11:00 PM
I guess that's one sacrifice I have to make...

SE-Chatbot is the best actively maintained one.

WOO PYTHON

Anonymous
Data also uses SE-Chatbot

Anonymous
@quartata Don't lose

I lost the game.

11:02 PM
There's the Python SE-Chatbot and the JavaScript SO-ChatBot

@Mego ?

Anonymous
@quartata Steam told me you were playing cs:go

@Quill Yea, I figured python was the lesser of the evils.

@Mego CS:S
but yeah
:P
Thanks for the well wishes.

11:03 PM
CS:S: Cascading Styles: SHEETS
3
CS:GO: Cascading Styles: GO ORATE

Speaking of which, I think I could play CS:S, so long as I play no more than 20-30 minutes at a time.

Why the time limit?

Because playing CS longer than that is the official sign of not having a life :P

It's in an IEEE standard somewhere.

11:05 PM
When the GPU is too hot for too long, down goes my computer.

@Geobits Probably next to the pigeon carrier specs

@Geobits Does it specify different time spans for different games?

Yes. I'm having trouble finding the chart at the moment, but it's pretty comprehensive IIRC.

@Geobits ...

Look, I didn't write the thing.

11:10 PM
hahaha

Q: VirusTotal explanation needed

TsitraI have done a virustotalscan on a custom PHP script that I've just purchased for quite a lot and it gets detected by Rising AV as "JS:Trojan.Nemucod!1.A420 [F]". I have tried to look up the rising antivirus to do a scan myself but it's unfortunately in Chinese. Is there a way to tell what file...

I JUST WORKED OUT WHAT IIRC MEANS!
I FEEL SPESHUL

> Before you can use the bot, you need to install some dependencies such as ChatExchange3 (the Python 3 port of ChatExchange and BeautifulSoup4. You can install them by running setup.sh on Linux (requires pip to be installed) or setup.bat (requires git and pip, in C:\<YourPythonFolder>\Scripts\ to be added to your PATH).

@NewMainPosts nope

Where do I install git?
2

11:11 PM
sudo apt-get install git

I use windows.

(I know you have Windows)

(But you need to know that Linux is superior)

Windows is bad, but not That bad.

11:11 PM
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ If you have GitHub Desktop, just open the git bash. Has to be in your start menu

(SUPERIOR. ALL HAIL UBUNTU AND IT'S 50 MILLION SUB-DISTROS)

@VoteToClose You use Mac and Mac doesn't have apt-get. :P
Has Homebrew though, and Homebrew is pretty sweet.

Actually it does with Fink

@mınxomaτ I am confused.

Fink uses APT

11:12 PM
@AlexA. Mac has homebrew. And plus, I actually use my flash drive OSs most of the time anyway.

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Click the thing that says git bash.

@quartata I have both Fink and Homebrew.

@mınxomaτ Where?

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ ... from your start menu

11:13 PM
^^ here

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ rly?

@mınxomaτ There's nothing on my start menu that says "git bash"

Go search for it then. :P

Click harder
3

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Then open it from the GitHub Desktop UI.

Anonymous
11:15 PM
Or install Git Bash from GitHub

> Grotesque Moose

@Mego That's the same thing.

> ignore ignores me
Nice commit messages

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ

FML
Windows is over-avidly protecting me from the chat script

11:19 PM
sudo apt-get remove windows

sudo apt-get install literally-anything-else

@AlexA. Anything else than removing windows?
wat

As bad as windows is, windows >>> Mac

Very false

Sorry, I forgot to add purge.

11:20 PM
@AlexA. Indeed. BTW.: Have you ever tried elementary OS?

very false <<== false

@mınxomaτ First you apt-get remove windows, then you apt-get install anything other than Windows.

@mınxomaτ I haven't but it looks nice. @PhiNotPi set up a dual boot with it.

@AlexA. It's like ubuntu with less outdated packages and a non-shit design.

11:21 PM
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ git rekt ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ How the hell do you manage that...

I did absolutely nothing.

you suck

@mınxomaτ I actually like the Unity interface, but I think I'm in the small minority on that one...

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Download GitHub Desktop, install it (select "Add to path") and be happy ever after.

11:22 PM
@Seadrus Even if that's in jest, that's not an okay thing to say to someone.
3

@mınxomaτ I already installed it and literally used it yesterday.

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ But not the shell, right?

No, I used that too >:|

@AlexA. It's okay-ish. Usable, but nothing to celebrate imo.

@Geobits I thought KDE on openSUSE looked like it should have been spec'd out with crayons.

11:23 PM
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Do C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAMR\AppData\Local\GitHub\GitHub.appref-ms --open-shell

@mınxomaτ Or alternatively %userprofile%\AppData\...

@AlexA. I just copied the shortcut command from the lnk file because I can't be bothered.

:P

Same error message.
I'm going to reinstall it >:|

11:26 PM
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Logout and back in again after de-installing, but before re-installing.

Grab a live cd/usb while you're at it.
and not a windows one

Surely someone can make a sane computer....

I have like a 4 year old DVD with 9 different distro's of linux on it. Saved my bacon multiple times.

I'm starting to think it's not the computer that's insane :P

11:27 PM
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ The issue is somewhere between you monitor and your chair.

> Removed/replaced keyboard manipulator. Op check good.

I don't come here to be jeered at.

@Geobits @mınxomaτ That did come off a little mean.
(Even though it was clear you were joking.)

That was a quote from a very, very old comic about PC users >.>

To be fair, I am feeling somewhat mean today. I probably shouldn't be interacting with people in general.
I'll take that as my cue to head out for a while ;)

is so much more fun than to me, especially when code size doesn't matter

Anonymous
Now to do some complexity analysis

@Mego I don't understand this challenge
Where is the room for creativity by the answers?
It seems like it's telling you exactly what to do.

Anonymous
@feersum Scale a histogram such that the total is 32767. All 0s in the input are 0s in the output, and all non-zeros in the input must be non-zeros in the output. Score is how close the total RMS differences are.

Anonymous
The creativity is in how you do the scaling and work towards minimizing the sum RMS

11:53 PM
Doesn't it say that n has to represent the probability n/32767?

Anonymous
Yes

What then do you mean by creativity in how you do the scaling?

Anonymous
Say you have an input histogram [18, 18, 0, 2, 6]

Anonymous
A valid (but poor) output would be [8191, 8191, 0, 8191, 8191]

Anonymous
Which would be setting every nonzero value to 32767/(# of nonzero values)

Anonymous
11:59 PM
An improved output would be [13405, 13405, 0, 1500, 4457]

I mean, this is trivial to find isn't it?

Anonymous
Somewhat

Even the +/- 1 part should be fairly trivial.
