@sandwich I think that was before the groupthink decided that such was abusive. Anyway, aren't you a metasmoke admin?

@BrockAdams I think dick emoticons 8={3,}D are rude apart from groupthink. No, not an admin.

in SO Close Vote Reviewers on Stack Overflow Chat, 36 secs ago, by Undo
@PraveenKumar FYI, metasmoke is automatically ignoring your feedback now (you passed the 4%+4 threshold). It won't automatically go away, but you can see your invalid percentage here - you're completely welcome to ping Art or I if you can get your invalid % down significantly.

excellent
@Undo problem is, how does he show that his percentage has dropped?
MS won't accept his feedback. It gets dropped before it's finished creation.

8:03 PM
@SmokeDetector why

@SmokeDetector f

@ArtOfCode Wait, really?
I thought we created it, but ignored it at runtime

@Undo yeah, that's what the logic in FeedbackController#create is all about
if the invalid percent is too high, it just drops what it's doing and carries on with something else

hrmph

8:06 PM
We could add an is_ignored attribute field to the Feedback model, and the default scope. Ignored feedback doesn't count against your invalid %, but it's not displayed or used, etc. Let admins manually unignore individual feedbacks, and the invalid % would come down.

@ArtOfCode Sounds sane
Ideally, a 'confirmation' feedback from an unignored person could automatically unignore a single feedback
Yeah, that makes a ton of sense

It's a chunk of dev work to make sure it works properly, but it would bring more automation to it.

@Undo We could add the rule that ignored feedback needs to come first, so the ignored person can't copy feedback from others to get out of it

Confirmation feedback is a great idea - check if there's ignored feedback on the post when you create a feedback, and if the current feedback is not ignored and the type matches, then unignore the currently ignored one.
@Ferrybig also sane

@Ferrybig Or just not last

8:08 PM
@Undo not last still lets you copy other people who you think are good

Not too concerned about that, but meh

yeah, minor concern

Should probably be implemented as an after_create on the Feedback model so that review queues count too

we're not dealing with people who intentionally abuse systems here
@Undo yeah, that would work

Not last seems to be better, if the ignored person is for example in the tavern

8:09 PM
@Ferrybig point

yep, sense made

also easier to implement :P

Make sure to correctly handle it if there are 2 ignored users at the end, but this may also indicate a bigger problem

@ArtOfCode Want to do that or should I

@Undo I... probably shouldn't, given that I should be revising for exams :)

8:14 PM
Gotcha, good luck on that :)
(also, exams in early/mid June?)

exams are weird

In the US just about all the schools are out and the standardized ACT/SAT stuff was months ago

@Undo I had an exam 2 weeks 1 week ago

Mine stretch from May 18 right through to June 28

wow

8:16 PM
I'm out on study leave now, but the rest of the school is still in season.

So... do they, like, not take a summer break?

yeah
only 6 weeks though

so that's why British people are smarter

break up early/mid July, go back early September

So just about a whole extra month comp. to US school schedules

8:18 PM
'course, if you're at university then you break up mid-May and don't go back till mid-September

@ArtOfCode That's closer to US high schools

Weird false positive in SE spam detector: Possible false positive spam detection. Support and tips solicited by Anish Majumder on meta.superuser.com

My gut says that's not actually a spam block
Possible that SpamRam is doing things with post content now, but I think it's more likely that he hit a simple keyword block
on mSE, though
And my 27k might help get through the filter, not sure

@Undo yeah, I'm fairly sure rep weighs on the filter

@Undo, @ArtOfCode regarding this recent answer, I don't recall seeing any notice on MetaSmoke that most of that app's content is from SE. Did I miss it? :)

@BrockAdams Every post has a link back to the user who posted it and the link - whether it was deleted isn't our problem
And the favicons scattered everywhere

@BrockAdams it's attributed to the requirements, with links and all that. My reading is that if you attribute to full CC BY-SA standard, you don't need the content source notice because of the links

10:56 PM
Yeah, but favicons are just more "borrowed" content. I don't see any notice that looks like it meets the TOS.

It wouldn't be difficult to add one if we needed to, but I think the links to posts and users satisfy it.

Debatable. But the TOS itself isn't clear; saying, "This requirement is satisfied with a discreet text blurb, or some other unobtrusive but clear visual indication." So you have some wiggle room when you get the inevitable CAD letter. :)

If SE sends me a CAD letter... there'll be some questions ;)
