11:00 PM
@Ansari thanks for correcting the hadeeth

no problem - @Ershad did so as well mashaAllah :)
let's try to be as precise as we can bi idhnillah

i was packing earlier and chatting at the same time!

@NesreenA I think we've established that you are awesome
mashaAllah :)

@NesreenA I am honored. my best and closest friends are palestenitan. from Ghazza, I even speak ghazzawi accent perfectly

thanks!
im from the west bank

11:01 PM
والنعم

bahki ma3 il chaff

Ladies are quad core.. they can achieve multiple tasks at once.. unlike men.. or atleast me.. one task at a time!
مافهمتك يانسرين
guys.. do u think it is a good idea to make question about the physical-spiritual islam?

@NesreenA I concur with Ansari. I didnt have half of wisdom/knowledge about religion as you when I was your age

lamma bakool "kursee" or chair binkool "chirsee
with a cha
its all because of school

Well, @HaLaBi I do not differentiate physical spiritual

11:03 PM
oh ya.. ahl aldheffa ye7ko hek

@NesreenA That is actually awesome considering you are in west

thats the correct thing @Ershad, but i am seeing more people who are more into physical islam.. not spiritual..

@Ershad thanks
they dont do it in ramallah or jerusalem

Alquds you mean...

don't do what there?

11:05 PM
pronounce the K as ch in arabic..

speak with a cha sound

not all words.. but selected words... same as people from Dar3a in Syria... and from some parts in Jordan..

i think its stupid but if i speak with an older lady with a "k" she will think im trying to show im better than her or im trying to erase some culture

yes. exactly.. i got what you mean

Alright people, I gotta go .. Assalamu Alaikkum wa rahmatullah. It was good talking to you all.

11:07 PM
wa3alakum isalam

yeah, i'm Canadian. never really been out of the country.

I was born in Medinah.. we have a special accent there.. I have to use it when I speak to old people from medinah.. or I will get that lovely comments..

(unless you count cross-border shopping back when i was a baby.)

wa3alykum assalam ershad.. god bless you

where did you cross the border? america?

11:08 PM
@goldPseudo I would love to meet you if you ever come to Hajj or Umrah.

God willing. it's expensive to travel that far from here though :(

someone here lives 15 minutes away from me.... assuming the information is corect

@nesreenA It's Canada. how many borders do you think we have? :p
cross-border from BC to Washington, I believe.

lol

haha yeah if it were me i wouldbe going the other way!

11:10 PM
can't remember if Idaho is even accessible from BC or not.

oh i checked who is was, its ashes666

When I was young.. I wanted to live in Canada,, so i can learn french and english at once..

i go to the mall in his/her city all the time
i saw in a documentry that they dont lock there doors there

i'm pretty sure ashes is not palestinian

im in amrica ;0

11:11 PM
i think you're talking about Dynamic perhaps
ah then he's not here either ;)

i live in california

that's canada :)
(for ashes)

are you sure?

we definitely have an Ontario in Canada.

yes actually

CA is California...

mine says CA too

yup

we have ontario too

@goldPseudo - i think pretty much every name is taken by some city in the US :)
from lebanon to medinah to paris to dublin to ontario

11:14 PM
canada says cananda
not CA

oh it depends on how you put it
CA is the country code for canada
ashes actually runs deengames
so i know for a fact he's in the greater toronto area

@Ansari even palestine is a city in tenneseee

haha exactly
hebron too

ohhh that makes sence
sense
rialto is a city in france

lol of course it is
it would be surprising if it wasn't :P

11:17 PM
some cities here are named after people
or just nice names like bloomington or springfeild

yeah in canada it's always like king this and queen that and prince this
well not always
but waay more than here

Canada is a commonwealth country?? right?

we've got that whole royalty thing to deal with, yeah.

Thats why it has queen this and king that..

so does new york they call seperate sections like that

11:20 PM
Guys, have a great day/night... I have some coding.. salam alaykum

what time is it by everyone

wa 'alaykum assalaam
17:20 here.

whats that?
5:20?

ayup

6:20 here

11:21 PM
its 2:20 A.M in Saudi Arabia..

only one hour difference

So I am in tomorrow for you ;)

4:20 here

mashaAllah @HaLaBi up for qiyam
may Allah accept

I'm just in the prairies. not that far (horizontally) from California.

