@ToshinouKyouko The first got twice the results on Google
we change it
and synonymise
That can be a quick and dirty measurement.
I don't think that we should bicker about it too much.
We determine quickly which is the more popular.
If someone has an objection, just yell on meta.
Moderators can rename tags pretty easily.
@MadaraUchiha and if, for some reason and on a special case, we don't, meta it
@MadaraUchiha yes
so tl;dr staying the same apart from flag to add extra title?
Is everyone OK with that?
Jan 17, 2015 19:11
Works for me.
yes for both of the above
👍
excuse my inactivity as i make dinner
So our conclusions from this:
1. We tag according to which is more popular, and synonym to alternatives.
2. Please flag posts with eligible tags without synonyms with the alternative name(s).
3. If anyone has an objection towards the naming/priority of any tag, post on meta.
Next topic por favor. @JNat -dono
(No problem here, usual process, since this is not doable by regular users)
@MadaraUchiha We're over one hour now, and what was pressing for this discussion has been discussed. Maybe we leave it at this, and hand out the link for the survey.
Unless someone wants to add something
IMO
Unless we want to say anything else about the id-reqs again
since the tagging issue was settled easily and quickly
Jan 17, 2015 19:14
Don't do it
Its a trap
What about the H-stuff?
Let's put it to a vote.
If you'd like to continue with the discussion, please star this message.
If you'd like to end here and schedule another meeting, please star this message.
I cannot star on my tablet
But I vote #2
@ToshinouKyouko Voted for you.
so we're tied with 3 votes
Jan 17, 2015 19:16
@MadaraUchiha how @_@
@JNat 3-2. Madara voted for TK.
@Eric oh, ok
@ToshinouKyouko RO/mods can star own messages.
Those who wish to stay to discuss may stay
Jan 17, 2015 19:16
By pinning and unpinning (star remains)
anyone wanting a break should watch animu or read mangos
The next topic on the table is community engagement
In my opinion that should take a whole session
Oh
I thought it was more id-req stuff
Agreed.
Jan 17, 2015 19:17
wait, what about link to survey? for people leaving
When's the next meeting if we were to schedule another one?
I don't mind continuing other topics
So we'll probably skip that one for now, and move on to the H content
@Jnat where do we take the survey?
I think keep it pg + spoilers
Jan 17, 2015 19:18
Anything not PG-13 should be behind a link labelled NSFW in bold.
@ʞɹɐzǝɹ what do you mean?
@Eric I thought we can't link to NSFW things period? chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/19395616#19395616
Alright, again, let's make things clear.
@JNat link to the forms
According to the content policy, but aside from my own posts I don't really care whether people do or not.
Jan 17, 2015 19:19
The Stack Exchange user policy allows users of age 13+ to join and participate in the site.
2
@ʞɹɐzǝɹ How do you think we've been doing? Do you want to see us take a new direction in this new year? Let us know you thoughts here!
5
This means that anything that is rated above 13 should be said carefully.
@ʞɹɐzǝɹ -dono, please edit it into something fancy to star and have it on the side
that way people who weren't here can still participate
There is a big difference between NSFW and H
NSFW is anything an average person wouldn't want on his screen at work
And H is, in my books, anything rated 18+.
H is a subset of NSFW.
Jan 17, 2015 19:21
Yes
What if u work in pornhub
So while NSFW can sometimes be okay
I think that, at the very least, we want those not be oneboxed and labeled
@ToshinouKyouko only if you do QA for them
Jan 17, 2015 19:22
As for H content, I hereby cast a veto on flat out pornography. As I see fit.
A line must be drawn, and this is where I put it.
Are we talking about for chat, or the main site?
What is your distinction
@Eric main site
or both, actually
As much as this is a chat, and we're having fun here, this is still under Stack Exchange and this is a system that expects some degree of professionalism.
From the policy link: Accounts that use Stack Exchange to post sexually explicit or pornographic material, or links to it, will be suspended.
Jan 17, 2015 19:24
Either way, as long as stuff is labelled NSFW and linked, I don't care what it links to.
I don't know what we mean by "flat out pornography". Taken literally, that would seem to ban lots of major series including e.g. .
If you'd like to share porn open an IRC channel.
is sexually explicit != pronographic?
@GaoWeiwei I wouldn't say so, but the law may
@GaoWeiwei It shouldn't be. Ecchi isn't hentai or porn
Jan 17, 2015 19:24
explicit = showing genital (?) not sure myself
What about questions that don't refer to anything super explicit
@LoganM I don't think there's a problem with discussing non-explicit material.
