5:47 AM
@KeshavSrinivasan We won't worship one God. In my home, there are around 10-15 God and Goddess Photos. I'm from joint family so few of my family members perform Arti on Monday, few on Friday and few on Sunday. I mean, we won't follow a specific sect. That's why I'm not clear about sampradaya.
@KeshavSrinivasan I heard about "Kul Devi" or something like that in TV, so I asked my father who is our? so he said Laxmi is our main Goddess...

6:11 AM
@KrishnShweta Are you a Brahmin? If so you can figure out your sect by examining the Sandhyavandhanam procedure of your male relatives.

@KeshavSrinivasan No. I'm not a Brahmin.

6:28 AM
@KeshavSrinivasan I want to discuss regarding body-soul relationship of Vishishtadvaita.

6:40 AM
@Pandya ok

@KeshavSrinivasan as we've already discussed, according to Vishishtadvaita, universe/world is actually nothing but Brahman right?

@Pandya Yes, the world is just a transformation of Brahman.

@KeshavSrinivasan ok; so, I think there is body-soul relationship between Brahman and Jivatman only and can not be applied for Brahman and world. Isn't it?

@Pandya No, Vishnu is the Antaryami or inner self of both Jivas and the world.

@KeshavSrinivasan I agree that Vishnu is inner self of Jivas but the world is itself Vishnu. (how the inner self of world)?

6:53 AM
@Pandya Physical matter consists of a mixture of the three Gunas, Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas, whereas Brahman is by nature pure; Brahman possesses the six Kalyana Gunas or auspicious qualities. So in transforming into the world, Brahman is becoming something that has different attributes than the natural qualities of Brahman.
@Pandya But then within that physical matter, Vishnu still dwells in his pure state as the inner self of that matter.
@Pandya The six Kalyana Gunas, by the way, are Jnana, Bala, Aishwarya, Shakti, Virya, and Tejas.

@KeshavSrinivasan so, you mean we should consider different Brahman 1. with Kalyana Gunas and 2. pure?
@KeshavSrinivasan Then we can say that Pure Brahman is the inner self of Brahman with attributes. right?
@KeshavSrinivasan And by the way as you considered " So in transforming into the world, Brahman is becoming something that has different attributes than the natural qualities of Brahman." similarly how about considering " Brahman is becoming something that has different attributes than the natural qualities of Brahman in case of Jivatma also? and still dwells in his pure state as inner self of Jivatma?."
Btw how to solve such problem like "Everything is verily Brahman except Jivatma!"

8:10 AM
@Pandya No, there's only one Brahman. Pure is the same as possessing Kalyana Gunas. The Kalyana Gunas are pure qualities, as opposed to the impure qualities associated with physical matter.
@Pandya No, Jivatmas are not a transformation of Brahman, Jivatmas are eternal.
@Pandya Well, that's not a problem to be solved, that's simply the nature of reality: Brahman is the Antaryami of both Jivatmas and matter, and Jivatmas and matter are both parts of Brahman, but what distinguishes Jivatmas from matter is that Brahman transforms itself into matter but not into Jivatmas.
@Pandya By the way, I just reposted my question about Sri Harsha's Khandana Khanda Khadya on Philosophy Stackexchange, in the hope that Incan get breed answers there:
1
Q: What is the logical structure of this argument by a Hindu philosopher about causation?

Keshav SrinivasanThe Khandana Khandana Khadya is a work by the 12th century Hindu philosopher Sri Harsha which in some sense sets out to disprove epistemology - it seeks to show that all putative means of knowledge, whether sensory observation, inference, or scriptural revelation, are ultimately invalid. That's ...

@KeshavSrinivasan :
@KeshavSrinivasan ^^ (As far as I understand about Vishishtadvaita) right? /cc @Tezz

2 hours later…
2:38 PM
I forgot to mention that Red = Universe/World = Brahman (Impure)

2 hours later…
4:10 PM
@Pandya Yeah, that's a good picture.
@Pandya And yeah, the red is just a transformation of the blue, and can change back to blue at any time. In contrast the yellow and green have always been yellow and green.

5:03 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan I have found the answer. I belongs to Rudra Sampradaya. I asked my father so he said.

@KrishnShweta Oh ok. So then you belong to the Pushti Marg, the sect founded or popularized by Vallabhacharya.
@KrishnShweta I discuss the Rudra Sampradayam here:
0
Q: Who is sage Jalabimba and what is his connection to Vishnuswami and the Rudra Sampradayam?

Keshav SrinivasanAs I discuss in my question here, Vishnu is said to have taught the principles of Vaishnavism to four disciples: Lakshmi, Brahma, Shiva and Sanatkumara. And in turn they started the four main Sampradayas or traditions of Vaishnavism: Sri Sampradayam, Brahma Sampradayam, Rudra Sampradayam, and Kum...

@KeshavSrinivasan I thought to ask you about question/answer you had post regarding this.... thanks.
@SwiftPushkar Hello!!

5:18 PM
@KrishnShweta@KeshavSrinivasan Hi both of you :)

@SwiftPushkar Wazzup

@KeshavSrinivasan Your Questions also provides lots of info. which generally we wont get from anywhere :)

@SwiftPushkar I agree with you, @KeshavSrinivasan is too Good. :)

@KrishnShweta Nothing , Raining over here since morning so sort of dull atmosphere here , what abt your place?

@SwiftPushkar It's raining and your are saying it's dull. Ah!!! I wish it would rain here.

