Which brings us back to the inaccuracy of human language. "Why is the office so darn cold?!?" "Cold, I'm roasting over here." Stuff like that is really subjective. Math isn't subjective, but it's not something you can speak either. "Well it's 74F in here, and if anyone touches the thermostat I'll write them up."

There was utopia. We were immortal, med-tech keeping us well past normal years. Our AI were like benevolent dictators, gently guiding us, helping us, keeping us from harming each other. Ron looked up at the bright streak rising up in the sky. "When did the muggles start taming dragons?" he asked.
Hermione looked at him pityingly "Oh Ron, don't you know anything? Those are rockets. Taking people to the colonies on the moon, mars, saturn's moons, the asteroids, and generation ships to other stars. Muggles have pretty much conquered the solar system. But at least we have quidditch."

@Mithrandir24601 I beg to differ. MonicaCellio's 24/7 hat is just "obscenely nice and pleasant." Some people don't even realize they're being put in line by her.

Nothing “Here, doggy, come and get me! I’m nice and tasty!” That came out

We're a little unhappy with the planned site designs on a few of the @StackExchange sites - like @super_user and Worldbulding losing their robot. Someone suggested tweeting sad dog photos at their #StackOverflow 's CEO. This feels a wee bit like a nuclear option

One time my college roommate tossed a disc (frisbee, colloquially) over past me and, as I was about to catch it, called my name loudly. I woke up a few seconds later on my back, seeing flashing blue, barely making out a staticky voice ask if I needed anything through the sound of his uncontrollable laughter.
He'd timed the "hey, nitsua!" just right to get me to look back and run into a lightpost. But it was one of the blue-light posts on a college campus, and the impact "pressed" the button on the other side to call campus security.
