'll find a way to give you an email address).
@AdamL Those were mostly developed by the amusing described USA Department of Defense. Sometimes referred to as the Pentagon. With the ultimate aim of helping them kill large numbers of people more efficiently, I suppose.
"I'm telling ls to print long output and it is, how do I get rid of all this extra output?" "Just stop telling it to print long output" "no...that's not it"
