room topic changed to The Heap: General on-site discussion for dba.stackexchange.com [bollocks] [mysql] [nosql] [oracle] [sql-server]
This is for @gbn
@satishpandey I would like to briefly discuss the edit I rejected from you if we can.
The issue is that it is possible to have a schema-less table-oriented database, although that would be sorta odd. Consider for starters the basic KVP (which is akin to a dictionary or hashtable)
So to remap the wiki for mongodb, from NoSQL to Schema-less, is incorrect.

@jcolebrand do SE see feature requests on our meta or do we have to ask them to take a look?

Q: Can we have <!-- language-all: sql --> applied by default

Jack DouglasI mean can we have <!-- language-all: sql --> applied by default to all posts where no highlighting is specified of course. I note this would make us different from the rest of SE, but on a site like this I think a SQL default makes sense. The alternative is we go through and set the defa...

I don't think there is going to be any disagreement on this one judging by the reaction do far...

@JackDouglas They should, eventually. You should probably add the tag to your request. You could also optionally add a comment on Geoff's answer pointing to the request, but I'm not sure that that's necessary.
Mathematica has lang-mma applied to seemingly every post, but I'm not sure if that's just a product of them tediously applying it to all tags or if the site has a global default set.

@Tim thanks for the input - I've added the tag as suggested and I'll give it a few more months before I start bothering them ;-)

I am having problems with my blog post - it swallows URL links. When I add them either manually or by pressing link button, they just disappear when i switch to visual. Any suggestions?

@JackDouglas 100% serious. What are the benefits of creating 100 different tables for 100 different types of lookup strings? The table(s) will be in memory in either case, so the only real difference I see is programmability. I'd rather key into a single table than have to specify the table name depending on the lookup type. The latter is harder to do without dynamic SQL.
@AlexKuznetsov I had no problems with links, but I made my blog post before the switch. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Also I never switch back and forth between HTML and visual, I always just use the preview link, I find it easier to switch tabs and make small edits than to switch modes within WP.
