In the bygone days of yore, creativity was an open field, ripe for exploration by any intrepid soul with the inclination and the talent. Yet, Adobe, like a vast and shadowy conglomerate, has cast its ominous pall over this once thriving landscape, consolidating power and resources in a manner that would make even the most ruthless industrialist blush.

And as we all know, being turned into Newt is not a good thing.

... and can I get disability if stack is now a "hostile workplace"???? :) Honestly just seems SE suddenly want to monetize everything they haven't been monetizing (and it seems both the AI issue and data dump issue feed that perception for me)

@Scott I am not exactly sure whether this is a counter to something and if yes, to whom, but: If something feels like AI to you, flag it. There is no need to fact-check it. Most AI stuff reveals itself by not addressing the question. Don’t worry if such flags are wrong occasionally.

I foresee science moving away from using Adobe if this trend continues. Which means I'll have to finally learn Affinity Designer to be able to keep them as a customer ^^'

@joojaa it comes as no surprise. I really wish to know if the last couple of years of sluggishness in Adobe CC comes from them focusing on harvesting my data instead of making a good product.

@RussianBlue just step away for a bit, take a break for a few days/weeks.. don't delete the account. I've gotten letters.. been banned, suspended, etc.. It's not that big of a deal. I know when emotions are high it can seem important, but in the grand scheme of things it's really not. Two anonymous users disagreeing on some web site is hardly anything to get overly worked up about.

@Vincent, I've been flipping through the books by Jan V. White (available at janvwhite.org). There are examples like that but I can't seem to find a precise term for it. Perhaps you can find something there. In one place he simply calls it "space on either side for sideheads, annotations, or small illustrations."
