We're in the lowest plane, astral plane is full of ghost, much higher planes have much powerful beings.
We don't have access beyond astral from our ordinary mind state. So to access the highest plane of God, it's almost impossible.

You can learn about astral in short time of training, and can have first hand proof. But nobody cares, it's all about reading and watching official things and believe it whatever they say.
Recently there was a study that people can believe in any bullshit, as far it's demonstrated in 'professional', and authoritative looking way.
I've seen some ghosts, but it's difficult to control this state on demand unless you're gifted. You can get easily into meditative state, you can see auras, but it still takes more effort to get into wave ranges of astral existence.
By you, before being born you're deciding what kind of DNA you want to be born with, but they you're forgetting it, of course there is a limitation of your DNA of your parents, it needs to be compatible, and basically you're choosing your parents and part of your DNA. If you're powerful being, e.g. billions of year old, and had enlightenment few times in other lifes, then it's a matter of remembering it.
If you could incarnate into 1000 beings at the same time in different timelines by your hive consciousness, you would choose different variety of it, you can't be king or prince all the time, sometimes being a beggar has its own benefits. It's basically how it works. But having ESP gifts, it's a matter of remembering and awaking if you're drawned to it.
Currently we're in very interesting timeline, very powerful. Everything is going so fast, in one millennium is the progress of thousands in another timeline.