@MadaraUchiha by labelled you don't mean tagged, right?
@GaoWeiwei They aren't the same, strictly speaking. Pornography is sexually explicit material produced for the purpose of sexually stimulating the observer.
But post naughty pictures == big no no.
Jan 17, 2015 19:25
Or links to naughty pics
@JNat Here in chat, it's labeled
Depends, but I recently linked to the official website of a VN
@Yuuki Right. I'm okay with things that are censored even if they are porn
As for QA, extreme care must be taken.
!!define explicit
Jan 17, 2015 19:26
And you know what to expect in there
@ʞɹɐzǝɹ explicit Very specific, clear, or detailed.
For example, a documentary might be sexually explicit without being pornographic.
I don't want to ban all hentai questions, because there are merit in those questions.
But we must take extreme care with those questions.
So just ones that have link/pics/overly explicit language?
@ToshinouKyouko No.
Jan 17, 2015 19:27
Can u clarify then
0
Q: Who is the guy on the left in this collage poster? And which anime is he from?

mirian rcheulishviliI saw this guy on a poster with Beyond the Grave and Trigun's main protagonist. But I can't find who he is, nor whether he has his own anime. The guy is on the left, wielding two crimson swords, with gray hair.

Imagine if someone were to describe 2g1c or BnP in a question
And not do it professionally or carefully
But flat out say "And then she ate her shit, and then they fucked each other's brains out" or a similar thing
That falls under language no?
Hey spoilers
I think it may be a saving spoiler though
In any case
Here in chat, I will personally enforce that.
So if question is educational and no pic/link showing sexual intercourse, it'll be fine?
Jan 17, 2015 19:29
As for QA, I don't think there's any other way than decided on a per-case basis.
@GaoWeiwei Probably.
quick! everyone flag him! (don't actually do this)
What if I ask about BnP like:
How does SE enforce that rule on human biology and sexuality sites?
@GaoWeiwei probably through mods
@GaoWeiwei It typically doesn't.
Jan 17, 2015 19:30
A hentai where there is love between X and X and there was a scene where NOTEXPLICIT happened
At least not literally.
@GaoWeiwei There was a sexuality site, which was closed down
@MadaraUchiha agreed. Despite the nature of the content and the cares we need to take because of it, they should be regarded as any other question. Point in case, an id-req question that asks for a hentai should only be closed or downvoted as any other id-req question would be (putting aside the language and possible image cares we'd need to take).
@GaoWeiwei Sexuality was shot down, as for Biology, I'm not sure.
The sexuality site was a special case, since it was only 18+.
Jan 17, 2015 19:31
@GaoWeiwei not explicitly
@ʞɹɐzǝɹ Strictly speaking, biology.stackexchange.com/questions/24298/… is sexually explicit, though not pornographic, as are many of the questions they have there tagged [sex].
so looks like we have a consensus, summary if you will, Sr, JNat
Wait
Can I have my above question answered
So we're all agreed on this matter? H questions should be taken care of on a per-case basis (regarding the hiding and editing of content and language), but otherwise allowed and treated as any other question, both in terms of closing and/or voting
@ToshinouKyouko i think it's ok to ask that
Jan 17, 2015 19:34
@ToshinouKyouko it's fine
OK, then I'm fine with your proposals
@ToshinouKyouko allowed, and regarded as any other id-req question
(Not planning on asking this question btw :p)
@LoganM I was making a ironic pun with there being no specific rule on the explicit stuff
Once again, then, should we move on to the next matter, or wrap it up?
We've been at it for 90 minutes
Jan 17, 2015 19:35
oic
Next up would be the allowing or not of Japanese language on questions on the main site
Vote below, please
Carry on
Wrap it up
As in: anime-related ones?
if no more votes are cast, I guess we'll wrap it up
@ToshinouKyouko Yes, written in Japanese
Jan 17, 2015 19:36
@MadaraUchiha that, yeah
@JNat Not answer?
Oh, like the question written in Japanese?
@nhahtdh Posts in general.
@nhahtdh questions and answers, yeah
@ToshinouKyouko yes
Ok, the votes are up, and we're gonna wrap it up for today
Yeah wrap it up until A&M .JP is up :p
Jan 17, 2015 19:37
Alright folks
Thanks for participating
Thanks everyone for participating today
Please take a moment to answer the survey linked to on the side bar
We need another meeting. Next week I won't be here at this time, though.
We will schedule a new meeting
