I read somewhere on the gaming site that The Bridge is used for gaming recommendations... Can anybody instruct me, please, to a game similar to Sword of the Samurai? In that game, you start out as a samurai and you can become the daimyo. The game itself is a collection of minigames, but I'm quite taken with the concept of starting out low and getting to be the big kahuna, as it were. There are few games like that, the only other I can think of, that is in a similar vein, is Sid Meier's Pirates.

The setting isn't that important, I'm looking for open-ended games, after being disappointed by Dragon Age 2...

Well, "open-ended" isn't the most correct term, I guess, since I like to have finality in what I do in a game... But, yeah, can anybody recommend any games similar to Sword of the Samurai or Sid Meier's Pirates? Thanks! And I apologize if I shouldn't have asked for a game-rec here.

Anyway, Portal 2's countdown clock makes reference to a final test, which presumably will be shown at 9am PDT (about 2.5 hours from now).

I spent this morning before work trying to fix my TF2 server. It crashes a LOT since the latest update. :/

Q: Does Curse affect normal pokemon?

I know Shadow Ball won't affect normal pokemon, but Confuse Ray will, and both are ghost type attacks. So, will Curse (when used by a ghost, of course) affect a normal pokemon?

Q: What exactly is displayed on the left and right borders of the screen?

I couldn't find any clue in the Dwarf Fortress documentation about what is displayed on the left and right borders of the screen besides the number in the bottom right corner being the current level. Can you point me to a documentation or just explain what I'm seeing there?
