4:40 AM
@KeshavSrinivasan Hello!! And sorry for creating confusion. I meant who is your favorite God or Goddess? My favourite is Krishna and Kali mata.

5:02 AM
@KrishnShweta My favorite god is Vishnu, though I also worship other gods. Here's what my room looks like:

@KeshavSrinivasan Woow!!! That's Cool Room ^.^

@KrishnShweta As you can see, there's a Ganesha picture on my door, a Ranganatha (Vishnu) picture, a Ganesha picture, and a Venkateshwara statue on my desk, and a Krishna picture and an Upilliappan (Vishnu) picture above my computer.

@KeshavSrinivasan Yeah. That's really Nice :)

@KrishnShweta Thanks

@KeshavSrinivasan I guess you won't sleep much. How many hours do you sleep?

5:07 AM
@KrishnShweta I sleep for about 8 hours. I just go to sleep late and wake up late.

@KeshavSrinivasan ^.^
And I sleep for maximum 6 hours. Sleep late and wake up early.

@KrishnShweta Oh, more sleep will make your more energetic during the day.

@KeshavSrinivasan Yeah..... I try to sleep but it's became a bit harder.
@KeshavSrinivasan Because, I want to have my status in such a way that when my relatives or neighbors look at me and they should say "She is Shweta daughter of XX and she is an Electronics Engineer "
@KeshavSrinivasan I'm very much worried about it. I think this is the reason why I'm unable to sleep.

5:35 AM
@KrishnShweta Well, perhaps if you studied Hinduism more, your stress level would go down because you would gradually start to care less about status and more about higher things.
@KrishnShweta Sure, what's your doubt?

@KeshavSrinivasan We call God and Goddess with their names, I mean Krishna, Vishnu, Shiva, Parvathi etc. And Few people use "Ji" like Krishn Ji, Ram ji which is the sign of giving respect. So my doubt is, We are calling them with their names so we are respecting them, or not?
@KeshavSrinivasan We can use their names without 'Ji' right? It's nothing like we are disrespecting them, right?

@KrishnShweta Yeah, there's nothing in Hindu scripture that requires us to use Ji. In fact Hindu scripture itself often doesn't use honorifics like Ji.

@KeshavSrinivasan Okay... Thanks :)

3 hours later…
8:29 AM
@KeshavSrinivasan Here are the photos of replica of Venkateswara temple which was constructed for Krishna Pushkaram..

1 hour later…
10:00 AM
^^ Just clarified @KeshavSrinivasan /cc @Tezz /bcc @TheDestroyer

4 hours later…
2:08 PM
@TheDestroyer Oh nice, in the video it looks exactly like the Tirupati temple. They even put the tiny Vimana Venkateshwara with the silver arch on the Vimana. That's good attention to detail.

@KeshavSrinivasan Yes. It has Vimana Venkateswara too.

@TheDestroyer Did they put it near a body of water? The one in Tirupati is at the Southern end of the Swamipushkarini lake, as I discuss here:
5
Q: Where is the allusion to Venkateshwara in the Taittiriya Upanishad?

Keshav SrinivasanDuring British rule, the town of Tirupati including its world-renowned Tirumala Venkateshwara Temple came to be controlled by the East India Company, starting in 1801. And the first East India Company official to control the area, a Collector named Stratton, was very interested in the temple, si...

@KeshavSrinivasan haha. No. They didn't put Pushkarani. It is public ground and it is temporary. So, they didn't put Pushkarini. Even i was surprised when i saw the Vimana Venkteswara.
@KeshavSrinivasan Do you know story of Vimana Venkateswara?

@TheDestroyer Oh, too bad it's temporary.
@TheDestroyer It has to do with Kubera's loan. Kubera was "worried" that after the wedding was over, Venkateshwara would just disappear from the Earth without repaying the loan. So Venkateshwara manifested himself on the Vimana, so that Kubera could always see him from outside.

@KeshavSrinivasan haha. Actually our CM Chandrababu Naidu in old city i.e near the place where Arjuna got Pasupatastra (foothills of Indrakeela), he demolished Vinayaka, Hanuman and partly Vijayayeswara Temple (Arjuna established Shiva linga after getting Pasupatastra). So, to appease Brahmins, he made temporary replica of Venkateswra.
@KeshavSrinivasan Ohh. I didn't know this.

