it can shrink C drive to install ubuntu there too.
@Anwar Oooh so i wont select it right?

@Anwar i still will be able to choose at the begging when the computer opens?
Sep 22, 2012 05:18

Ubuntu is not unsocial like Windows
It will happily stay with Windows
There is a table full of items
What should i do here?

6gbs are used
but I did empty it
but i couldnt format it
OK, select the entry with /dev/sda5
then press "Change" button
Sep 22, 2012 05:24
there will be a size option, reduce the size leaving some thousands for you swap
for example, if the size is 50000
and my ram is 2GB
and I want my swap to be 2GB
I'll reduce the size to 48000
my size is 100027
I have a 4GB ram
ok. you will be fine with 4GB~ swap
so i reduce it to 6000?
reduce around 4000 from the value
Sep 22, 2012 05:26
@MohamedAhmedNabil No
It is 6000
for (6GB swap)
im bad at math
It should be 96000 ?
put 94027
we are leaving 6000 MB for swap
approximately 6GB
I have a 4 GB ram
Sep 22, 2012 05:28
@MohamedAhmedNabil OK then,
It will not harm. you can put 96000 or 94027
Ill put it at 94000 just in case
OK
then select / in the mount point
btw there are 5997 MBs used already
Is that a problem?
Sep 22, 2012 05:30
didn't you empty it already?
if you need it
otherwise, those will be deleted
I dont need anything on that partition
OK, fine
don't worry about those stuff
Ubuntu can handle those junk :P
So now Ubuntu will format it?
yes.
Select / as mount point
What about the use as
Sep 22, 2012 05:32
is there a drop down list?
if yes, select EXT4 partition type
it should be selected by default
The default was dont use this partition
Now i set it to EXT4 journaling file system
right?
ok fine
29 secs ago, by Mohamed Ahmed Nabil
The default was dont use this partition
because there was something in that partition
EXT4 journaling file system?
Sep 22, 2012 05:33
as you don't need them, you're ok with EXT4
@MohamedAhmedNabil yes
Select Format the partition?
yes
what should i choose for mount point?
