@havarka hi. If the person has a chat account already, you can find it (go to chat users and search by name, but common names are tricky because that list is for the whole network). Once you find the right account, you can click on "invite this user to" (choose room that you're in from the drop-down). That person will receive a notification. There might be a delay of up to 20 minutes on that.
If the person doesn't have a chat account or you can't identify it, the best you can do is to ping the person in a comment asking that he join you in chat. Typing "[chat]" in a comment turns into a link to this chat room, by the way.
Also, a person needs at least 20 reputation to be able to chat.

@IsaacMoses Do you know of another one to replace it with?

He merited to see his legacy embodied in tremendous blessing for the world in his lifetime, and we are privileged to, without doubt, see it continue to grow and benefit us all. It is a tragedy that he can no longer participate himself.

I believe feeds into chat are broken network-wide right now (they were late last night, anyway). Haven't seen an update one way or the other, but if there's a problem it may well not be at our end.

All: I think judaism.stackexchange.com/q/57498/170 should be closed as a duplicate, as I've explained there. What do you think? (Pinging people listed as present in this room right now whom I didn't ping there and who are active on the site: namely, only @HodofHod .)

@msh210 I think no, at least in its latest form. I think the question of why it doesn't take time to get the Rosh Codesh message out is a valid distinct question.

Latest citation of MY content in an (apparently forthcoming) academic paper: "The Mystical Medicinal Power of the Jewish Book," by Zachary Grayson, cites a comment on this question and the question itself in Footnotes 33 and 45, respectively.
I sent the author a comment:
I came across this paper because it came up in a routine search I run for citations of Mi Yodeya (http://judaism.stackexchange.com). Thanks very much for using Mi Yodeya content and attributing it back to where you found it!

Slight correction: On page 9, you refer to a Mi Yodeya participant as "one blogger." This is slightly inaccurate, as Mi Yodeya is not a blog, but a question and answer forum. I recommend this short tour of the site for an overview of what Mi Yodeya is and does: http://judaism.stackexchange.com/tour . One phrasing that you could possibly rep

@IsaacMoses Question is, is the semantics about us not being a blog worth an extra seven words? ;)

@Scimonster It could probably be done more briefly, too. But yes, IMBO.

Yodeyan: one word. :P

@Scimonster Someday... :)

@IsaacMoses I think that the next time someone calls Mi Yodeya a blog, you should personally go to their house and bludgeon them to death with a giant B.
(B for blog, what we're not. Or perhaps Q for Q&A, which we are. Hmm. I think it's probably easier to grasp a giant B than a giant Q.)
Rethinking: Q for what we are. After all, we're also not a forum.

@Scimonster I think the analog to me in that story is the nitpicker who posted the bug. I therefore suggest that you do not provide that link or your suggestions for parallel implementation thereof to Mr. Grayson.

@IsaacMoses Oh, so that means that the next time you complain about someone misreferring to us a blog/forum, they should personally go to your house... ;P

@Scimonster You said that; maybe Atwood did; I didn't.
I suggest that anyone interested in implementing this suggestion with respect to my house should first review hilchot "haba bamachteret"

@IsaacMoses Yeah, one day.

@Scimonster I would like both widespread awareness and use of MY and the Geula to come ASAP. I'm not sure which will come first, but I hope they're independent enough that neither is held up waiting for the other.

Another result of searching that site cites this answer in a footnote, but clumsily, IMO.

Reply from Z. Grayson:
"My citations are not yet in proper form - thanks for pointing out the proper citation and for you info. I look forward to your comments."