2:19 PM
@TheDestroyer Why did he demolish all that?

@KeshavSrinivasan As a part to extend roads for Pushkaram works. He didn't follow vedic rules of removing prana from idols and all that Aagama stuff. So, Brahmins were angry on him. Finally, BJP which is alliance of his party went against him and finally they solved amicably by building new temples. He is devotee of Venkateswara (though not spiritual kind), so he made replica of Venkateswara Temple.

@TheDestroyer Wow, it's horrible to demolish a temple without removing Prana Pratishta.

@KeshavSrinivasan Yes. This made all Brahmins angry. They weren't against road extensions but methods he followed made them angry. Some images were really disturbing. They tied Hanuman statue to crane without removing Prana from it.
@KeshavSrinivasan here are some photos of exhibition.

2:39 PM
@TheDestroyer Oh nice
@TheDestroyer By the way, where did you get the idea that Arjuna and Shiva fought at the foothills of Indrakeela?

@KeshavSrinivasan It was mentioned in Shiva Purana.

@TheDestroyer The Vana Parva of the Mahabharata says "And the strong-armed Arjuna of great might set out armed with his celestial bow and a sword with golden hilt, for the success of the object he had in view, northwards, towards the summit of the Himavat." sacred-texts.com/hin/m03/m03038.htm

@KeshavSrinivasan Indrakeela mountain. Also, local stories of that hill say that. Even Kings who ruled Vijayawada made a starue of kiratarjuniya.
Kirātārjunīya (Sanskrit: किरातार्जुनीय, Of Arjuna and the Kirāta) is a Sanskrit kavya by Bhāravi, written in the 6th century or earlier. It is an epic poem in eighteen cantos describing the combat between Arjuna and lord Shiva at Indrakeeladri hills in present-day Vijayawada in the guise of a kirāta or mountain-dwelling hunter. Along with the Naiṣadhacarita and the Shishupala Vadha, it is one of the larger three of the six Sanskrit mahakavyas, or great epics. It is noted among Sanskrit critics both for its gravity or depth of meaning, and for its forceful and sometimes playful expression. This...
@KeshavSrinivasan Why i'm not able to upload some more photos?

"Arjuna soon reached the breast of the Himavat; and staying there for sometime began to shine in his brilliancy." sacred-texts.com/hin/m03/m03038.htm
@TheDestroyer I'm able to upload images.

@KeshavSrinivasan Don't know. Failed to upload images.

2:46 PM
@TheDestroyer By the way, that's a picture of the Madhya Jagannatha temple in Thirumazhisai, which I discuss here:
0
Q: Why did Thirumazhisai Alwar never sing about the Thirumazhisai Jagannath temple?

Keshav SrinivasanI just came back from a trip to India, and one of the temples I visited was the Madhya Jagannatha Vishnu temple in Thirumazhisai. Most people only know about the Jagannatha temple in Puri (which I discuss here), but there are two other Jagannatha temples in Thirumazhisai and Thirupullani. But m...

@KeshavSrinivasan Durga temple on Indrakeela mountain is famous now.
@KeshavSrinivasan Himavat is what mountain?
where it is located?

@TheDestroyer Himavat refers to the Himalayas.
@TheDestroyer And in a later chapter he identifies the specific mountain as Mount Mandara: sacred-texts.com/hin/m03/m03042.htm

@KeshavSrinivasan Arjuna did tapasya for Shiva on Indrakeela and under below that there is Durga Temple now. At foothills, Arjuna asked Shiva to stay here as Linga on small hill.

@TheDestroyer I think this may be an interpolation in the Shiva Purana, considering that the Vana Parva of the Mahabharata is talking about places far in North India.

@KeshavSrinivasan Read that temple legend. But i don't why Mahabharatha contradicts this.
@KeshavSrinivasan If this is interpolation, then who build that Vijayeswara Temple? It is Swayambhu. I visited that temple during Shivaratri.