5:24 PM
@KrishnShweta @SwiftPushkar Thanks for the kind words

@KeshavSrinivasan need 1 meaning.
@KeshavSrinivasan In that question you said, "He quotes the Ramapatala, a purportedly centuries-old work from the Ramanandi sect which gives some information about Vishnusvami's sect"
@KeshavSrinivasan what is Ramapatala?
Is it a book name?

@KrishnShweta Yes, Ramapatala is the name of a book written by someone from the Ramanandi sect.

@KeshavSrinivasan Okay :)
@KeshavSrinivasan what kind of food do you eat? I mean, which food is prepared at your home, Indian or American mostly?

@KrishnShweta A combination of American food and Indian food. I eat American food like pizza and French fries, and Indian food like Sadham, which is cooked rice.

@KeshavSrinivasan will Mantras , stotras , and other literary work of current time will get append with previous works. So after say 1000 years people will say that xyz Upanishad was written , and this this was discussions took place inbetween guru and his disciples.

5:39 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan That's cool.

@SwiftPushkar No, Vedic ashrams take great care to make sure that the original text of the Vedas is preserved and nothing is added to it.

I forgot one name and I want to know that.

@KeshavSrinivasan dose that mean all current works will not be called as puranas and upanishdas etc but will simply will be categorize as modern spiritual work after long time.

I have watched Mahabharata in TV few months ago. So, Ghatothkach is son of Bheem, but I forgot His mother name.

@KrishnShweta are you from Telangana , I am from Maharastra ?

5:50 PM
@SwiftPushkar Yeah, they'll just be remembered as modern spiritual works, or they may just be lost over time.

@SwiftPushkar Yeah.

@KrishnShweta Ghatotkacha's mother is Hidimbi, sister of Hidimba.

@KeshavSrinivasan Yeah. They are devils and They lived in magical cave right?

@KeshavSrinivasan ok :)
@KeshavSrinivasan We have very little presence (Hindu mythology) on Mythology SE .You also i think given some answers over there.

@KrishnShweta Yeah, they were Rakshasas. They lived in the forest.
@SwiftPushkar So far I only posted one answer on Mythology.SE:

A: Does Kalki appear at the end of every Kali Yuga, or just the current one?

Keshav SrinivasanNo, Kalki only comes in this Kali Yuga, not every Kali Yuga. Let me first explain a bit about Hindu timescales. The four Yugas known as Satya, Treta, Dwapara, and Kali together make up one Mahayuga, and a thousand Mahayugas make up one Kalpa or day of Brahma. But in addition to being divided i...

6:01 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan Okay :)

@SwiftPushkar I also posted one question there:
5
Q: Was the Kali Yuga invented in the Kali Yuga?

Keshav SrinivasanOne of the most well-known features of Hindu time-scales is the cycle of four Yugas, known as Satya, Treta, Dwapara, and Kali. In the Satya (aka Krita) Yuga, almost all humans are good. In the Treta Yuga, most humans are good but some are bad. It's during one of the past Treta Yugas that the H...

Q: Why did Vyasa depict different Supreme Gods in different Puranas?

AbyI see that many people (including me) remain confused about who is the Supreme God. The main reason for confusion is that in different Puranas, different Gods are shown as Supreme God, e.g., in Shiva Purana, Shiva is said to be the starter of everything and same is said in Vishnu Purana regarding...

Found this very interesting :)

@SwiftPushkar Yeah. Good question.

6:44 PM
@KrishnShweta western point view is not like ours , they are highly technical people , and also wont tolarate us when they see that we r related to Hinduism SE
@KrishnShweta My personal experience on skeptics SE was also bad , they just wont serms to understand our point of view , and heavily demand proofs for any of our statement

Hmm...

@KrishnShweta it seems our mentalities are also different , we are more emotional rather than scientific or technical :)

@SwiftPushkar Yeah
@SwiftPushkar I like electronics and electrical SE. They will definitely help if we put efforts before asking them.

@KrishnShweta yes you are right but for general questions the case is not same eg. If i ask question abt electronics (general) they will not entertain it mostly
@KrishnShweta so its good for respective profession people like scientists , doctors , engineers but for general population these sites wont be able to provide answer he seeks in simple sence
@KrishnShweta let's talj abt something else :)

@KrishnShweta Are you asking me who my Kuladevata is? My Dad's Kuladevata is the Prasanna Venkatachalapathi temple in Gunasilam:
Gunaseelam Vishnu Temple(Abhimana Sthalam) is a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu located 20 km (12 mi) from Trichy, in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located on the banks of river Kollidam. A visit temple is believed to be a curative to the mentally challenged people, who are taken to the temple and kept in the temple premises for 48 days. At the end of the 48 days it is believed that their illness is cured by the grace of the presiding deity, Prasanna Venkatachalapathi. The temple has set up a mental health rehabilitation centre that has the official stamp of the Tamil Nadu Government...
@KrishnShweta And my Mom's Kuladevata is the Veeraraghava Perumal in Thiruvallore, which I discuss in my question here:

Q: What scriptures describe Vishnu marrying a rebirth of the golden Sita statue?

Keshav SrinivasanI'm currently visiting India, and I just went to my Mom's Kula Devata, the Veeraraghava Perumal Vishnu Temple in Thiruvallore. Many things have happened in this location over the ages, including Vishnu reteaching the Vedas to Brahma after he forgot it due to his fifth head being cut off (which I...