11:22 PM
unfortunately No.. I had a long day today. I cam home.. my wife and my kid are at her country for a visit.. and I am all alone.. so i slept the whole day and woke up some time ago!!! bad

ah well, there is still some part of the night left :)

its cool how the website is always running since everyone is from somowhere else

Yes inshallah I will make wudhu now and pray... i will pray for you guys.. and I will as usual pray that I live till the day palestine is freed..
Actually here is a nice info...
Adhan (Azan) is there 24 hours...

ameen ya @HaLaBi - Allahumma taqabbal minka

thanks for the prayer!

11:25 PM
4 minutes between every longitude and the other.. azan takes 5 minutes in average.. so there must azan somewhere during the 24 hours.. subhan allah

do you guys pray witr with your qiyam i told my mom i do and she looked at me and said where did you get that from

:)

subahan allah!
they have a theory im an extremist! so i always have to come up with proof with things i do

God bless you

you too

11:28 PM
http://sunnah.com/urn/216390
http://sunnah.com/urn/216130
in fact, so many here: sunnah.com/search/witr-qiyam

i saw a hadeeth that you should only pray witr with i3sha if you dont wake up for qiyam so i was like its not only acceptable to do it its encouraged too!

it's almost midnight zulu time - new day for @Ershad to earn his rep cap! :) mashaAllah
yes i remember a hadith like that as well

but thats just how my family is they see they arent as religous as me and call me an extremist to justify their action
instead of joining me they try to think im wrong

yes subhanallah i suspect a lot of us are in that boat

í know im right!

11:31 PM
but at the same time, we should see it as another opportunity to be humble
and not necessarily think we're ahead
or better
or more religious

i dont tll them i am
i dont act like it either

of course not
i meant in our own hearts as well :)
(not saying that you do)
shaytan creeps up from all angles

id still perfer if they join me

indeed - may that day come soon inshaAllah

somtimes they try to convince me not to

11:34 PM
i'm curious now though, if not from your family, and you're homeschooled - where do you acquire 'ilm from?

like when i wore the 3abaa they said im still young!
INTERNET!
i love the internet

hahaha
mashaAllah

bukahri, lectures, quran, youtube

well

forums
like this one

11:35 PM
cool mashaAllah
you seem to have it figured out

the internet is awesome for knowledge, as long as you're capable of telling what's good from what's drek.

I find it good to when you find knowledge and they have citations, to check them

gtg pray and then help make dinner salam alekum

from someone just a little bit older than you - make sure to keep track of authenticity, and remember that it doesn't substitute for knowledge learned from scholars, but it does make you literate inshaAllah
there's a lot you don't learn on the internet

@NesreenA wa aalikum salaam

11:36 PM
thanks for watching out ill keep that in mind

ok inshaAllah - wa'alaikum ussalam warahmatullah

it's too easy to just read everything on answering-islam or something and think "Hey, this is Islam!"

she sounds sophisticated enough to figure out sources mashaAllah

no matter how sophisticated you are, it's still easy to be swayed by people taking words from their rightful places if you're not careful.

totally agree
which is why in general i'm wary of "the internet" as a source of knowledge
unless of course it's just the medium to learn from people i actually know
anyhoo
what's the State of the Site now
seems like no real influx of users
although i did see a few new names

11:40 PM
we're getting new content, so that's good. word of mouth takes a while to kick in.

question activity is holding

charts on how our visitors per day are changing over time would be nice.
but that's just because i like charts.

heh yeah

up to 30 avid users now.

Alhamdulillah, but we need more :)
but that will come with time

11:44 PM
God willing.
five 1k+ users as well.
question quality is generally improving.
answers too.
i haven't actually seen much worth downvoting these last couple days.
(a lot of bad English, but that can be fixed with edits)
today alone, 20 questions were asked.
(assuming by "today" I mean "over the last twenty-four hours")

that's nice mashaAllah

Alhamdulillah
You know I was thinking of ways of getting a lot of activity to the site
well..
I was looking at the chat rooms, and found that they can make events
so I was thining that we can setup an event to get activity for the site
what do you guys think?

11:59 PM
events could be nice. get enough knowledgeable people involved, we could easily do a regular halaqa or something.