2:56 PM
@TheDestroyer I think perhaps what happened is that someone built a temple in honor of the story of Shiva appearing before Arjuna, and then in later times there was confusion and it was mistakenly thought that that was the actual location where Shiva and Arjuna fought.

@KeshavSrinivasan Haha. No. Even there was statue of Arjuna on hilltop built by some king.
@KeshavSrinivasan ASI recovered that and put that statue in museum.

@TheDestroyer Well, none of that is inconsistent with there being confusion about that being the location.
@TheDestroyer It's similar to how there are three Ulagalantha Perumal temples which all claim to be the site where Vamana defeated Mahabali, but none of them are located on the bank of the Narmada river where Hindu scripture says it happened.

@KeshavSrinivasan People of Vijayawada strongly believe that Arjuna got Pasupatastra here. I think even Skanda says the same. I don't remember.

@TheDestroyer And also there are at least three different locations where Sabari is supposed to have lived. One theory is Sabarimala in Kerala, one theory is Hampi in Karnataka, and I think you told me a third potential location.

@KeshavSrinivasan Yeah. But History of Vijayawada is intricately linked with Pasupatastra and Goddess Durga.
@KeshavSrinivasan I will provide references for Indrakila later. I remember reading that from Shiva and Skanda Purana.

3:05 PM
@TheDestroyer OK, I'll take a look at your references, but I'm likely to remain skeptical if they contradict the Mahabharata's description.

3 hours later…
5:58 PM
@SwiftPushkar do you wanna see one Temple?
@TheDestroyer Hello.......

@KrishnShweta Hi.
@SwiftPushkar what Temple?

@TheDestroyer How are you?

@KrishnShweta good.
@KrishnShweta wbu

@KrishnShweta OM Ashram?

6:10 PM
@TheDestroyer I don't know. I have seen this pic with "Temple title"

@KrishnShweta do you know OM Parvath?
OM symbol on mountain.

@TheDestroyer Yes yes... It's OM ashram. I have googled it.
@TheDestroyer Yeah. I have seen in NEWS.

@TheDestroyer I think I have watched it 1 year ago, so...

@KrishnShweta i asked a question linking OM Parvath and Sanskrit
1
Q: Is Brahmi Script older than Devanagari Script? If yes, how this can be reconciled with ॐ Parvat?

The DestroyerSanskrit Language is believed to have no written native script. History says Brahmi Script was used for Sanskrit Language during the reign of legendary Emperor Ashoka which was around 3rd century BC. But there are some claims that Brahmi script was even used before period of Ashoka. Wiki says N...

6:16 PM
@KrishnShweta @TheDestroyer hi ..
@KrishnShweta Nice finding :)

Oh! So that mountain is called as OM parvath. I just know that OM symbol can be seen in Himalaya Mountain
@SwiftPushkar Hello.
@TheDestroyer I'll take a look :)

@KrishnShweta Yes on kailash mountain

@SwiftPushkar Yeah. Destroyer gave me the Link :)

@SwiftPushkar hi

@TheDestroyer nice and quick answer you have given abt krishna , congratulations

6:18 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan Hello :)

@TheDestroyer I would like to share a link abt that with you , pls see in.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20120514190314AAwpD8R

@SwiftPushkar i read that in faith column of The Hindu news paper. So, quickly searched and answered. Even, i want to know how many times Krishna showed his Vishnu form.

Om Parvat, ((Hindi: ओम पर्वत)), close to Adi Kailash mountain, is a mountain in the Himalayan mountain range, lying in the Darchula district of western Nepal and in Pithoragarh District, Uttarakhand, India. == Sacred Status == It is considered sacred by Hindus and its snow deposition pattern resembles the sacred 'OM' (ॐ). Its appearance is distinctly similar to Mount Kailash in Tibet. Near Om Parvat lie Parvati Lake and Jonglingkong Lake. Jonglingkong Lake is sacred, as Mansarovar Lake, to the Hindus. Opposite to this peak is a mountain called Parvati Muhar with a pass with the same name. The Om...

@SwiftPushkar I'm not sure. I read abridged version of Mahabharata by C Raja gopala chari..

@TheDestroyer some blogs claim that shree krishna showed his chaturbhuj form to Satyabhama also .

