^^ That should be in the next discussion whenever we do it.
Oh... it's starred.
lol :)
I think we should also discuss the state of the site and future promotion if we have the time
So yeah, are questions about on-going series that are unanswerable until later episodes constructive?
@Krazer Yeah, though whatever we decide should hold off for a bit so we can get a clear view of our unaided statistics.
@Mysticial they are not, but they will most likely have answers. So I'm not sure if they should be closed.
or maybe closed and reopened later is ok?
Mar 2, 2013 18:10
@Krazer I'm here now. Traffic messed me up.
Even the OP is unlikely to bother to go back and flag it to be reopened.
@LoganM Welcome :)
@Eric We've been holding off for a while anyways. I don't see a risk that we'll get shutdown at this point. So publicity stunts aren't high priority anymore.
The problem with closing and reopening is that no one will remember to reopen them.
@Eric exactly
And not too many of us have reopen powers.
Mar 2, 2013 18:10
So, when do we start?
Not like we'd want to rely on flags either.
Are we still waiting for someone?
@JNat I think we should leave a comment, and keep it open
@Krazer and protect
Mar 2, 2013 18:11
@JNat I don't think we need to go that far
@JNat I don't think it's necessary, unless it attracts a lot of crap.
One or two speculative answers is fine.
@Mysticial ok, agreed
Our scope is bound to draw in some speculation, whether we like it or not.
And serves the purpose of showing that the answer isn't known yet.
We just don't want answers of guesswork and "I think"s.
Mar 2, 2013 18:12
A lot of the times, I get to a point in the show, and I'm like, "huh?!?! Did I miss something?"
If I find a question asking the same thing, and all the answers are speculative. Then I know I didn't miss anything.
And the "Huh!?!?!?!" is correct.
I guess that raises the question: Do we keep answers that are outdated?
Let's say we have an old, outdated answer, and then a new, correct answer comes.
Most people would downvote the old answer.
I think it's good to ask these questions now so ppl come back and check later
@Krazer yes, that's good
@Eric I think we should make a comment that it's out dated
@Eric I'd say keep them, but add a "as of episode X...".
Mar 2, 2013 18:14
give the answerer time to change their answer
if they do not, you can add a new answer with a note of the change
"The answer was finally revealed in episode X: ..."
I'm okay with the "As of episode X" as well, because then it's not a "wrong" answer. And it shows that it's dated. But perhaps a comment to the answerer as well.

A: What are the feathers on Rei's neck?

KrazerSo far, it's been revealed that it indicates how many Empowering Arrows she can fire and that she only has twelve of these arrows available.

^^ So rephrase that to "as of episode 7"
8 actually... episode 8 didn't reveal anything either...
@Mysticial ok, I agree with that
I added the former
Mar 2, 2013 18:16
so we'll need to keep an eye out for answers saying "so far, we know...."
@JNat Yeah.
and rephrase them to include episodes/chapters number
Ok. So the concensus is: For questions that aren't answerable until later episodes:
1. Keep open.
2. Allow speculative answers of the form, "as of episode X.
3. Real answers will come later when it is revealed.

@Mysticial Agree.
Mar 2, 2013 18:17
agreed
I'll do the meta post on it if it's all good.
@Mysticial As of Episode X/Chapter Y
@Krazer yeah
@Mysticial Go for it.
so this is settled
