@MadaraUchiha No, but you can certainly try to take them... For example, casperOne has been migrating everything that's on-topic to CodeReview even if it's on-topic for SO.
@Mysticial That seems like abusing the system. Though if there was a migration path and we had enough 3k users they couldn't really stop us except by reporting it to SE.
Judging by the fact that JNat's answer at meta.scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/2621/… is +5, it seems like their users don't really have a problem with us and to some degree agree that we are probably better for anime questions.
So we may not even need to do anything. If their users direct people here as a better place for anime, that would be the best solution and would avoid any conflict.
@Mysticial Back on topic, A better way to do it would be to answer and then note in the answer that this site exists. An even better way (which will not usually be possible) is to point to a related question on this site in your answer.
Kaonashi (No-Face)
"No-Face is a lonely being who seems to sustain itself on the emotions of those he encounters, particularly their emotional reception to his gifts."
In the film, the gold produced by No-face is seen to turn into dirt as Yubaba realises her baby is gone. In this sense does it ...
ok,I just realised a few days ago that there was a spirited away tag so yeah — WatchJan 28 at 1:40
^^ That comment is very telling.
He didn't ask it on Anime because he didn't know it existed.
It's because that tag didn't exist.
We should set a new (and very in-your-face) big policy that if you don't have the rep to make a tag, put in a (to-be-made) temporary tag and let a high-rep user add the tag manually.
@LoganM nonono, because he didn't know the tag existed.
@MadaraUchiha Neither do I. Right now, if you're a new user and you can't make a tag for your question, you probably just gonna leave. Or try something generic like anime
@LoganM Oh ok, so that's not the problem in this particular case. But in general, the tag creating thing is going to be a problem until we reach critical mass.
@Mysticial A few new users have asked questions where they asked someone to make a tag for them and tagged the question with random other stuff. I've fulfilled 3 or 4 such requests, and I imagine the other people with retag privileges have as well.
@Mysticial These aren't the worst tags in the world as long as they're being used correctly. They are actually useful to sort by and it's more intuitive for new users.
Maybe we should keep them for longer. Put them on some old closed -3 question and just let them sit there.
I'd say just make one retag with synonyms anime-retag and manga-retag (and maybe some others if you want). That way we can see all the questions needing retagging at the same time.
retag could still be useful for if there are cases where it's neither anime nor manga. But anyway, there's no need to blacklist. The only people using these tags will be people who can't create tags on their own.
anime-retag and manga-retag will capture not only those who type in "anime" and "manga", but will capture the more "familiar" users who will try "retag"