6:26 PM
@SwiftPushkar that is my first Hindu book to read. And you know why I read that? To know about Krishna. Lol. BUt a friend of me told me that I should read Bagavatam for Krishna not Mahabharata. This was 1.5 years ago.

@KeshavSrinivasan I have created rivers tag and added description to it , pls. review it whenever possible :)
@TheDestroyer Yes shreemad bhagvatam is good book for that , by the way bahgvatam and bhagvat puran are same or different ?

@SwiftPushkar we can't trust blogs. They even add folk tales and some concocted stories.

@TheDestroyer yes its true , we cant trust them , just said sot for info. :)

@SwiftPushkar it is contested . It js mentioned Bhagavatam. But there are two books. Devi Bhagavatam and Srimad Bhagavatam. So, different sects believe theIr respective books as authentic.
"ma dwayam bha dwayam caiva bra trayam va catustayam ana pa linga ku skanicha"

@SwiftPushkar OK, I approved your edits.

6:33 PM

@SwiftPushkar haha. Even i copied it from there. :p

@KeshavSrinivasan Thank you sir :)

@KeshavSrinivasan what is srivatsa sign? Does Venkateswara has that sign? I could never see him completely in Tirumala.

@KrishnShweta - Do you like to draw Rangoli ? I like Rangoli very much , jut love those patterns .

@KeshavSrinivasan On Thursdays, he has no ornaments and decoration. I think we can see mark of srivatsa on that day? But my dad told me not visit on Thursday as He will make you get caught if you have done any sin or mistake. Lol.

6:46 PM
@SwiftPushkar Yes. Me too :)

@TheDestroyer The Srivatsa is a tuft of hair that Vishnu has on his chest. It indicates the presence of Lakshmi in his heart. And yes, the Venkateshwara statue has the Srivatsa on it.

@KeshavSrinivasan ok. I didn't observe that.

@KrishnShweta - there is deep meaning to drawing rangoli also , it improves creativity of mind , and boosts innovative thinking , its a popular belief , i read abt it some time ago

@KeshavSrinivasan there are also conflicting reports that Venkateswara stIll has hair.
On head
@KeshavSrinivasan what do you think?

@SwiftPushkar I see!

6:54 PM
@TheDestroyer like you , i have also started reading abt Upanishadas , have seen couple of videos on you tube

@KeshavSrinivasan And what happened to Padmavathi after marriage? So,. Now Vishnu has two wives or only one wife?
@SwiftPushkar i didn't start reading Upanishads. I'm confused whether to read them on my own or not.

@TheDestroyer - various commentries are avaliable , and yes we should know the meaning from Guru , i totally agree , but we will at least get some idea abt them , so that we could answer some of the questions :)

@KeshavSrinivasan Padmavathi becomes youngest Goddess overtaking Parvathi, if she still stays with Vishnu. Haha.
@SwiftPushkar even i want to learn Upanishads, the greatest of the greatest books the mankind ever got. But not sure whether I get original meaning.

@TheDestroyer So you want approach Gurus, Right?

@KrishnShweta want to.

7:03 PM
@TheDestroyer Good Luck!

@KrishnShweta but not sure. There are classes in Shiva nanda ashram in Uttarakand, which was very good ashram but don't know now. Many money monger Ashramams sprouted in Uttarakand spoiling the Spirituality.
@KrishnShweta can't trust anyone these days. Kali is growing at exponential rate.

@KrishnShweta @TheDestroyer @KeshavSrinivasan is Ramayan , mahabharat and upanishdas are part of Adhyatma or they are epics and philosophies ?

@KrishnShweta thanks.
@SwiftPushkar what is Adhyatma?

@TheDestroyer Yeah. It's really hard to trust the people....

@TheDestroyer @KrishnShweta @KeshavSrinivasan - Adhyatma=Spirituality
@TheDestroyer - its more marathi word though :)

7:11 PM
@SwiftPushkar ok. It's same in telugu but I thought you meant some other meaning.
@SwiftPushkar those books are ro instill spiritual values.
We must Transgress all 3 Gunas , Satva ,Rajas and Tamas. Satva is good but to get Moksha ww must leave Satva also.

