Earlier in my GIS and "programming"* learning experience I tended to post big congealed globs of code. I simply didn't understand the problems or programming concepts well enough to break it down. Usually I was chastised for it and rarely received what I perceived as helpful answers. Some of that chastisment still smarts. On the other hand I put a lot more energy into breaking things down now, and consequently at least of half of the issues I start composing questions about resolve themselves during the composition period (breaking things into ever smaller more comprehensible pieces).
