Yes. Best wishes for everyone. May next year have less spam and more automated flagging!

@Glorfindel sadly I think only one of those will come true

1:16 AM
@angussidney sadly? I'm looking forward to our experimentation :)

@ArtOfCode I mean sadly there probably won't be less spam, but it will be cool for us to finally get started on autoflagging

@Undo I think you'll find that you people are in the past :P
@undo is there any reason why we can't turn autoflagging back on just for the smokey user? There isn't anything that explicity disallows it, as the documentation only forbids 'Automating flagging or closing based on dumb heuristics' (emphasis mine). And any sane person wouldn't consider an accuracy of >99.5% 'dumb'.
I do agree however that we should wait for SE approval before we start casting multiple flags on behalf of users

@ArtOfCode cc @angussidney So here's the difference - we're actually adding flags. During the run a few days ago, I abstained from flagging anything so that we weren't actually adding to our 'natural' flag volume.
So yeah, it'd probably be fine, but a competent meta-lawyer could construe it as sockpuppetry pretty easily
I mean, I got yelled at for giving it a bounty, which indicates it's being treated as my account and not its own entity

@Undo I've gotta say I'm really not concerned about the SE team here. Meta can be quietly kept in the dark easily enough until we want to say something, and I really don't see the SE team objecting to us flagging things at that accuracy - even if it is adding more flags than we'd otherwise be able to.
That said, I also appreciate that it's more of a concern for you given that it's technically your account. If it makes you happier, I'm happy to not flag things until we have team approval.
Alternatively, I'm happy to give it access to my account - disable flagging from the System account, and enable flagging on mine - that way, I'm prevented from double-flagging by the SE system.

@ArtOfCode That might be a sane way to do it
yeah, I like that

Give us a yell when you disable System :)

@ArtOfCode Mind if I just copy the existing settings over to your account?

Go for it, easier than me setting it all up again :)

kk
@ArtOfCode Should be enough to just copy FlagCondition and UserSiteSetting, right?
You'll wanna shut it off on HR, by the way

9:28 PM
@Undo aye, and OS, will do.
Condition and SiteSetting are the only user-dependent models, so they should be enough
Setting is global
so is Log

Did we ever implement flags_enabled on FlagCondition?
nope, I'm doing that
actually, can't right now.

@ArtOfCode well, it'd be nice to be able to shut off a FlagCondition without just nuking it

9:32 PM
also, go ahead and hit the red button on metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com/authentication/status again

400 Bad Request from SE API. But I should already have a token, I hit the button there not long after it was implemented.

@ArtOfCode Our error, right?

Line #27 in AuthenticationController#redirect_target, puts access_token_info = JSON.parse(open("https://api.stackexchange.com/2.2/access-tokens/#{token}?key=#{‌config["key"]}").read)["items"][0]

yeah

@Undo yeah, the SE API is complaining about something we're sending it

9:34 PM
Can we just try to flag something to see if it works?
Need to fix that, but not now. It's irritated at not having an expires param, probably

Don't see why not. I've disabled OS and HR

k, hold on
I guess I could have just dry run it and get the same result
I disputed it
also, we probably need a big red warning about how I could technically cast flags on people's behalf.

What enables that? The Auth with Write button? Stick a big red box like the one around Clifford on that page, or something

What about it? All the question marks I'm seeing are probably foreign-language characters

While we're at it, 40331 is probably a tp
I'm going through the false positives caught by that condition.
Most of them are not false.

51932?

23639 is also a tp

aye

@ArtOfCode Probably naa, everything about that is bizarre.

huh, for some reason the is_naa didn't get marked off of that when you invalidated it

weirdness around it being my own feedback, perhaps?
