@IsaacMoses A y'shiva guy, home for yom tov (or Nisan), led musaf one day of Pesach, and said "kadavar heamur b'shire uzecha". I went up to him after musaf and explained quietly that that would be with an ayin and mean "like the thing that's heaped" and he should say "haamur".
