@ArdaXi Who the hejudas is Tim Minchin?
@Fabian I can't even convince my biology teacher that homeopathy doesn't work.
@GraceNote Okay, so I was horribly mistaken.
Should I want to know who this person is?
Probably not. He's not a very nice person.
I recall this being linked in here.
@ArdaXi That's pretty sad, although it really does not suprise me
Can't watch that here, but given your not-a-nice-person analysis I probably won't even watch it when I can.

@GraceNote Don't take me the wrong way, I think he's brilliant, but he's not really nice to people who believe in pseudoscience et al.
@ArdaXi I'm not really a fan of people being supra mean.
Homeopathy really suprises me, it's so obviously wrong but far too many people belive in it
At least, in so far as situations that don't involve assassination.
@GraceNote I would agree, but the only people I debate it with are the people that insist on trying to convince me. That tends to annoy me after a while.
To illustrate, a mild example:
“So you don’t believe

@ArdaXi If he believes in homeopathy, he does believe in pseudoscience
@GraceNote It was fun with who, but tiresome after what?
@Fabian I'm talking about Tim Minchin there.
@ArdaXi Arnk is a lad who could debate her own sex. Shamgi was a person I knew who would jump into debates on anything, without provocation.
@GraceNote points to his own title
(Un)fortunately, most of the people who are any good at debating usually agree with me.
@ArdaXi You're in between. Trust me, you're not the level of Shamgi.
@ArdaXi You haven't met any stubborn people yet
Feb 22, 2011 22:57
@GraceNote Trust me, I hold back a lot on here. I'm much much worse in real life.
@Fabian Oh yes I have. I said 'most'. Usually, those that are stubborn are not that good at debating. When I meet someone who is stubborn, contra-convinced and good at debating, I have entertainment for months.
@ArdaXi As much as your debating here on whether or not you're as bad as Shamgi is humorous, it's still not as bad. Unless you appear to debate for your own personal amusement at those who have to suffer at your words.
I'm pretty happy that I have never met any of the worst pseudoscience peddlers yet. I don't think I would have managed to keep my calm
@GraceNote Again, I do much, much worse in real life. And yes, I do find personal entertainment in debate, as well as personal enrichment.
