Anyone know a company that might be interested in hosting sql fiddle, as a free service?
I would need 4GB of RAM, with at least 2GB available for a windows server (or VPS)
@JakeFeasel Have you approached the stackoverflow people? Seems like a good fit...
nope, not yet
that is a good idea
@JakeFeasel are you choking, or handing off?
@swasheck nope, I just want to be able to run the site without either 1) the charity of my current employer or 2) $200/mo out of my own pocket
I need to spend some time finding sponsors (or something) to actually bring in some revenue
that would also solve the problem
@JakeFeasel Maybe you could ask @AaronBertrand's employer SqlSentry. If you put up an ad for them on the site they might come to the party for $200/month (or more).

@ConcernedOfTunbridgeWells Ok, yeah I might run that by him. Thanks for the tip
anyone in here right now use BCP for any exporting?
@bluefeet I have within living memory.
@JakeFeasel Speak of the devil.
I am having an awful time trying to get something to export
Hi @AaronBertrand!

So, you might notice the preceding discussion... any thoughts?
I saw the conversation. I will bring it up. They may only be interested in the SQL Server portion though. You know, because that's our entire customer base. :-)
@AaronBertrand Hmm, well okay we could probably work with that. Anything helps!
Of course, it kind of all comes as a package. I have thought of having some kind of "Fiddle of the Day" promoted, brought to you by X company
in this case, possibly where X = SqlSentry
@JakeFeasel $200/month should be peanuts to them. if they want to advertise on the SQL Server bits for that I'm sure something might be arranged :)
@ConcernedOfTunbridgeWells I know BCP will not work with temp tables, but I have a stored proc that uses dynamic sql to insert into a table. BCP keeps throwing an error on that part of my proc
@AaronBertrand Thanks for your interest. Shoot me an email if / when you hear something : admin at sqlfiddle dot com

Do you have accurate usage statistics available? We'll be asking for those. :-)
Sure - google analytics. Just checked - last month got 10k visits
Also can it stay where it is or does it have to be moved? Will you continue to manage it or is "might be interested in hosting sql fiddle" equivalent to "might be interested in managing"?
Is that unique or agg?
averaging about 400-500 visits each weekday
it can stay where it is, and yes I'll definitely still be managing it
7000 unique visitors during last 30 days, 10000 visits
distmdl.mdf databases ... lots of google searching, no definitive answer on how to use the db ... especially when it's not attached
Which is slightly down from the previous month
but not much

Do you track the number of queries (or visits, or both) segmented by platform chosen? If not, is this something that could be added?
@AaronBertrand I can email you an export from google analytics of any metric you're interested in
yeah I keep everything
reports like that are easily built
Hmm, would be an interesting feature of sql fiddle - a method for reading the management database
something akin to SO's data explorer
would become very meta