@KrishnShweta @TheDestroyer - Even i am thinking of joining somewhere for regular discourse somewhere , and baythe way can we took a saint as guru , like saints from past /
@TheDestroyer - yes
@TheDestroyer@KrishnShweta You might be knowing abt san tDnyaneshwar. I want to make him guru.
Dnyaneshwar or Dnyandev (IAST: Jñāneśvar) (1275–1296) was a 13th-century Marathi saint, poet, philosopher and yogi of the Nath tradition whose Dnyaneshwari (a commentary on the Bhagavad Gita) and Amrutanubhav are considered to be milestones in Marathi literature. == Biography == === Background === Dnyaneshwar was born in 1275 (on the auspicious day of Krishna Janmashtami) in Apegaon village on the bank of Godavari river near Paithan in Maharashtra during the reign of the Yadava king Ramadevarava., The kingdom enjoyed peace and stability until invasions from the Delhi Sultanate started in 1296 CE...

@SwiftPushkar LOL... I thought he is alive.

@SwiftPushkar i want to learn them from some knowledgeable and true Guru. I can't go to Himalayas as I have no connection like Sri M or some other saint. All i can do is, to ask Adi yogi to help me.
@KrishnShweta though it seems ridiculous, you can learn from him. He comes to you if you are sincere.

@TheDestroyer ok , who is Adi yogi is he saint frm himalayas

@TheDestroyer True. I'm not making fun of Him. You people were discussing about approaching Gurus, so I thought He is one of those. Sorry.

7:21 PM
@SwiftPushkar Adi Yoga is Shiva.

@TheDestroyer ohh very nice :)

@KrishnShweta No. I didn't mean u made fun. But saying it could be possible. I read that in auto biographies of Yogis. No need to say . Sorry.

@TheDestroyer :)
Good Night!!

@SwiftPushkar Dakshina Murthy is form of Shiva who was Guru for Sanat Kumaras. Tezz Profile picture is Dakshina Murthy who is young and sages sitting around him.
@SwiftPushkar Dakshina Murthy can be Guru for anyone.

@KrishnShweta lots of saints follow same traditions lke we have Varkari traditions etc but i dont know what you people called these traditions , i mean only words are different , rest is same , so i thought you might be knowing abt hm:)

7:28 PM
@KrishnShweta @SwiftPushkar Good night.
Will talk to you guys tomorrow.

@TheDestroyer yes Good Night see u ..:)

@TheDestroyer After Venkateshwara turned to stone, Padmavathi when to Thiruchannoor and Lakshmi went to Kohlapur, and then they also turned to stone.
@TheDestroyer Padmavathi is an incarnation of Vishnu's wife Bhumidevi, by the way.

@KeshavSrinivasan - i have visited Kolhapur so many times , shree Mahalakshmi temple . Also after visiting Shree balaji temple people Visit Mahalaxami temple at Kolhapur . Its just 250km from my home :)
The Shri Mahalakshmi (AmbaBai) Temple of Kolhapur in Maharashtra, India, is one of the Shakti Peethas listed in various puranas of Hinduism. According to these writings, a Shakti Peetha is a place associated with Shakti, the goddess of power. The Kolhapur Shakti Peetha is of special religious significance being one of the six places where it is believed that one can either obtain salvation from desires or have them fulfilled. The temple takes its name from Mahalakshmi, the consort of Vishnu, and it is believed that the divine couple reside in the area. The temple belongs architecturally to the...

@SwiftPushkar Oh, that's nice

@KeshavSrinivasan . Didn't they becomes images on his left and Right chest? I think Lakshmi devi did Tapsya after coming from Vaikunta?

7:41 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan @TheDestroyer - I will take your leave :) Good Night \Good Day , Bye

@KeshavSrinivasan Vedavati's next birth is Padmavathi‌, who has soul of Lakshmi.
??
@KeshavSrinivasan In one version of story they turned to images on his chest.

8:30 PM
@TheDestroyer Yes, Padmavathi is the next birth of Vedavathi, but both of them are incarnations of Vishnu's wife Bhudevi, not Lakshmi.
@TheDestroyer I don't think any scriptures mention them turning into images on his chest.
