Doesn't any of the built in classes have that? Or just use a table? (it is a table)

It only works on block level elements with a set width

text-align should work for inline elements

blogoverflow.com is probably going to migrated to SE soon and used as a proving ground for new blogs, so you'll be whatever theme it is the current blogs use, I guess.
